July 2-3 1997 Asker Norway & Oslo Museums Part 1/7
Our extended visit with our good Norwegian friends, Jens & Ranveig, during July 1997. We visited Asker, and many Oslo museums - including the Viking Ship museum, the Kon-Tiki/Thor Heyerdahl museum, and the Holmenkollen Ski Jump as well as the Vigeland Park sculptures.
This video is long, probably boring (except to the people in it) and low quality - sorry for all of that... Text description provided by the architects. The boundaries, the height lines of the terrain and an underground pipeline, define the geometry of the plan. The building is divided: First one steps into a garden without any green, from here you can enter the indoor space.
The garden and the indoor space define together a small world, separated form the surrounding family life. Openings are carefully set to allow for views and light without possibility to look directly in from the outside. A large sun screen gives a necessary shade while working on the computer in the morning hours.

Stunning Cabin Vindheim by Vardehaugen in Lillehammer. Norway
Architecture studio Vardehaugen have designed a snowbound cabin called Cabin Vindheim withing a deep Norwegian forest, near the town of Lillehammer. As you would expect, the region in which it is located is subject to heavy snowfall and low temperatures. As a result, the exterior is clad with black-stained pinewood featuring bold apertures cut into the facade. It also boasts large windows that provide views to the fairy-tale like environment.
