Vietnam Travel Guide: Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ho Chi Minh
Gorgeous beaches, fascinating and complicated history, incredible food, lush nature; Vietnam is a country that truly has it all. Whether this country is first or fiftieth on your list, our travel guide has all the information you need to know if you’re planning (or dreaming of planning!) a trip to Vietnam.
Leave your expectations behind if you’re heading to Vietnam: here, you’ll eat noodles for breakfast, do your shopping in the middle of the night, and discover a country with a new story around every corner.
Hanoi more than delivers on urban excitement. If you’re looking for unique and mouth-watering food, the night markets of the Vietnamese capital should be your very first stop. You can enjoy a zippy ride on a scooter, all the street-food you can eat, and a night exploring the rapid development of this modern city. From trendy clubs to traditional puppet shows, experience a nightlife that’s all Vietnam’s own, and eat and drink the night away with locals and visitors alike!
Of course, Vietnam isn’t all fast-paced cities and rooftop bars. For a slower pace, head to Ha Long Bay and sail alongside limestone islets, with their lush rainforests towering above your head. The water is emerald-green, matching the vibrant greenery, and a sailing excursion here is like nothing else you’ve experienced before! A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the islets of Ha Long Bay are said have been thrown into the bay by a dragon protecting the people of Vietnam. Take a junk boat tour for a close encounter, or try scuba diving or snorkelling in the bay!
You’ll find a new adventure around every corner in Vietnam. From breakfast in the Bình Tây Market and a secret tunnel system in Ho Chi Minh City, to sailing along the Mekong Delta in a traditional basket boat, you can find your perfect trip - no matter what that looks like - somewhere in Vietnam.
There’s no time like the present to start planning an adventure of your own in this majestic country, so why not start today? Head over to TourRadar to explore the range of tours available, or watch more of our videos exploring Vietnam if you still haven’t gotten enough of seeing the beautiful views and incredible adventures you could be having.

Known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’, Hanoi is the gracious capital and cultural heart of Vietnam. Located on the northern Red River Delta, Hanoi is dotted with scenic lakes and leafy boulevards, including tranquil Hoan Kiem Lake at the epi-centre of Old Hanoi, where residents gather at dawn to practice tai chi and enjoy light exercise. It is a city of fascinating contrasts - where Parisian chic meets Asian vigour. Brightly coloured pagodas and crumbling 11th century buildings, stand alongside modern high rises and grand French colonial style villas. Locals practice graceful tai chi in the parks, whilst cyclos and mopeds weave at high speed through city streets. Age old customs are retained in the winding streets and alleys of the Old Quarter and the city’s French colonial legacy remains evident. The pace of life in Hanoi is not as frenetic as Ho Chi Minh City in the south and whilst it has developed rapidly over recent years and embraced tourism, it retains a refreshing ‘old world’ charm.
Hanoi is a historic city with many acclaimed museums including the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the History Museum and Ho Chi Minh Museum where you can learn all about the life of the country’s national hero. Whilst adjacent to the museum, at the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, you can pay your respects to the founder of modern Vietnam himself, as he lies in state in a glass sarcophagus. Hanoi is also home to many beautiful temples and pagodas, including the spiritual Temple of Literature – dedicated to Confucius.
AirAsia Flight Bangkok to Hanoi Vietnam Review
I have been taking flights with AirAsia during my all Southeast Asia trips. This time, I'm flying from Bangkok, Thailand to Hanoi in Vietnam and I thought to make an airline review for AirAsia. Making this type of videos is not an easy task but I always try to make it possible.

South East Asia Tour - Hanoi, Vietnam
We finally got to meet up with Eric Kim and his wife Cindy, they moved to Hanoi about 6 months ago. It was great to see them again, we last saw them just before they moved, and it was nice to have some tour guides. They took us to some great restaurants and cafes, we had some really good meals. The Pizza 4P's was the best pizza I've had in years, almost as good as the pizza in Rome!
Pho Ly Quoc Su was the best Pho of the trip, better than Pho Le in Ho Chi Minh City. The burger at Chops was really good too, it was nice to have an American meal for a change.
Uu Dam Chay, the vegetarian place, is really nice and fancy. Everyone but me enjoyed the food there, I'm just really not into vegetarian food, especially when you pay more for no meat, it was more expensive than any other restaurant we had in Hanoi.
We only had 3 nights in Hanoi, then headed to Halong Bay for a 1 night cruise, back to Hanoi for one last dinner with Eric and Cindy, then the night train to Sapa.

Hanoi (Vietnam) Travel
Take a tour of City of Hanoi in Hanoi, Vietnam - part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The capital of Vietnam is the world-famous city of Hanoi, one of the great cities of Southeast Asia.
One of this locale's greatest attractions is the large and monolithic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
This singular building was built to honor the leader who declared Vietnam's independence, and it is here where his body rests.
Another famous feature of Hanoi is its many pagodas, a distinctive part of Vietnamese culture.
Both as the capital and as Vietnam's second-largest city, Hanoi is a center of history and culture for the country.
Near Hanoi is the Perfume River, a stream that is sweetly scented by the flowers that fall into it in the spring.
The city is home to many museums and historical sites, and is one of the best places in the world to witness water puppetry.

Capital of Vietnam
Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. At its heart is the chaotic Old Quarter, where the narrow streets are roughly arranged by trade.
There are many little temples, including Bach Ma, honoring a legendary horse, plus Đồng Xuân Market, selling household goods and street food.

Hanoi tours - Vietnam Travel Guide | Asia Charm Tours
Hanoi Vietnam, capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Hanoi is one of the most visited of the popular destinations, is the beautiful capital city of Vietnam, sprawling in the banks of the Red River with French colonial heritage, most foreigners on a short visit find Hanoi to be slow paced, pleasant and even charming.
Hanoi is a sacred land of Vietnam. The year 1010 then became an historical date for Hanoi and for the whole country in general. For about a thousand years, the capital was called Thang Long (Soaring Dragon), then changing to Dong Do, Dong Kinh, and finally to Hanoi, in 1831. This sacred piece of land thereafter continued to be the theatre of many fateful events. Throughout the thousand years of its eventful history, marked by destruction, wars and natural calamities, Hanoi still preserves many ancient architectural works including the Old Quarter and over 600 pagodas and temples. Famous sites include the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, Hanoi Citadel, Hanoi Opera House, President Ho Chi Minhs Mausoleum...

Vietnam Vlog: Hanoi & Ha Long Bay - Asia Trip
Continuing with the Asia vlogs, after Hong Kong we visited Vietnam for the first time.
Visiting Ha Long Bay in particular was pretty interesting and surreal, but I also got rained on more than I ever had before.
Still, it was an interesting location and we were both really shocked by the sheer amount of motorcycles in the country.
I hope you enjoy this video, and the final few coming soon.
