US Fish & Wildlife Service prescribed fire escapes in Colorado
A wildfire resulting from an escaped prescribed fire on Friday, October 16, burned about 600 acres on Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge, about 3 miles south of Walden, Colorado. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said three structures burned on Friday -- a barn, pump house, and a mobile home used as a storage building. Firefighters from several federal agencies and Jackson County Fire Department contained the fire at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Moose Arapaho NWR
Moose are the largest members of the deer family. Males are immediately recognizable by their huge antlers. The antlers of a large male moose can spread for 7 feet and weigh 75 pounds. They are shed annually between February and March, they begin growing in April, and reach full size in August. The five moose pictured in this video were observed grazing late in the day on Earth Day, April 22, 2015, near the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center, Walden, Colorado. I think you can see antler buds sprouting from each moose, so I assume they are all bulls.
Moose browse mainly on shrubs, tree leaves and bark, or water plants. Normally, I find moose feeding on willow leaves. The willows were still bare this April day and we found the moose eating grass. The legs of a moose are too long for them to graze standing up. They must kneel down on their front legs to reach the ground. This is the first time I have witnessed this behavior.

Walden - Moose Country
On our last day in Walden we stopped in for breakfast and asked about good spots to ride. The owners told us about a road they know of where every time they go down they always see a moose. Well, we didn't end up seeing a moose there, but we did end up seeing one before we even left the cabin! However, it was a beautiful but short ride.
Amazing fly fishing adventure in North Park Colorado near Walden.
I filmed some beautiful aerial and handheld views of the fly fishing and beautiful nature shots in the North Park Colorado area. I filmed on a Phantom 3 Professional and GoPro 4 with a stabilizer. Saw a ton of wildlife like moose, elk, antelope, and of course fish!
