Arkansas State Senator Gary Stubblefield introduces SJR3 Convention of States
The Convention of States Arkansas Action group met in Little Rock at the Arkansas State Capitol January 24rd 2019 in the Arkansas Senate Committee on State Agencies and Government Affairs.
The purpose was to pass SJR3, a Resolution that would call for an Article V Convention of States to add amendments to the United States Constitution
Several activists and legislators attended.
The main guest speaker was former United States Senator Tom Coburn. Coburn has been pushing for the Convention of States for years.
Former Arkansas Senator Gary Stubblefield, who has also been an advocate for the Convention of States, is the lead sponser for Resolution SJR3.

Little Rock is the capital and the most populous city of the U.S. state of Arkansas. It is also the county seat of Pulaski County. It was incorporated on November 7, 1831 on the south bank of the Arkansas River very near the geographic center of the state. The city derives its name from a small rock formation along the river, named La Petit Roche by the French in 1799. The capital of the Arkansas Territory was moved to Little Rock from Arkansas Post in 1821. The city's population was 193,524 at the 2010 census. The five-county Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is ranked 75th in terms of population in the United States with 724,385 residents according to the 2013 estimate by the United States Census Bureau.

The Convention of States Arkansas Action group met in Little Rock at the Arkansas State Capitol February 13th 2019
The purpose was to rally for the passage of SJR3 in the Arkansas House, a Resolution that would call for an Article V Convention of States to add amendments to the United States Constitution. The Resolution passed by 56 votes out of 100. The Arkansas Governor has no veto power or need to sign the resolution. The State Courts systems have never removed a Convention of States Resolution. The state Resolution can be rescinded or amended by a state legislator
Supporters of the COS that attended were former United States Senator Tom Coburn, Arkansas Senator Gary Stubblefield, who has also been an advocate for the Convention of States, is the lead sponser for Resolution SJR3, & Marck Merckel President of Convention of States Action.

Good afternoon & thank you so much for standing in solidarity with the global MARCH ON MONSANTO. I am Adam Lansky, this is Anthony Thomaz & today we are honored to be joined by Oksana Pavilionis, the founder & director of the Ovation Music Academy of Benton. We are going to perform for you an original, three-movement composition titled EVENT HORIZON. It is inspired by times before mankind, the modern-day American kitchen, & the approaching future of civilization as a consequence of genetically modified organisms.
The term event horizon deals with black holes & specifically refers to the physical distance from a black hole that once something has crossed this point it cannot escape the gravity. Not even light can escape a black hole once it has crossed the event horizon.
I believe that today, May 25th, is our event horizon.
We have to recognize that this rally will have no real impact on President Obama who signed the MONSANTO PROTECTION ACT. This rally will have no real impact on the commodities of Capitol Hill known as *congressmen* or on the poison distribution centers known as FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS. I know it feels like we are accomplishing something real out here today but we are merely standing on the surface.
I am you & what I see is me. I know we believe our feelings are real but listen & I'll tell you the truth, brothers & sisters -- until your feelings are a reality that someone else can experience firsthand, they are simply a figment of your imagination. Our environment is a consequence of our actions.
You are not an animal. You are not a robot. You are a human being & these things that you're feeling are fuel for your fire. It is your obligation to inflict your raw feelings upon this world without reservation or consideration to the pleasantries of this era.
There is no turning back anymore. It is one thing to see poison in the television & another to swallow it, an anchor force-fed no less a silent declaration of war.
This is our event horizon. Solidarity.
Arkansas State Capitol - Senate Dome Renovation
In Summer 2012, renovations began on the dome over the Senate chambers at the Arkansas State Capitol. New copper flashing, glass panels and even a new flagpole have now erased the effects of time and the elements. The renovations were completed in the Fall of 2012, and were paid for by a grant from the Arkansas National and Cultural Resources Council.

The Arkansas Convention of States held its rally at the Arkansas State Capitol on Thursday January 12th 2017. About 50 people including Convention of State Officials and Arkansas State Legislators attended. The Convention of States is a process where the United States Constitution can be amended if enough states pass a resolution to call for the convention that is then ratified.
