WHAT THINGS TO DO IN BALI: DAY TOUR FROM SEMINYAK TO UBUD
We were heading to our next destination to UBUD from Seminyak and did a day tour on the way which ended up being great. It was something we didn't plan until we got there. Our driver Komang also had recommendations for other places for us to explore e.g. the temples and the traditional textile making which were great. If you are ever in need of a driver, please let us know and we'll recommend the one we used for our stay in Bali.

Best Bali Tours: North South East West and Ubud Bali
The best Bali Tours shares the top tourist attractions and best areas to visit in North Bali, South Bali, East Bali, West Bali as well as central Ubud, Gianyar and Kintamani (full itinerary below). In total this quick list of Best Bali Tours took us 3 weeks, although there was a fair bit of relaxation between, and the same Bali tour could probably be covered in 2 weeks if hurried. Anyway, below is the full route of our Ultimate Tour of Bali starting from Ngurah Rai International Airport (near Denpasar) and travelling north to start in Ubud the cultural capital of Bali.
1. Ubud (Central Bali): Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Kecak Fire & Trance Dance (Pura Dalem Taman Kaja),
2. Gianyar Valleys (Ubud): HOSHINOYA Bali Resort
3. Day Tour 1: Tegenungan Waterfall, 2. Goa Gajah: Elephant Cave, 3. Uma Pakel Agrotourism: Kopi Luwak (civet cat crap coffee) and Giant Swing, 4. Tegalalang Rice Terrace, 5. Pura Tirta Empul Temple).
4. Day Tour 2: Ulun Danu Beratan, 2. Pura Ulun Danu Batur Temple, 3. Mount Batur View Point, 4. Besakih Temple).
5. Amed (East Bali): Local fishing scenes on Amed Beach and views of Mount Agung
6. Northern Bali Attractions: Various Rice fields/terraces, Gates to Heaven (Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang), Tirta Gangga Water Palace, Twin Lakes (Buyan Lake and Tambingan Lake), Ulun Danu Tamblingan Temple.
7. Lovina (North Bali): Lovina Dolphin Tour and local beach life.
8. North West Bali: Menjangan Dynasty Glamping Resort, Sumberkima Hill Resort, Sumberkima Bay tour with fish farms and Gili Putih Island, and sunset on Pemuteran Beach
9. Journey to South Bali: Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, Taman Ayun Temple, Seminyak
10. Nusa Lembongan: 1 Night at Mahagiri Resort
11. Nusa Penida: Crystal Beach, Broken Beach, Angel Billabong, T-Rex Bay (Kelingking Beach), Rumah Pohon Tree House, Diamond Beach, Atuh Beach.
12. Sanur: Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa
There are a couple of obvious omissions when it comes to tourist attractions in Bali, such as Tanah Lot, as well as the major beach resorts of southern Bali. However we have covered these destinations before as tourists (and have doubled/tripled up on some tourist attractions by now) and just prefer to avoid them because they are ridiculously touristy these days. Otherwise we aim to share the lesser-known attractions of Bali and the more off-the-beaten-track routes and tours in Bali.

RISKING AN UBER - SEMINYAK TO UBUD | Indonesia Travel Vlog 131, 2018 | Bali Taxi
Uber in Bali is sort of frowned upon, but Seminyak to Ubud was definitely cheaper than a taxi and worth the risk! ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Going from Seminyak to Ubud got interesting... Taxis have a bit of a strong hold on the Bali market, (possibly all of Indonesia), theres areas that Uber aren't welcome, other than drop offs, and a lot of Seminyak falls into that area. We're not 100% sure if our location in Seminyak was one of those areas, but we eventually managed to get an Uber and make our way to Ubud.
Ubud is an awesome spot, we have a lot of vlog to come from here soon, its got a very different feel to Seminyak and shows another side of Bali as a whole.
Just keep in mind with Taxis in Bali to stick with Bluebird Group Taxis only, theyre legit and run strictly off the meter so you won't get ripped off.

White Water Rafting Bali - CHEAP Ubud Day Trip Vlog
From Gili Air, we're heading back to Ubud on our return ticket we had purchased. Gili Air was an awesome tropical get away but we were ready to explore Bali more and get a little more adventurous, taking a River Rafting trip.
Once we arrived at the Bali docks we were briefly warned about taxi scam guys that will be pushy and to not give them your bus transfer ticket. Then as we arrived and they opened the doors, boom like 10 taxi guys literally boarded the boat and stood in the walk ways trying to get people to hand over their tickets for the free ride, yet you are supposed to take your ticket to the parking lot and meet the uniformed employees. We pushed our way through them eventually and got our luggage while being constantly asked if we needed a taxi. (No one does, everyone gets transfers) We started heading to the parking lot with one scammer thinking he could trick us into not waiting 3 hours for the van pick up. Left and right we saw other tourists giving over their passes to non uniformed random guys so the poor souls would have had to end up booking a taxi through the scammers now instead anyway. Once we arrived at the uniformed employees we started to load a van and the other random guy was still trying to convince us to go with him but we got in and were set. I even clarified with the driver that it was indeed official, and that I wouldn't have to pay more, and that I won't pay anymore at the end regardless if he asks then haha. Quite the ordeal but from there it was a van ride and settling into our next hotel in upper Ubud!
Our Ubud hotel was located on the northern end of Ubud a good distance from town so we got to still enjoy a bit more of a rural setting. We ended up getting a bigger room than we planned and the hotel itself also had a restaurant attached so we kicked back and settled in. We enjoyed taking walks around the little local community and had lunch at a nice little local warung. Luke ended up getting pretty sick that night, the day before our rafting trip of course but ended up waking up feeling able to do the rafting.
The water rafting trip was a scenic drive through Bali and up the hillside to get to the start of the long river. We always find an enjoyment in long rides getting to see so much of the countryside at least compared to walking everywhere a lot. We stopped at a quick scenic viewpoint for an amazing view of Bali and then it was back up the mountain to the rafts. The rafting company was one of many companies that all share the start of the river and have different pull over stops down the river but ours was a good one thankfully.
Being from BC, Canada we have white water rafting around us but neither of us have actually ever tried it here so will need to add that to the to do list, after enjoying this. The 'rapids' still gave you a good amount of speed and there was plenty of pumps and cliffs and amazing views to take in. We really enjoyed taking in all the surroundings and senses, the air smelt like what you would imagine a Bali Rainforest scent to smell, with the humidity all around as well it was quite neat. To anyone considering rafting we would definitely recommend it if you need something to do in Bali besides always being in the busy areas. It really is a good little thrill and the views and experience of floating 18 kilometers down a mountain river is pretty awesome.
Coming up in the next Bali Vlog series, we're out of Ubud for good this time and off to Jimbaran, near Kuta and the airport. We check out the MASSIVE Garuda statue and enjoy a fun area.
Cheers friends and until next time,
Luke and Alysha

