Bairin-ji is a Rinzai temple in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Its honorary sangō prefix is Kōnanzan . It is known as a representative training dojo temple of the Myōshin-ji school in Kyushu which faces the clear stream of the Chikugo River.

Early Spring in Fukuoka, Japan 福岡の早春

Photos taken in late Februray of 2009 in Fukuoka, Japan. The first few photos were taken at Dazaifu Tenmangu (太宰府天滿宮), which is very famous for its plum blossoms. Also, each year countless students flock to Dazaifu Tenmangu to pray for good luck in their exams. The second set of pictures of plum blossoms were taken at Bairin-ji (梅林寺) in Kurume (久留米). The last set of photos of cherry blossoms and plum blossoms were taken at Miyajidake Shrine (宮地嶽神社) in Fukutsu (福津市).
