The Aurora Regional Fire Museum in partnership with Aurora University (Aurora, IL) is developing a elementary education curriculum which uses real-world examples from the firefighting profession to illustrate many common “STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) principals.

This video chronicles the vision of Aurora Mayoral Candidate Richard C. Irvin. Richard was born in Aurora's public housing projects. He had to fight to graduate high school. Gangs, drugs, and crime were all within shouting distance. His mother was proud when he received his H.S. diploma. He was the first in his family to do so, but Richard wasn't finished. He went on to serve valiantly in the U.S. Army. He courageously placed himself in harms way as he fought on the frontline in Desert Storm. He recognizes the potential in Aurora and believes that through economic development , strong leadership, and community Aurora can be transformed into a world class city worthy of residency and investment. Richard often speaks of the importance of local elections. He states, Local politics dictate policy that directly impact residents. Failed local policy will result in failed schools and unemployment. Local budgets determine if streets are cleaned in the summer and plowed in the winter. They decide who works for the city and which infrastructure repairs will be made. Local politicians decide how fairly or unfairly city contracts are awarded. He strongy believes that It is even more important to vote in regional elections than national. Fire Training at Washington Park
March 2, 2013, Washington Park, Denver,CO Apparently the fire department was doing some training or something. A pumper and a Ladder created a huge fountain. There were people sitting on the bench near the lake getting sprayed. The kids were loving it and by the end they were drenched.

FIFI Boeing B-29 Bomber Landing & Taking Off at O'Hare! KORD / ORD Plane Spotting [07.14.2016]
To say that this was a surprise is an understatement...maybe the correct way to describe this event is that it was a gift from the aviation gods.
Fifi, tail number N529B, flew into ORD from South bend International / Int'l Airport ( IATA : SBN / ICAO : KSBN ) in South Joseph County near South Bend, Indiana. The reason or the trip to ORD was, according to O'Hare airfield operations personnel, to train the new FO ( First Officer ) on flying through busy airspace. Fifi was on display both on the ground and in the air at Aurora Municipal Airport ( ARR / KARR ) in Aurora, Illinois for the CAF (Commemorative Air Force) AirPower History Tour, the weekend of July 14th -17th. Up until July 17th, 2016, Fifi was the only airworthy B-29 Superfortress in the world, but Doc completed her first flight that Sunday, completing a long journey of restoration to full airworthiness.
It was an absolute pleasure to watch Fifi make her, probably first ever, landing at Chicago's O'Hare International / Int'l Airport ( ORD / KORD ) and depart immediately after. I would've liked to see her remain for a while on the ground, but given the weekend plans, she was in and out in about 5 minutes, landing on Runway 28-Center ( RWY 28C / Runway 2-8-Center )and departing off Runway 28-Right ( RWY 28R / Runway 2-8-Right ) from the November 5 intersection.

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a four-engine propeller-driven heavy bomber designed by Boeing which was flown primarily by the United States during World War II and the Korean War. It was one of the largest aircraft operational during World War II and featured state of the art technology. It was the single most expensive weapons project undertaken by the United States in World War II, exceeding the cost of the Manhattan Project by between 1 and 1.7 billion dollars. Illinois Adventure #1505 Air Classics Museum
Air Classics is an aviation museum located at Aurora Municipal Airport - ARR - where the aircraft actually fly. You can sit in an A-7 that flew in the Gulf War and climb into the pilot's seat of a UH-1 Huey helicopter. The museum's collection includes aircraft, vehicles, uniforms and other aviation memorabilia from the 1930s to the present time.
Fire Training
Several local fire departments trained early Sunday morning, burning a building at U.S. 31 and Sugar Grove roads.
The building, once a gas station and later a restaurant, has not housed a business since the late 1980s.
Property owner John Tyron, who bought the land about six months ago, plans to use it for his business, selling exterior boilers, parts and service and maybe windmills as well.

Fatal fire outside Germantown Hills
An early-Friday house fire claimed a life just west of Germantown Hills, authorities said. The blaze, at 295 Old Germantown Road, marks the first fire fatality in the 56-year history of the Germantown Hills Fire Protection District, said Ed Madden, the department's assistant chief.
