Winding roads and alleys curve through the town, leading to the center square, Pano Piatsa (Upper Square). There is a castle perched atop the mountain behind the town. A Byzantine fortress and Venetian architecture round out the beauty of the town. The center of the village has many hotels and places to stay, restaurants, bars and cafes. Other places to see in Skyros Town: Agia Triada church; the Monastery of Agios Georgios; the Statue of Immortal Poetry in commemoration of Rupert Brooke, the English poet who died on the island; the 17th century Agios Athanasios church; and Agios Konstantinos church. The toys were probably from the beginning of mankind, and as long as they are children, we can imagine that there will be toys. As a result, we encounter toys among archaeological remains. Ayşe Bursali from Arkeofili.com, the oldest, has compiled 19 gamers dated to 5000 years BC.

The citadel (akropolis) of ancient Kreusis lies on the east slope of mount Korombili. The fortification walls with towers of the 4th cent. B.C. - of initial length of c. 300 ms - are preserved in a good condition. Kreusis and the nearby Siphai were the ports of ancient Thespies.
On a low hill opposite the akropolis of Kreusis stands a medieval tower (14th cent A.D.).

Latte Stone Quarry: Rota
The ancient Latte Stone Quarry was amazing. At least 500 years ago the Chamorrow would carve these shapes out of rock. The rectangular stone was placed upright and the round rock was balanced on top of that. It is believed that the huts were then built on top of the latte stones. Rota has many latte stone village sites but this quarry would have been the largest. I see that the stones were braking as they were being removed, perhaps because the rocks were just too big to be used as latte stones. The quarry was then abandoned by the builders.

Temple of Hephaestus, Greece
The Temple of Hephaestus or Hephaisteion (also Hephesteum; Ancient Greek: Ἡφαιστεῖον, Modern Greek: Ναός Ηφαίστου) or earlier as the Theseion (also Theseum; Ancient Greek: Θησεῖον, Modern Greek: Θησείο), is a well-preserved Greek temple; it remains standing largely as built. It is a Doric peripteral temple, and is located at the north-west side of the Agora of Athens, on top of the Agoraios Kolonos hill. From the 7th century until 1834, it served as the Greek Orthodox church of Saint George Akamates. The building's condition has been maintained due to its history of varied use.
Hephaestus was the patron god of metal working, craftsmanship, and fire. There were numerous potters' workshops and metal-working shops in the vicinity of the temple, as befits the temple's honoree. Archaeological evidence suggests that there was no earlier building on the site except for a small sanctuary that was burned when the Persians occupied Athens in 480 BC. The name Theseion or Temple of Theseus was attributed to the monument under the assumption it housed the remains of the Athenian hero Theseus, brought back to the city from the island of Skyros by Kimon in 475 BC, but refuted after inscriptions from within the temple associated it firmly with Hephaestus.
