Scenic Drive. Arches National Park Road, Utah, USA in 4K Ultra HD
The scenic drive in Arches passes many outstanding natural features.
If you have 1.5 hours
Drive to The Windows Section and see some of the park's largest arches. (Add a half hour to stroll beneath either North Window or Double Arch.).
Alternatively, drive to Delicate Arch Viewpoint and see the world's most famous arch, a mile distant. Stop at Wolfe Ranch on your way back and imagine what it would have been like to homestead this relatively barren area in the late 1800s.
If you have 3 hours
Do both of the above.
If you have 4.5 hours
Drive all of the paved park roads, spending ten minutes at each viewpoint, and be sure to visit The Windows Section, Wolfe Ranch, and Delicate Arch Viewpoint.

I made this trip in January 2018. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

Arches National Park - Hiking the Devils Garden - Utah - LeAw in the USA //Ep.33
We are living the American dream driving the Historic Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica but we are doing some detours to visit some places we like.
In this 33rd episode, we visit Arches National Park and hike the Devil's Garden Trail. Enjoy the ride with us! ;)
Arches National Park is a national park in eastern Utah, United States. The park is adjacent to the Colorado River, 4 miles (6 km) north of Moab, Utah. More than 2,000 natural sandstone arches are located in the park, including the well-known Delicate Arch, as well as a variety of unique geological resources and formations. The park contains the highest density of natural arches in the world.
The park consists of 76,679 acres (119.811 sq mi; 31,031 ha; 310.31 km2) of high desert located on the Colorado Plateau. The highest elevation in the park is 5,653 feet (1,723 m) at Elephant Butte, and the lowest elevation is 4,085 feet (1,245 m) at the visitor center. The park receives an average of less than 10 inches (250 mm) of rain annually.
Administered by the National Park Service, the area was originally named a national monument on April 12, 1929, and was redesignated as a national park on November 12, 1971. The park is expected to receive 1.8 million visitors in 2018.
The Devil’s Garden Trail is the longest and most difficult maintained trail in Arches National Park – and it’s also one of the most fun. Once you get past the early sections you’ll be scrambling up and overlong, narrow sandstone fins (future arches!), ducking under and crawling through existing arches, and trekking through ruggedly beautiful backcountry that few of the more casual tourists in Arches will ever get to see.
The trail begins at the end of Devil’s Garden Road, which is literally the end of the paved road in Arches National Park.

ARCHES NATIONAL PARK - Weekend Tips in 4K
See Arches National Park in only two days. Hotel tips, scenic route suggestions plus popular and unpopular must-see sights.
We spent our labor day weekend exploring the incredibly strange and beautiful landscapes of Arches National Park. The Park is secluded in Eastern Utah and gets it’s name from its over 2000 natural occurring sandstone Arches.
To get there, we flew into Denver and rented a car. I wouldn't be discouraged about the 5 hour commute from Denver to Arches National Park. The Rocky mountain drive along the Colorado River is a breathtaking adventure all in its own. We splurged a little and rented a convertible Ford Mustang for $80 a day.
Entering Arches is like landing on another planet with strange geologic formations straight out of looney tunes or the Flintstones. Many formations got their names by resembling something like Queen Nefertiti also called 'Unjoined Rock’ or the Three Gossips. Also are the Towel of Babel, Landscape Arch, Double Arch and Delicate Arch to name a few.
For whatever reasons, many people start leaving around sunset, but we recommend selecting a favorite location to not only watch the magic hour colors change, but to also kick back and stare at the multitude of stars. After dark we had Double Arch all to ourselves.
Cheap Hotels in neighboring Moab are not cheap. You can spend $200 a night for a Motel 6 assuming you made a reservation. Or, you can do like we did and drive 1.5 hours back to Grand Junction Colorado. We got a Motel 6 there for 60 bucks a night and the drive ROCKS!
The next morning on the way back to Arches, we took a couple extra hours to explore the spectacular scenery along highway 128 from Grand Junction to Moab. We highly recommend you do this too, if you have the time to spare. We pulled over at several scenic sites including Fisher Rock and another place that looked just like Monument Valley.
Inside Arches National Park, parking is provided close to many of the sights and surprisingly we didn’t have to hike far before we were all alone. We were there during an extra hot heat spell in early September on Labor Day weekend. Perhaps that’s why there were so few people. Hiking during mid day was a little taxing and we found ourselves clinging to what shade we could find and burning through water like... like.. like people who are really thirsty. But after peak heating, the atmosphere cooled quickly. The bright moonlight enabled us to feel comfortable hiking well after dark.
***BONUS ROUND*** CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK
Canyonlands National Park is located right across from Arches. To see as much as possible with the little time we had, we drove the Grand View Point Road, stopping at several jaw dropping overlooks. Some main attractions were Shafer Canyon Overlook, Mesa Arch, Upheaval Dome and Green River Overlook. Most of the overlooks we stopped at had few people, if any… Then again, it was a hundred degrees.
The highlight for us at Canyonlands National Park was the 1 mile hike to Grand View Point Overlook where we took in the panoramic evening scenery. Though you can see for miles and miles in all directions, there wasn't another soul in sight.
Three days is hardly enough to explore these extraordinary landscapes, but it is enough time to have an unforgettable, long weekend vacation. If you have never been to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, We strongly suggest you put them at the top of your list of places to visit.

