Tour with the cable car from Arosa to the top of mount Weisshorn at 2639m in the ski region Arosa-Lenzerheide. Next to the restaurant Weisshorngipfel you will experience a spectaculair panoramic view over the swiss mountains. From the Weisshorn you can see Arosa and Chur at the foot of the mountain. The cable car is part of the Arosabahnen in the Arosa Holiday Region.

Beim gipfelrestaurant Weisshorn gibt es einem spektakulären Panoramablick über die Schweizer Berge. Von der Weisshorn aus kann man Arosa und Chur am Fuße des Berges sehen. Diese Seilbahn ist teil von der Arosabahnen im feriengebiet Arosa-Lenzerheide.

Arosa & Lenzerheide: Secret Switzerland

Arosa is a couple of hours train ride from Zurich via Chur. At Chur a single gauge train winds up through dense alpine forests and past awe-inspiring mountain peaks.
The Arosa Kulm Hotel and Alpin Spa is the essence of friendly elegance in the tradition of a 5-star hotel and a member of the Swiss Deluxe Hotels group. Located on the ski slopes the hotel caters to skiers as well as those in search of a comfortable, family friendly atmosphere.
There are 110 rooms and suites with over 180 staff
A Deluxe suite brings luxurious appointments to alpine practicality. The 65 square meter suite has a hidden bed to adapt the living room into a separate sleeping room. With its own bathroom with shower this is ideal for families. The master bath with stunning stone and refined fixtures include a separate shower, bidet and large Jacuzzi bath. It has walk-in wardrobe and the South facing extensive balcony is where one can get mesmerized with the spectacular views.
The ski area of Arosa Lenzerheide has 225 klms of pistes with 42 lifts covering two valleys. With one side facing east and the other facing west, the Lenzerheide Valley offers varied skiing alternatives depending upon weather patterns. Lenzerheide is also home to Roger Federer’s family compound reported to have cost in excess of $13 million.
At the top to Arosa is the Hornlihutte.
There are plenty of options for both those in search of groomed pistes and for those who love the challenge of off-piste powder skiing. So should one bring their skis from home….
And no mountain Swiss meal is complete without a little raclette. The Graubünden chefs make it with gusto!
Meanwhile back at the Kulm Hotel, the Alpin Spa is beckoning those in search of wellness and relaxation. The 1200 square meter spa includes a stainless steel swimming pool, Jacuzzi, whirlpool, massage showers, waterfall, finish saunas, steam bath, relaxation room and for those daring enough an outdoor area to roll in the snow.
In Arosa a relative newcomer to the dining scene is the hip and creative Bullrian restaurant. The friendly and fun owners serve up unique tapas style dishes from shrimp in a spicy sauce to organic vegetables and sweet beets that can’y be beat. The steak carved at the table, Tuscan style, brings home the sense of a gastronomic adventure which leaves no one hungry.
At the Arosa Kulm next to the hotel’s casual Italian restaurant is a two lane classic European bowling alley where the pins are attached to strings. The challenges are exciting and it is a good way to exercise any chance of a spar tire. Each day in Arosa Lenzerheide is greeted with bright sunshine and glorious skiing options. The biggest challenge is to decide where to ski and what to feast on. There is no limit to impressive selections on both fronts. This region of Switzerland is still a secret but as the word gets out don’t be surprised that Graubünden will be synonymous with Great Alpine Vacations.

The tradition-rich Grisons holiday resort of Arosa is located at the end of the romantic Schanfigg Valley at an altitude of about 1800 metres above sea level. With its impressive range of mountain peaks all around, Arosa Lenzerheide is just as attractive for extended hiking tours in summer as it is in winter, offering a great variety of snow sport activities.
Because of its location at the bottom of a wide valley, Arosa is very sunny and to a great extent sheltered from strong winds. As there is no transit traffic, the air is particularly pure which is why Arosa has been a famous Alpine health resort since 1877. Arosa is accessible by Rhaetian Railways from Chur or by car across over 365 serpentines and through several tunnels, past the smaller holiday resort of Langwies.
The Arosa All-inclusive Card, which is free for any overnight stay (apartment, hotel or camp site), entitles Arosa guests to a wide variety of free offers! This card includes the usage of the aerial tramways to Hörnli and Weisshorn, access to the rope park, entrance to the local history museum, pedalo rentals and much more.
The holiday region of Arosa is just as varied in summer as it is in winter. The cable car connecting the Arosa Hörnli with the Lenzerheide Urdenfürggli is a comfortable possibility for guests to switch back and forth between the two resorts.
Arosa alone boasts more than 200 km of different hiking and walking trails. A hiking tour to be especially recommended is the 10 lakes hike, a tour of 15 km leading from one crystal-clear mountain lake to the next. Then there’s the Schanfigg circuit from Chur to Arosa and back with its many traditional cozy mountain cabins, nicely cultivated stretches of land and alpine pastures.
For mountainbike enthusiasts, a multitude of trails are available in Arosa as well as in Lenzerheide, where there is the additional possibility to use the bike park and the skill center as well as a bike school. Many biking events are organized for visitors to watch or participate in.

Spending a weekend in Arosa, Switzerland is truly a dream. Arosa, one of Switzerland's most beautiful mountain chain! Blue skies, shiny snow & swiss'ish houses everywhere.
The restaurant where we were eating at 3:00 is called 'Weisshorngipfel' and has a 360° view. If you are traveling to Arosa, this is definitely worth a visit!
Hint: If you do a pre-reservation, you'll have a whole table for your own!
