The Arizona State Capital in Phoenix, Arizona United States, was the last home for Arizona's Territorial government, until Arizona became a state in 1912. The 1901 portion of the Capital is now maintained as the Arizona Capital Museum with a focus on the history of Arizona.

Arizona Historic State Capitol Video Tour
On our quest to see all 50 state capitol buildings, we toured the historic Arizona state capitol in downtown Phoenix. The building is no longer used by the legislature and instead is a museum. The actual working chambers for the House and Senate are next door. The Arizona state capitol building is far less impressive than other capitol buildings we've toured.

Arizona State Capitol
This is the old Arizona State Capitol. The state history museum is housed inside. The new more modern capitol and government offices is housed in the tall tower behind the old capitol. The state senate and house chambers are located to the left and right of the building.

Arizona Capitol Building & USS AZ Memorial Room
This is the Arizona Capitol Building in downtown Phoenix. The building is now a museum and part of it is dedicated to the Battleship USS Arizona which was sunk when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 ~ 'Day of Infamy' The flags fly at half staff due to the shooting on Dec. 14, 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Phoenix Suns exhibit opens at Arizona Capitol Museum
In celebration of the Phoenix Suns’ 50th season in the Valley, the Arizona Capitol Museum and Arizona’s original sports franchise have teamed up to open a special exhibit that highlights the Suns’ rich history and tradition. The “Suns at 50” exhibit features a timeline from the franchise’s inception in 1968 to the present that documents the brightest moments in team history along with the growth and development of Phoenix. The exhibit, which also includes unique Suns memorabilia and artifacts, brings to life the story of the Suns’ five decades in the Valley and gives fans an opportunity to learn about the illustrious history of the storied franchise.

The Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza has over 29 monuments honoring those who have served in different wars. The centerpiece is the tribute to the USS Arizona, featuring her signal mast and one of her anchors.
