How to Prune a Plum Tree
Justin Calverley from Sensory Gardens shows his technique for winter pruning of plum trees. This technique keeps the trees at a manageable height, opens up the fruit tree for maximum sun exposure and good air flow to reduce diseases and lots and lots of fruit for the coming summer harvest!
This technique can be applied to all spur bearing fruit trees (fruit trees that produce fruit over many years on small little shoots off of two year old and older wood)
Things to look out for in this video are setting up the framework of your fruit trees, pruning back lateral branches that could produce fruit to avoid overbearing trees that could cause damage and the Three D's of winter pruning.

“The Rolling Stones were one of the earliest British Invasion bands to hit America. In contrast to The Beatles’ clean image, the Stones were ragged; the kind of guys a girl’s father would warn to stay away from. With their music rooted in the Blues, the Stones have become the premier marquee band. After fifty years their music has not faded away nor have they burned out. They continue on as the unparalleled kings of decadent Rock ‘n Roll.”
This free outdoor concert series will continue into next year, with performances scheduled to take place at Perkins Center, Collingswood and Moorestown next spring. Text PerkinsArts to 22828 to sign up for our email list and to be the first to know about when these performances are scheduled.
We thank the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey for their support of this series and Perkins Center for the Arts. Additional support from PNC Arts Alive and The Frank and Lydia Bergen Foundation.
