Top 6 Museums to Visit | Barcelona Travel
Watch more How to Visit Barcelona videos:
Planning a trip to Barcelona? If museums are your thing, you're in luck: Barcelona boasts six wonderful ones. Learn more about them in this travel video.
Barcelona has more museums than you’ll have time to visit.
Start with the History Museum of Barcelona and tour the museum’s massive archeological site to get an idea of what Barcelona was like in ancient times, as far back as its Roman foundations.
Then, visit the National Art Museum of Catalonia, located in the majestic National Palace, to see some of the best examples of Catalonian art. It’s especially known for its collection of Romanesque artwork, from woodcarvings to frescoes.
See masterpieces like Las Meninas, The First Communion, and The Harlequin at the Picasso Museum. This museum is spread across five renovated Renaissance palaces and contains thousands of Picasso’s early works.
For sculptures, visit the Frederic Marès Museum -- this museum houses the finest collection of medieval Spanish sculptures around, along with a variety of other fascinating historical objects, from toys to ceramics.
If you’re interested in modern art, you can’t skip the Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona, which covers a broad range of Spanish modern art dating from the 40s to the present. The building that houses the museum is a work of modern art itself, with astounding architecture that stands out in an otherwise old-fashioned neighborhood.
Another great collection of modern art can be seen at the Joan Miró Foundation which has the world’s best collection of famous surrealist artist Joan Miró’s works.
These great museums are only the beginning of what Barcelona has to offer -- Barcelona is a fantastic place to experience some of the world’s best art.

Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is defined by quirky art and architecture, imaginative food and vibrant street life. It has medieval roots, seen in the mazelike Gothic Quarter, but a modernist personality represented by architect Antoni Gaudí’s fantastical Sagrada Família church. Its restaurant scene, anchored by the central Boqueria market, ranges from fine dining to tiny tapas bars.

Barcelona, Spain ART TRAVEL video
This Barcelona, Spain travel video displays some of the best tourism attractions, architecture and Catalonia life in general. I used the Konova slider, iphone GH2, D300s and highly experimental editing techniques. My goal with this short travel documentary about Barcelona was to capture superior cinematography. I also wanted my Barcelona travel video to have a firm hold on modern factual story elements. Or, a subtle narrative without speakers.

Barcelona, Spain: Picasso Museum
Picasso spent his formative years (from the ages of 14 to 23) in Barcelona, and this museum, housed in a palace in the Old City is the best collection of his early works anywhere. By experiencing his youthful, realistic art, you can better understand his later more abstract periods and more fully appreciate his genius. Always restless, ever prolific, Picasso delved into many styles including Cubism and became the greatest artist of the 20th century. Barcelona is where it all began. Wandering Through Beautiful Barcelona
Wander with the locals that give this seaside city energy. From lively sports arenas to detailed street art, Barcelona enriches the senses.
We crossed spacious streets, with building resembling palaces, in La Rambla promenade; the shops were well illuminated and there was movement and life...I did not decide to go to sleep, even though I wished to, so I could rise early and contemplate, in daylight, this city, unknown to me: Barcelona, capital of Catalonia. - Hans Christian Andersen

I love the sea, and taking an early-morning jog along the Mediterranean is my favourite way to start the day. I'm also a bit of a history nerd, and relish strolling the cobblestone lanes of the Gothic quarter, thinking about the people in past centuries who walked these streets...

Barcelona Academy of Art
At Barcelona we aim at teaching drawing, painting, sculpture and digital art using a complete curriculum and teaching methods stemming from the classic- realistic tradition. The methodology originated on the Renaissance and was brought back to life by the main Realistic academic Ateliers of the late 19th century (in particular, by great painters such as Jean-Léon Gérôme, Léon Bonnat and Carolus-Durán).

