Next to Divisoria, the shopping mecca of the Philippines, Baclaran Market sells some of the cheapest merchandise in Metro Manila. The market sells an assortment of kitchenwares, clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, school supplies, electronics, and devotional souvenirs like candles, vestments, rosaries, sampaguitas, and religious icons. When visiting Baclaran Market, be prepared to haggle with the vendors, and watch out for pickpockets. The market is hot and cramped, all the more so on Wednesdays, or Baclaran Day, when the nearby church attracts 120,000 visitors. The market comprise the whole Redemptionist Street, and forks off to various streets and alleys.
he church enshrines the icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, and is one of the largest Marian churches in the Philippines. Devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help is popular amongst Filipino Catholics, and gave rise to the throngs of devotees who flood the church every Wednesday to attend Mass and pray the Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help.[1] In Manila, Wednesdays are popularly called Baclaran Day due to congested roads brought on by pilgrims to the shrine.

Baclaran formerly spelled as Bacladan is a barangay (neighborhood district) located in northern area of the City of Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is also known to be located at the borders of the cities of Parañaque and Pasay.
The area is well known for the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help also known as the Redemptorist Church or Baclaran Church, dedicated to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. There was also once Muslim mosque, the Baclaran Mosque, now demolished by the City of Pasay. Baclaran is known for its children and youth membership to the Rondalla which won in NAMCYA way back 1996 and the Drum and Lyre Band, as well as its street welding.
It is also has a number of flea markets (tiangges), selling everything from clothes and electronics to home decorations and traditional medicine, which occupied the westbound lane of Taft Avenue. - CityCrawler is about city vlogging.
