Morocco Travel - Marrakech, Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert
5 day trip to Morocco, February 2015. Starting in Marrakech we took a 3 day trip across the Atlas Mountains to camp in the Sahara Desert on the final night.
Morocco Travel Guide: Marrakech, Atlas Mountains and Essaouira
On this trip you’ll be heading to Marrakech, the heart of Morocco, where spices linger in the market air, the sun sets on street performers, and the senses are treated to a whirlwind of sights and sounds. Discover life in the sprawling medina or get lost in the alleyways towards the souqs. Marvel at the tilework found in the royal Bahia Palace and Dar Si Said or learn how ancient traditions are woven into the fabric of Marrakech; there’s more than one way to fall in love with this cosmopolitan city.
Morocco is a North African country renowned for diversity, and this is one of the things that make it such a fascinating destination to visit. It’s a place where one will find many cultural influences, and the landscape offers visitors a chance to experience the ocean, Atlas Mountain peaks and the Sahara Desert all in one go. You might be travelling to one country, but in Morocco, there is a whole world to explore.
In Essaouira discover how coastal winds and different tribes can shape a port city. It’s a melting pot with Arab, Berber and European influences. While the sea attracts windsurfers, culture vultures flock to the medina’s alleyways for galleries and a spot of people watching. The vibrancy found in the country’s cities is matched by life in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where visitors can swap people watching and fortified walls for hiking, folk music and stargazing.
Observe nomadic shepherds, hike through limestone river canyons, enjoy impressive views and Berber hospitality and warmth as you make Midelt your basecamp for the Middle Atlas Mountains. As the sun goes down on the soaring peaks, the stars will light up the skies.
If we’ve inspired you to explore this north African country further, head over to TourRadar for all the different ways you can discover a world of flavour, culture and history in Morocco.

Best way to Experience the Sahara Desert | Camping in Merzouga, Morocco
The final Morocco vlog is here! Camping in the Sahara Desert at a spot called Merzouga.
Here we rode camels to our remote campsite, spent the night eating Moroccan food and listening to music played by the locals.
In the morning we made our way back to our new campsite by camel ride before jumping into some Jeeps to go on Safari.
To end it all a big long 13 hour bus ride to Marrakesh so we can finally show you what staying in a Riad is like.
Next stop: Flying home to surprise Jess's brother for Christmas!

Sahara Desert of Marrakesh - Meeting the Berber People of Morocco
Just outside of Marrakech, Morocco, are the Atlas mountains and the indigenous people that live there known as the Berbers. On today's travel, the locals gave us a raw and real look into their daily lives. After we went on a Sahara style adventure without going on the 9 hour drive from Marrakech to the Sahara desert with LG gram, a fantastic, portable travel laptop. Scarabeo camp just outside of Marrakesh gave us the next best thing with camel rides, luxury tents, and incredible star gazing. A huge thank you to LG for partnering with me on today's adventure and providing me an LG gram, equipped with 22.5 hrs of long-lasting battery.

ATLAS MOUNTAINS and CAMEL RIDE in MARRAKECH | Morocco Travel Vlog
Here's a glimpse of a day trip from Marrakech to the Atlas mountains - riding on camels, hiking to a waterfall in the Imlil Valley, and eating lunch with an incredible view!
*We got our bags very late at night prior to this day trip. All of the bags that were held in Casablanca were randomly sent on flights towards Marrakech throughout the day. Hamer took a cab to the airport in the evening and stayed until 2am to wait for the last flight of the day. The scene at the airport was chaotic. We were so lucky to have both of our bags arrive that evening, as many people who were waiting did not receive their bags that night. Both of our bags were soaked - clearly left out in the rain for hours (and maybe days), but we were so thankful to get them back. Taking videos was prohibited at the airport, although Hamer will attest that there was at least a hundred people waiting at the airport, hoping for their bags to arrive. We didn't get to close out this case on video because Hamer arrived back at the hostel so late in the evening and we woke up super early in the morning for this day trip, so we hope this explanation serves as closure for the experience we had a few videos prior. HOWEVER, be on the lookout for our video coming up when we attempt to fly with Royal Air Maroc to Cairo! Hint: it gets worse.

#7 - Marrakech to Fes through the Atlas Mountains and Desert
This is the long way of driving from Marrakech to Fes. A 3 day - 2 night glamping adventure. These were long days, and in many ways boring, but visiting the back roads of Morocco was something not to be missed.

Sahara Desert Tours from Marrakech
Sahara Desert Tours from Marrakech | I went on one of the best Sahara desert tours from Marrakech because of it's affordability and convenience. It was cheap and so easy to organize. I didn't want to do the Marrakech Sahara desert tour 1 day or 2 days because it would only go to Zagora which doesn't have the Saharan sand dunes like the Merzouga desert. The Marrakech to Sahara desert travel time is 2 days with a night's rest but 3 days if you camp in the desert and return to Marrakesh. Our tour was 3 days and 2 nights. marrakech to sahara desert distance is long and I show you how to prepare for the journey in the video. I would recommend doing the marrakech to merzouga tour because the sand dunes are special and fun, not just dried land. A morocco desert tour is a must do if you are traveling to morocco. It's easy to get to and the biggest desert in the world. Camping in the sahara desert is a dream being under the stars in the sahara desert. No matter what, you have to look into tours in the Sahara Desert for your trip to Maroc and do a Sahara trip Morocco. It's impossible to do a Marrakesh to Merzouga tour 2 days because I tried so hard to find one. The best you can do is go there yourself if you want to cut the trip short. Erg Chebbi tours from Marrakech are a must if you've never visited these Saharan sand dunes before! You have to do a Marrakech to erg Chigaga desert tour. Erg Chigaga are the dunes in the Merzouga desert.
You can't fly from Marrakech to sahara desert within morocco. Some people do the fez to desert to Marrakech route. The best Marrakech to fes desert tour will probably not be at your hostel or hotel because they want you to return to your Marrakech accomondation. You don't need to go on a sahara desert tour website because your Marrakech hostel or hotel will have lots of sahara trek morocco. You have to do at least the 3 day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga to get the full Maroc expedition travel. Of all the Marrakech adventures the Merzouga Sahara Desert Tour is the best. We loved our shared tour Morocco desert and others do a 4 day Marrakech desert tour to Fez. Here is one of many reviews of authentic Sahara tours. If you're short on time, you can do the Marrakech to Zagora desert but I'd recommend one day less in Marrakesh to experience an even better desert. Even if you want a 3 day from Fes to Marrakech tour, you have to visit the Sahara Desert while in Morocco. I have no Sahara desert morocco map but we did drive in crazy circles going up the Morocco Atlas Mountains. You can get your guide Morocco Desert tour to have more knowledge on what you will be passing. Our Sahara Desert Tour price was 85 Euros, the cheapest I had found.
I think the best travel vloggers are those who are real and share honest information with others, as well as help others travel, not just vlog how great their lives are abroad. Road Tripping from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert in Morocco
From the bustling city of Marrakesh, through the snow-capped Atlas mountains, to the blazing deserts and sand dunes of Merzouga, and back down all the way to the coast, I covered more than 800 miles of Morocco in a week.
