Beijing tiger attack: Whose fault is it?
A court in Beijing Tuesday began a long-awaited hearing into whether Beijing Badaling Wildlife Park was responsible for a tiger attack that injured a woman surnamed Zhao and killed her mother. On November 15, 2016, Zhao and her father sued the park, and asked for 1.55 million yuan in compensation. However, the park said it had fulfilled its obligations of warning visitors, acting immediately during the accident and paying for the initial medical and accommodation fees on humanitarian grounds. The verdict will be announced at a later date. Chinese netizens reacted with a combination of shock and outrage. Who is to blame? The park or the victims?

One woman was killed and another injured after a pair of tigers pounced on them at Beijing's Badaling Wildlife Park on Saturday afternoon.
The tigers attacked one of the women when she left her vehicle and walked a few meters away from the car. The surveillance video footage shows the woman being dragged by the tiger, which prompted the second woman, who later turned out to be her mother, to rush for help. However, she didn't survive the attack.
While the park allows visitors to drive their own cars in a safari-style tour, they are prohibited to get out as the animals roam freely through the park. But the first woman got out of the car after an alleged argument, putting her life at risk, according to several media reports.
The park has been closed for the time being. But the weekend attack wasn’t the first. In August 2014, a security guard was killed in a tiger attack at the same park.

WOWED by Huanglong National Park, China: The Most Pristine National Park in China?!
Visiting Huanglong National Park was a dream come true for Cara. This place had been on my bucket list ever since we moved to China and found out it existed. Yet somehow after living in China for 4 years we never managed to make it there!!! Luckily our route through China went right by Huanglong National Park. Bucket list destination...check!
In short the park was INCREDIBLE. Not only was the scenery out of this world (no that blue water is not Photoshopped, it really looks like that) but Huanglong National Park was absolutely the most pristine place we've ever been to in China.

Tiger Attack Woman and kill in Beijing Badaling Chinese Safari Park after leave the car | 老虎攻击女人
A woman was mauled to death by a Siberian tiger and her female companion was injured while on a safari-style tour in China, state-run media reported Monday.
Part of the horrific attack at the Badaling Wildlife World animal park near Beijing on Saturday was caught on a security camera and provided to CNN by China's state television station CCTV. The park allows visitors to drive their vehicles through a tiger enclosure.
The video shows a woman get out of the passenger seat of a car and walk over to the driver. As the driver opens his door, the woman is suddenly grabbed from behind by a tiger and forcefully dragged away.
The video shows the driver and a second woman passenger rush to the woman's aid before a Jeep heads to the scene.
The rest happened off screen, but the state-run Xinhua news agency reported that the second woman was the one mauled to death -- by another tiger as she tried to rescue the first woman, who was injured.
Several signs at the park read: Cherish your life. Never get out of your car.
Xinhua reported that an investigation into the incident was underway and that the zoo had been temporarily closed.
The Beijing Tourism website says that the park is famous for raising fierce animals in large groups in open areas and that it has 10,000 wild animals, including brown bears, Malayan Sun bears, leopards and wild wolves.

A woman was eaten alive and another seriously injured after they jumped out of a car in a tiger enclosure at a Chinese safari park.
Dramatic video footage captures the middle-aged woman flouting the warnings by getting out of the car, and she was killed instantly after she followed the younger woman out of the car at the Badaling Wildlife World, near the Great Wall of China.
Both had ignored repeated warnings to stay inside the vehicle, according to local media.
Animal attacks are a common cause of either human fatalities or injuries. The frequency of animal attacks varies with geographical location. In the United States, a person is more likely to be killed by an animal than they are to die from being hit by lightning.
Animal attacks have been identified as a major public health problem. In 1997 it was estimated that up to 2 million animal bites occur each year in the United States. Injuries caused by animal attacks result in thousands of fatalities worldwide every year. All causes of death are reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention each year. Medical injury codes are used to identify specific cases. The World Health Organization uses identical coding, though it is unclear whether all countries keep track of fatalities caused by animals.
Tiger attacks are an extreme form of human–wildlife conflict which occur for various reasons and have claimed more human lives than attacks by any of the other big cats. The most comprehensive study of deaths due to tiger attacks estimates that at least 373,000 people died due to tiger attacks between 1800 and 2009, the majority of these attacks occurring in South and Southeast Asia. In Southeast Asia, attacks gradually declined after peaking in the nineteenth century, but attacks in South Asia have remained high, particularly in the Sundarban.
