Known for dynamic live performances, effortless union of voices in harmony, and anthemic melodies – they embody a wide-eyed energy, deliver messages of reflection and optimism, have an earnest mission for connection, and are endearing audiences across Canada and beyond.
Their songs celebrate coming of age, ambition, decisions we make to persevere, and the resilience of the human spirit. Their new album HOLD FAST produced by Daniel Ledwell was released on May 25, 2018.
Fortunate Ones are fully contemporary, yet when you watch them you can’t help but feel you’re watching the ‘next in line’ of great Newfoundland entertainers. ” – Tom Power, CBC Radio

Luca Lazylegz Patuelli
Throughout his career, Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli has been able to share his message with over a million audience members worldwide.
Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli has lived by the “No Excuses, No Limits” motto his whole life. Born with Arthrogryposis, a neuromuscular disorder affecting the bones and joints of the body, at 15 years old, Luca was introduced to breakdancing (Bboying/Bgirling). Immediately, he was attracted to the music, the culture and, of course, to the challenging movements. He slowly began creating a unique style that took advantage of his upper body strength. By using his crutches as extensions of his arms, Bboy Lazylegz was born!
Offering a charismatic, interactive, and dynamic presentation on his own successes and failures, Luca describes how perseverance got him to where he is today. These 60-minute presentations cover a wide variety of topics on personal empowerment, disability awareness, overcoming adversity, and creative leadership.

STF Promo 2017 - 39th Season
Running from July 14 to Aug. 13, 2017, Stephenville Theatre Festival's 39th season will include two wildly popular musicals, a heart-warming Canadian play, an interactive musical for young audiences, a legendary rock ‘n’ roll dinner theatre presentation, the popular An Evening With… series and The Gala.
Two of this season's show are featured in this promo video. They are Urinetown: The Musical and The Marvelous Wonderettes.
Urinetown: The Musical is an award winning and hilarious musical comedy! A satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself! A side-splitting send up of greed, love, revolution (and musicals!), in a time when water is worth its weight in gold, Urinetown: The Musical is a wickedly funny, fast paces and surprisingly intelligent comedic romp.
The Marvelous Wonderettes is a smash off-Broadway hit that takes you back to the 1958 where we meet four delightful girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with well loved hits form the ’50s and ’60s.
Other shows this season include For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again (which is a funny, nostalgic and bittersweet comedy by acclaimed Quebec playwright Michel Tremblay), Cinderella: A Rat-icall Retelling (the classic fairy tale turned into a kitchen party romp for young people and for the young at heart), Rocket Man: The Music and Life of Elton John (dinner theatre experience exploring the music of this legendary rock ‘n’ roll performer and writing partner Bernie Taupin), An Evening With… series (featuring comedian Trent McClellan in a hilarious stand-up show; actor Cindy O’Neill in Cindy’s Back … and Her Front Too; and Mike and Violet Dawson, Jennifer Dawson-Hobbs, Hayward Bennett and Donovan Conran in Legacy: Country Legends).
We will host Talk Back sessions again this summer. Each of the productions housed in the Arts and Culture Centre will host a single after-show Talk Back session with the cast and crew, to allow attendees an opportunity to ask questions about the content and the process in each presentation and provide a chance to socialize with the company.
No Stephenville Theatre Festival season would be complete without the always-popular Gala finale. Be sure to catch this special performance and enjoy the great talents of the festival’s company members.

The Velveteen Rabbit - Canada's Ballet Jörgen NL Tour
Dancers from Canada's Ballet Jörgen bring to life this renowned story of a young boy and his love for a stuffed rabbit that eventually comes to life. Written by Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit was the most popular of her thirty children’s books and focuses on the importance of friendship, love and the discovery of what is real. As the wise character Skin Horse says, “Real isn’t how you are made. It’s the thing that happens to you. When a child really loves you for a long, long time... then you become real.”
The Velveteen Rabbit was a favorite children’s story for choreographer Kathleen Rea. She has created a fairy tale work that she hopes will teach children that it’s what’s on the inside of you that’s most important.”
Join us for this #ACCPresents show, as Canada's Ballet Jörgen brings the story of The Velveteen Rabbit to life.