Thank you for supporting the creative commons movement !!
There are the special people who can create a positive atmosphere in any possible situation. Karcocha is one of those special people. He is one of the wonderful artists who have an ability to create a smile on the face of the people in the streets. In this funny video we can see the funny skills of Karcocha.
The comedy is an interesting form of art. There is more creative freedom in the space of the comedy. The funny clowns can break the limits of culture. The funny comedians can break the limits of the social borders that are keeping us in the mental limitation. The comedy can be also be a good therapy for the emotional pain. When we create the funny jokes, then we change our internal emotions.
The emotions are in control of our actions. When we feel happy, then we are able to do the positive things that are helping us to build a better future. The jokes and the smile are like the fuel for our soul. We want to be happy, we want to smile and to laugh as much as possible. The ability to create the smiles is like a gift to the soul. We can be very happy that Karcocha is creating a lot of smiles in the faces of the people. He is changing the mood for the millions of people who see his funny comedy on the Internet. This comedy can lead to the positive change in the world.
The comedy can heal depression. The jokes and the entertainment are like a therapy for the mind. The funny people are like the angels of the good emotions among us. We find new hope and the new inspiration for life, when we are happy. The jokes of the Karcocha can make us happy. He has a very special talent for creating funny jokes in the different situations on the street. The improvisation is the special ability of Karcocha. The jokes are sometimes similar, and sometimes they are special and unique.
The creation of the comedy is one of the highest forms of art. The jokes can be funny, or the jokes can be very funny too. The very funny jokes do require a high level of creativity or intelligence, which is the same. The understanding of the jokes does require the creativity too. The comedian has to understand the audience and the culture of the audience. Some jokes are very good, they are funny for almost all the people. Other jokes only work well, when we understand the culture and the situation.
Karcocha uses his voice, but his jokes are very easy to understand, even without the words. The character of the Karcocha is a very funny man who is making the jokes about the people who walk on the street. The jokes are harmless most of the time. He does not force the people to be the part of the joke, if they do not want to. The jokes are short and very funny for the people too, if they are able to make a joke about themselves.
The egoistic people can not make a joke about their own personality. The happy people do understand that we all have our personal limits and that we are not perfect in any way. The humble people are able to make a joke about their own mind. Karcocha likes to create the funny jokes that are connected to the stereotypes and the cultural standards. When we can laugh about out own culture, then we can break free from the limitations of this culture. Very often our culture does create many limits for our own mind, when we can not break the traditions or the limits that were set for us by our ancestors. The jokes and the comedy can help us to move beyond the culture that is not relevant in our modern life. We can be very glad that Karcocha is helping us to become more happy and less strict about our perception of reality.
Thank you for supporting the creative commons movement !!

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
Barcelona, Spain: Gothic Quarter, Ramblas, Placa de Catalunya, Cathedral, Royal Palace, Placa de St. Jaume, Carrer de Farran, Placa Neri, Placa dei Pi, Placa Reial. Revised version of previous movie, now in HD.
Along the Mediterranean shore of eastern Spain lies Barcelona, one of the great cities of Europe to put high on your list of places to see. Although its sprawling metropolitan area is home to 4.2 million residents, you can easily see the main attractions of this country’s second-largest city in just a few days by walking through its square-mile historic center.
It would be smart to spend most of your time in and around the old section of town, called the Barri Gotic, or Gothic Quarter, a giant pedestrian zone surviving from ancient days. Barcelona has a large number of historic sites, museums, shops and tourist destinations, but the best attraction for many visitors will simply be this large pedestrian district. It is perhaps the most extensive automobile-free district in Europe (except for Venice, which has no roads at all). Of course, Barcelona has plenty of cars, trucks and buses on the busy main streets, but it is easy to get away from them.
Indeed, one of the most enjoyable activities in Barcelona is simply taking a walk through the many narrow lanes, away from the traffic. They wander, bend and curve like the maze of a travel mystery that leads to the overwhelming question: what’s coming up next? Remember to look left and right as you pass the smaller alleys intersecting with the main lanes.

25 Things to do in Barcelona, Spain | Top Attractions Travel Guide Video Transcript:
This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.
It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.
Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.
Well, so what did you think of the city?
It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.
And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. As always, if you have any suggestions of things to do around town, feel free to add them in the comments below. And if you want to catch our latest travel videos, don't forget to hit subscribe!
This is part of our Travel in Spain series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Spanish culture, Spanish arts, Spanish foods, Spanish religion, Spanish cuisine and Spanish people.
This is part of our Travel in Catalonia series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Catalan culture, Catalan arts, Catalan foods, Catalan religion, Catalan cuisine and Catalan people.
