The Barnett Cemetery at Croft State Natural Area, South Carolina
An old family cemetery just off the road about a mile into the Park on the right-hand side. Graves here include those of Revolutionary War Veterans and their families. Still remembered; well tended. There's even a picnic table off to the side.

Dupont Hickory Trail Loop
The Dupont State Forest in North Carolina has over 50 miles of trails. Most are not too technical but offer a good mix of climbing and downhill flow to keep things pretty interesting. This was my first visit to these trails. I was on my CX (cyclocross) bike with 35mm tires so that added to both the difficulty and fun of the trail although my next visit will be with a proper mountain bike.
Shredding trails at Bays Mountain! Appalachian mountain biking!
Mountain biking with Polk and Graham at Bays Mountain Sept 4th, 2016. Was an awesome day Graham crashed a couple times and I had a super close call with a couple of trees :/ There is a mountain bike terrain park someone built with 4 natural features. Each of us had a couple turns using the go pro helmet mount, the crazy fast run was Polk, he is insane! Took us about 2.23 hours, went 9.79 miles, elevation gain was 733 ft. Also the music is just some demo stuff I recorded for Curbside Orchestra, #CurbsideOrchestra the first song is an original make-believe soul and I sing peace love and understanding the rest you know. I hope you don't get sick watching this, TROOOOOPS!! :P

Kings Mountain State Park | Destination SC State Parks RV Camping
In the summer of 2018 we traveled across the south to see family in North Carolina. On our way there we spent two nights RV camping in Kings Mountain State Park. Kings Mountain State Park is located on the northern edge of South Carolina just south of Charlotte North Carolina.
The Area around Kings Mountain State Park is of huge historical importance to the history of the United States as this was where a very important battle took place, The Battle Of Kings Mountain. Kings Mountain State Park provides you with a great place to camp in your RV but be advised that Kings Mountain State Park is a bit on the rough side.
Follow along with as as we journey across the South and back visiting so many beautiful different campsites! Come along with us on our fantastic trip!

Mellow Mushroom Restaurant Review - Hickory, NC
My first time eating at Mellow Mushroom in Hickory, NC. Nikki and I really enjoyed it. The humus and pita appetizer was great, the pizza was very tasty and perfectly prepared. The service (at least on this visit) was just great. The atmosphere at lunch was nice too. Lots of good classic rock and hippie vibe made me feel pretty at home. I really did enjoy the pizza. Nikki and I give it two thumbs up! Here's their website:
Cessna 172 flying over Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, NC
Coming from Rutherfordton 11-12-11 we flew west to Lake Lure, NC which is about midway to Asheville, NC. Circling around we flew a southeast heading back down the Hickory Nut Gorge and flew over the Rock. Awesome day with colors changing and not a cloud in the sky. Next time we're up that way I plan on flying thorugh the gorge and taking some eye level photo and video shots of the Rock. Anyone like to go?
