A Summer Day in Boulder Colorado, a Time Lapse Perspective
I started shooting this time lapse of the flatirons and bear peak at sunrise. Then I hiked to the top of bear peak and, using two more cameras, captured time lapse for many hours from the top of bear peak. When ominous thunderstorms moved in, I quickly packed my gear and hiked back down. Enjoy!

Denver Four Hot Air Balloons Crash In An Hour
Denver Four Hot Air Balloons Crash In An Hour
At least five people are hurt in the series of crashes which happened within miles of each other amid reports of high wind speeds. At least five people have been injured after four hot air balloons crashed to the ground on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado.
The accidents all happened within miles and about an hour of each other on Saturday amid reports of high wind speeds.
One person was injured when one of the balloons hit power lines and sparked a small fire, police in the suburb of Arvada said.
Three people were in the basket when the balloon crashed near the intersection of state highways 72 and 93 at about 8am local time.
After hitting the ground, the balloon was reportedly dragged about 300ft into power lines.
Another balloon went down in Boulder County, according to Denver TV station KUSA-TV.
The balloon's basket hit the ground hard and was dragged along for about 50 yards before coming to rest.
A third crash was reported in Louisville, but authorities say no one was injured.
And a fourth balloon went down in the Rocky Flats area south of Boulder.
Gusty winds were reported to have swept the area on Saturday morning, but it is unclear if strong winds were to blame for the crashes and an investigation is under way.
The extent of the victims' injuries was not immediately known.

USA BALLOONING
World Balloon Championships end in Michigan, awards ceremony.
The colourful spectacle of the World Hot Air Balloon Championships came to an end in Battle Creek, Michigan recently, with victory going to a home competitor. American David Levin from Boulder, Colorado, proved his aeronautical skills superior to all others during the week long tournament. The championship tested entrants ability to navigate and descend accurately to land on defined targets. Over 100 of the world's greatest balloonists took part from 25 countries, including, for the first time, an entry from the People's Republic of China. Second place behind Levin went to Crispin Williams of Great Britain, with another American, Bill Cunningham, taking third place.

Wind Sends Porta-Potties Flying at Denver Park
Strong winds sent two portable toilets sailing into the air at a Colorado park. Video showed one of the porta-potties flying high over the park-goers, spraying a mysterious substance. The second toilet appears to break apart as it blows away. Porta-Potties can weigh up to 300 pounds. The viral video was posted on Facebook Monday and has since racked up over 1 million views. The wind also wreaked havoc on a tent. It's not clear whether anyone was injured.

Description: Traveling around Denver on a Sunny Rocky Mountain Mile High City kind of day, I captured this D5100 Miniature Test Video as I strolled along.
From 16th Street Mall to Coors Field as the Colorado Rockies took on the Chicago Cubs in a Victory. We test the Time lapse video mode on the D5100 which is capable of capturing miniature effects in a Tilt Shift Style of Photography.
Denver rests proudly at a mile above Sea Level giving it the nickname The Mile High City
I captured building, Trains, busses, Light-Rail, the river, people, lofts, and the Downtown denver Scene including Coors Field and areas of LoDo.
Learning the Miniature Mode on the D5100 is touchy. It takes practice to learn where to focus the scene to get the best appearance. with some slight adjustment and the proper elevation, you can get your Nikon D5100 miniature effects to get attention.

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta:-
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is held annually in England. Teams from the UK and other parts of the world bring their hot air balloons to the site and participate in mass ascents where as many as 100 balloons may launch at a time.
The event was first held in 1979 and is now one of the largest in Europe. It is common to have crowds of over 100,000 on each of the four days of the festival.[1] It takes place in a large country estate Ashton Court. Mass launches are made twice a day, at 6am and 6pm, subject to weather conditions.
Location of Ashton Court, where Fiesta takes place
One popular attraction is the night glow, when balloons are inflated and glow to music after dark. These are held on the opening Thursday night at approx 9:30pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. There is another night glow at the same time followed by the fireworks on the Saturday night. Some people see these as the highlight of the fiesta.[2]
The balloon makers Cameron Balloons are near to the fiesta site, in Bedminster, and make many of the special shaped balloons, which have included Rupert the Bear, The Scottish Piper, Bertie Bassett, the Tesco Trolley, Stuart the Minion, and the BBC One Balloon. Many shapes have also attended the fiesta from abroad, over the years a UFO and a beaver have travelled from the USA, a kiwi bird from New Zealand, and an upside down balloon from the Netherlands.
In the past, the fiesta used to be held in the second week of September, but due to cancellations of flights and the muddy ground because of bad weather, it has been moved in the start of August. This has had a great effect as more flights manage to fly; cancellations are now normally due to high winds.
The nightglow is one of the most popular parts of the fiesta.
In 2003, the weight of crowds returning from the Balloon Fiesta and Ashton Court festival put such a great strain on the Clifton Suspension Bridge that it was decided to close the bridge to all traffic, including pedestrians, during these events from 2004 onwards.[3]
In recent years, the event has diversified to include small scale air displays, attracting the likes of The Blades, Typhoon display team and the Red Arrows.
On 10 August 2013 they broke a balloon fiesta record after 74 balloons landed in one field near the former Somerdale Factory in Keynsham. [4] The record was then broken a year later, when 90 balloons again landed in the former Cadbury's chocolate factory on 9 August.[5]
United States:
The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S.) or America (/əˈmɛrɪkə/), is a federal republic[16][17] composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions.[fn 6] Forty-eight states and the federal district are contiguous and located in North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is in the northwest corner of North America, bordered by Canada to the east and across the Bering Strait from Russia to the west. The state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific Ocean. The U.S. territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, stretching across nine official time zones. The extremely diverse geography, climate and wildlife of the United States make it one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries.[19]
At 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million km2)[20] and with over 324 million people, the United States is the world's third- or fourth-largest country by total area,[fn 7] and the third-most populous. The capital is Washington, D.C., and the largest city is New York City; twelve other major metropolitan areas—each with at least 4.5 million inhabitants—are Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Riverside.