The Bali Travel Guide serves as a guide and inspiration for people looking to travel to Bali for the first time. The Bali guide suggests sights to see, activities to do, or dishes to eat. It includes my top things to do and places to visit in Bali and is based on my travel to Bali during the summer of 2017. I spent roughly two weeks on the island visiting Ubud, the Gili Islands, and Seminyak.
I tried to add as much helpful information as I could, which I hope provides a good idea on how to travel Bali or at least serve as a form of inspiration. DIRT CHEAP Ubud Bali Shopping ( With Prices $$ ) - Explore Indonesia Market ????????
Shopping in Bali Indonesia is shocking experience we had of course from bargaining, Balinese vendor reaction and how cheap it is - This is the Ultimate Guide On shopping in Bali (with prices !! of course ) We spent one day exploring the Ubud Market in Bali, together with Sukawati market which is not far from Ubud art market at all. This is our first time shopping in Bali and It was a great shopping experience I hope you enjoy it!
SHOPPING IN UBUD :
The Ubud Art Market, locally referred to as 'Pasar Seni Ubud' is located opposite the Puri Saren Royal Ubud Palace and is open daily. Here you can find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, baskets or hats; statues, kites, and many other hand-crafted goods. Most of the goods found at the Ubud Market are made in the neighboring villages of Pengosekan, Tegallalang, Payangan, and Peliatan. The location of the Ubud Art Market which is centered among the art producing villages, and being just opposite the royal palace which is a center point to Ubud itself, make it a strategic shopping place for Balinese handicrafts and souvenirs. The Ubud market also serves as a setting for the Hollywood movie Eat Pray Love, which shows a scene where actress Julia Roberts opposite a male character strolling through the stalls which are frequently visited by foreign and domestic visitors in real life. Naturally, bargaining is essential.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
UBUD – RICE TERRACES AND MOUNTAIN ROAD RIVERS | Bali Roadtrip Day 5 + 6 | TRAVEL VLOG #11

We started in Amed and had to drive through no less than three mountain road rivers before we finally gave up on our beach plans and headed to Ubud! We went to see the Tegalalang rice terraces and the art market and had a lot of delicious food because that's something you HAVE to do when you're in Ubud!

Hi there! I'm Anne-Li – Danish girl, globetrotter, travel vlogger, blogger and digital nomad traveling the world with my partner in crime and long-term boyfriend Mathias. Spending a month in Budapest every summer taught us that traveling does not have to be expensive and that slow travel is the way to go – for us.
We have been traveling full-time since September 2016, and we usually base ourselves in one place for at least a month or two. This way of traveling is not only budget friendly – it also means that we can take our time and really explore and enjoy the place we're in. We eat local food, shop at local markets, meet local people and enjoy experiencing different cultures – all the while seeking out the best wifi and exploring everything there is to explore. Ubud Bali Indonesia: Single Day Trip is Possible!
You might be going to Ubud Bali for day tours to places that are near the city. However, the city centre has a bit to offer as well, and you should not miss the exciting activities in Ubud itself with a single day trip. You could even make a day trip from Seminyak and see quite a bit.
In this travel video, we'll show you the things to do in Ubud that don't involve leaving the city.
1. Ridgewalk - this should be done at sunrise or sunset
2. Monkey Forest Sanctuary - go at any time, but earlier is better to avoid crowds
3. Rice Field Walk - yes, the terraces are beautiful, but right in Ubud are these lovely fields
4. Temples - there are a lot, we visited Saraswati Temple
5. City Market - it's just fun to shop, obviously. Bali has some unique items!
6. Restaurants - there are tons, just pick a few
Hopefully this was helpful - you could totally spend a few days in Ubud and take it more leisurely, however, we're seeing the world at a breakneck pace so we have to be quick about our tourism!

Hi, We are Jimmy and Tah,
American and Thai Millennials left a career in military and finance to become full-time travelers, documenting our memories along the way. Met in August 2015 in South Korea, kicked off traveling in September 2017 with $4000 in a savings account and first started publishing our journey on the way we live the life we have always dreamt of - traveling and being able to work wherever we love ( as long as there are Wi-Fi and coffee)
