Join us in this winter walking tour through the Acropolis in Athens Greece and do let us know your thoughts & tips about the city in the comments section below. We'll always take time to reply.
We start our slow tv 4K adventure with a spectacular view over the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, with the city of Athens spread out behind.
A stepped path takes up to the Acropolis itself, where we are met with the Temple of Athena Nike on our right, the Pinakothḗkē on our left and the ancient entrance to the Acropolis, the Propylaea, ahead of us.
And following through here, we find the great Parthenon itself, as well as the Hekatompedon Temple, The Porch of the Caryatids, the Erechtheion, the Temple Of Rome And Augustus as well as the Old Acropolis Museum.

Best Athens Walking Tour of the Acropolis
While in Athens for a week we decided to do a few tours of the city. While traveling the world we try and do as many tours as possible. After researching tour companies in Athens we decided to go with Athens Walking Tours and are we ever glad we did. The history lesson that was given to us from the tour guides was nothing less than spectacular. They were both fun and interesting, which made the tour so enjoyable. If we were to recommend a tour company that shows the Acropolis and the Athens old town (Plaka & Monastiraki.) Athens walking tours would be it. In our opinion going to the Acropolis without a tour guide would not be worth it. There's so much to learn that you will not know on your own. We came away from this tour feeling smarter lol and like a history boss of the area. Thank you Athens walking tours for an enjoyable day that we will never forget.
Side note, the line to get into the Acropolis is loooonnnggggg, Athens walking tours has the tickets ahead of time so you don't have to wait. That in itself is worth it.

Free Walking Tour of the Must-Sees in Athens | Athens, Greece
We went on a free walking tour that took us to all the major tourist attractions in Athens, including the Acropolis! This was one of our favourite walking tours because Athens is just such a walkable city, with such a high concentration of archaeological sites interspersed among the hustle and bustle of a modern city. We can't get over how many things we saw in a few short hours: the Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Hadrian's Library, the Temple of the Olympian Zeus, Tower of the Winds, and of course the Acropolis itself, with the Parthenon in full glory. Along the way we also sample some Athenian alcohol and even get lost on Philipappos Hill (Hill of Muses) on the way back. Such a great day! We highly recommend this tour for its ability to pack in so many things in such a short amount of time. If you only have one day in Athens, do this!
