How to use the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok (Co van Kessel Guide)
How to use the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok (Co van Kessel Guide)
For more information: covankessel.com
In this video we explain you how to use the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok Thailand. If you want to make the most out of your time in Bangkok, use the BTS Skytrain to get around. It is the most convenient way to travel through Bangkok, because it is connected to all the main areas. And when you connect the BTS with the Chao Phraya Express Boat, The Subway and the Airport Rail Link you can pretty much access everything in Bangkok.
The BTS Skytrain has 2 lines. The Sukhumvit line and the Silom line.
The Sukhumvit line runs from north to South-east, starting at Mo Chit and ending at Samrong.
It passes through major areas like Victory Monument, Siam (Central Station), Nana, Asok, and all the other stations on the street Sukhumvit.
You can also transfer to the Airport Rail Link at Phaya Thai Station and the MRT Underground at Mo Chit and Asok Stations.
The Silom line, starts at the National Stadium and ending at Bang Wa in Thonburi (across the Chao Phraya River).
The two lines connect at the station: SIAM. Siam is one of Bangkok’s busiest stations; not only does it connect both the Silom and Sukhumvit BTS Lines, but it is also a very popular shopping destination with 4 big shopping malls connected to each other.
The trains start at 5 in the morning from the terminal stations and the last one is at midnight.
This video is part of a web series about Bangkok and in this series we show you how to get around in Bangkok, Thailand.

Looking for an authentic and unique adventure? Co van Kessel bike tours and boat tours provides a refreshing alternative to the tired tourist experience. We do not battle the crowds at clichéd destinations promoted in guide books, but turn your attention to quaint local communities and charming excursions into the fascinating lifestyle and culture of real Thai people. Every day is different and every tour is a surprise as we focus not on destinations, but lose ourselves in the enchantment of the journey itself.
Co van Kessel, an innovative and adventurous Dutchman, pioneered bicycle tours in Bangkok more than 30 years ago. As a longtime resident and self-professed lover of Bangkok, he understood very well the picture of accelerated urban development (gridlocked traffic, concrete towers, and choking pollution) that has plagued the recent image of the city. He also had a hunch that this was not what Bangkok or Thailand was all about.
Making it his goal to re-discover Bangkok, Co spent thousands of hours on his mountain bike exploring the vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals between the main urban thoroughfares. What he found, lurking behind the facade of modernization, were hidden worlds of peace and tranquility, a picture of “real” Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades; an identity of a city that is true to the Thai people, yet largely unknown to outsiders.
Whether it’s the colorful sights and smells of the local markets, the fascinating life of locals along the canals, or the surprising existence of bountiful green belts, Co discovered the essence of what makes Bangkok one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Since then, it has been his mission to share these discoveries with the rest of the world.
What we do
Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co’s extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will.
We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge.
Bicycles, boats, and our feet become the tools we use to gain access to the previously inaccessible, behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Here the roots of an ancient culture will become evident in a way you never could have imagined.

HALFWAY TO ASIATIQUE THE RIVERFRONT | Walking Around Saphan Taksin BTS Station, Bangkok
HALFWAY TO ASIATIQUE THE RIVERFRONT | Walking Around Saphan Taksin BTS Station, Bangkok.
I started my walk from Saphan Taksin BTS Station and headed south towards Asiatique The Riverfront.
I didn't know how far Asiatique was from Saphan Taksin BTS Station but just decided to walk down the main road to see what this area was like.
There were lots and lots of kids around this area and the more I walked down I understood why. This side of Saphan Taksin was full of schools. Local and international schools and it was about the time they had all finish school for the day.
So there were plenty of kids making their way home from school or grabbing something to eat on their way home.
I kept on walking down this road not knowing where it would lead me or how far Asiatique The Riverfront was. So I stopped recording.
Little did I know, I was pretty much half was to Asiatique. But I continued walking down to explore what else this area had to offer.
I did see plenty of interesting little side streets that I plan on coming back and recording again.
But until then, I hope you enjoyed this walk that I took to Asiatique The Riverfront from Saphan Taksin BTS Station, even though it was half the way.
