After roosting for over 30 mins, the TVs took flight. It was a little challenging to follow in the distance and with Ustream pausing and going in and out, but Iwanted to share anyhow.
Lookout for that turkey vulture
While riding Texas hill country 335, I worried about hitting a deer. I found out the Texas turkey vulture is slow to move out of the way. Wow thats a big bird. The Go Pro high def. camera still works, I'm impressed.

Turkey Vulture - The Rising Swarm 001
A swarm of Turkey Vultures leaving their overnight roost. The birds are circling in a thermal updraft trying to gain enough altitude to begin the day's search for food. The roost appears to be located just to the east of DART's Bush Turnpike Station and just south of President George Bush Turnpike in Richardson, Texas.

The Sam Houston National Forest, one of four National Forests in Texas, is located 50 miles north of Houston. The forest is administered together with the other three United States National Forests and two National Grasslands located entirely in Texas, from common offices in Lufkin, Texas. The units include Angelina, Davy Crockett, Sabine, and Sam Houston National Forests, plus Caddo National Grassland and Lyndon B. Johnson National Grassland. There are local ranger district offices located in New Waverly.