Arches Park Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about nature park Arches Park in the USA.
Around 8 kilometres north of the small town of Moab in the State of Utah, is the entrance to one of the most famous national parks in the United States, Arches Park, a national park that owes its remarkable popularity to its gigantic sandstone arches of which there are approximately 2000. Covering 300 square kilometres, the park is relatively small but it is one of the USA’s most popular nature reservations. From Courthouse Towers with its outstanding rock formations there’s a 38 kilometre panoramic route known as Scenic Drive that takes in the rocky sand dunes of Petrified Dunes which are evidence that the park owes much of its geological phenomena to its famous stone arches. Balanced Rock is one of the park’s main attractions. Weighing around 3,600 tons, the sandstone rock balances precipitously at a height of 22 metres supported on a fragile looking foundation. Close to Cache Valley is the massive, isolated stone structure of Delicate Arch. Although it appears to be fragile it has been proudly standing close to the nearby valley since prehistoric times. The Devil’s Garden Trailhead leads to a large collection of the most beautiful stone arches. With the passage of time, ice forced apart the softer layers of stone and countless years of relentless erosion created these natural arches along with all the other bizarre rock formations of the plateau. Created by the two elements of water and air that have cut deep into the sandstone, Tunnel Arch is the first arch that can be seen when walking through “Devil’s Garden”. This natural stone arch is so smooth that it could easily be compared with a modern Man-made tunnel. A few metres away there’s another small opening in the rock wall, Tunnel Arch, where the surrounding vegetation creates a romantic ‘Wild West’ atmosphere. In this incredible land of sandstone arches, the fascinating rock formations and unique beauty of Arches Park is surely one of the most spectacular sights in the natural world.

Auto Tour: Arches National Park in Utah
When the United States, in keeping with its best idea, decides to create a new national park, it can go without saying that the land is special, iconic, and worthy of protection.
It can be said, however, that some of these gems are so mind-numbingly spectacular, that a single feature --- say, a delicate arch perhaps? --- can be recognized as one of the single most geologically significant, visually breathtaking, and frequently bucket list-making landmarks in the world; attracting 1.4 million visitors last year alone.
This is the case in Utah's Arches National Park.
Utah is a special place. The state is home to five of the most jaw-dropping national parks on the map, carved over millions of years through its red rock. Located on the eastern side of the small town of Moab, with Canyonlands National Park down the road to the west, Arches is home to one of the most inspiring sections of road in any national park.
Watch Chimani's Auto Tour of Arches National Park Here:
With its entrance located directly Highway 191, it can be difficult navigating the traffic during peak seasons and certain times of day. From the entry station and visitor center, park visitors begin their adventure with a winding drive up to the top of the Moab Fault and immediate views of the nearby La Sal Mountains. Moments later, you're greeted by landmark after gorgeous landmark; from Park Avenue to The Organ, Three Gossips to the Petrified Dunes and Rock Pinnacles.
The suspense continues to build throughout the entire drive as more and more recognizable features come into view.
Plan for no less than an entire day to explore this park. The Garden of Eden, Parade of Elephants, The Windows, and Balanced Rock, each equally impressive and unique.
Hike the Fiery Furnace, to Landscape Arch, Double O Arch, and yes, make sure you carve out plenty of time to bask in the majesty of Delicate Arch.
The hike can be brutal on a hot day, trust me, it was 110 degrees when I completed the hike at 7pm! Most hikers didn't make it up the 1-mile, rock face ascent to the arch that day.
Arches National Park is a special place and a must-visit destination in the west.
