The Foresthill Bridge, also referred to as the Auburn-Foresthill Bridge or the Auburn Bridge, is a road bridge crossing over the North Fork American River in Placer County and the Sierra Nevada foothills, in eastern California. It is the highest bridge by deck height in California and the fourth highest in the United States at 730 feet (220 m) above the river (source: Wikipedia)

Never-seen-before views of 1986 monster storm on American River at Auburn
We found a batch of negative file sheets from the 1986 storm. Many of the photos have never been published. The force of the water blew out the coffer dam on the American River at the Auburn dam project and put this short video together to share. Read the story about the 1986 storm and others to hit our area in Sunday's Auburn Journal.

Quarry Trail Auburn (1920s Bridge) Drone Video Middle Fork American River
This is drone footage of the No Hands Bridge on the Middle Fork of the American River in the Auburn State Recreational Area in Northern California. This concrete bridge has another name too, but not sure what it is. It was a bridge constructed in the 1920s for a quarry, so I know some also call it the Quarry Bridge. Originally it had a railroad track to carry rock from the quarry. During WWII the tracks were removed as scrap metal. The bridge had not hand rails and became known as the No Hands Bridge but of course now that it is a California State Recreational Area, there are hand rails.

Lake Clementine Trail in Auburn, CA
Just 10 minutes outside downtown Auburn sits Lake Clementine hiking trail. This trail goes along the American River and leads to a beautiful dam overlook. Lake Clementine offers more than just hiking. Boating, kayaking, swimming, and fishing are all popular activities for this one of a kind outdoor area. Check out the video for more!

Auburn Drive: Highway 49, Foresthill Bridge, & I-80 West – With Relaxing Music – Autumn 2019
A soothing drive along the American River North Fork in Auburn, California on State Route 49, which was named for the 49ers of the 1849 California gold rush. This drive takes us over the Foresthill Bridge, also known as the Auburn-Foresthill Bridge, which is the highest bridge in California and the fourth highest in the United States. After crossing the bridge we drove on Interstate 80 from Auburn to Roseville.

Robie Point Firebreak Trail, Auburn, CA - 4/22/2017
Day hike on the Robie Point Firebreak Trail to Robie Point ruins and then backtracking to the Western States Trail to visit the North Fork of the American River.
Total distance of a ~6.1 miles. Weather was perfect and dry for one of the few weekends so far this year, so there were a lot of people out and horse riders. Trails were also muddy and poison oak was prevalent throughout the entire hike.
