Baltimore Transit Company Trolleys

The Baltimore Streetcar Museum (BSM) is a non-profit museum located at 1901 Falls Road (MD 25) in Baltimore, Maryland. The museum is dedicated to preserving Baltimore's public transportation history, especially the streetcar era. The museum is open noon to 5 p.m. Sundays throughout the year and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, June through October.

Baltimore Streetcar Museum (with Ma & Pa RR Stuff & Classic Photos) (April 21 2013)
Our latest visit (as of the above date, anyway) to Baltimore's Streetcar Museum.
We begin inside the museum where we first check out the Ma & Pa (as in Maryland & Pennsylvania) RR displays before going on to classic streetcar photos. Here we see photos of how life once was in Ellicott City, Catonsville, Halethorpe and Hamilton (definitely must-see photos!!) as well as downtown Baltimore.
We then step out to check out the cars themselves-along with CSX and, MORE important-what's left from the Ma & Pa days. We look around the former freight station (now used by BSM)-now and in a 1973 photo. I'm there too, in a 1973 photo at age 19, standing by the road just being myself! But please don't laugh at my pants from back then!
After presenting another interesting streetcar fact we head back to the museum. We finally end with a feverish attempt to grab an Amtrak runby heading for Penn Station.

Highlandtown Christmas Holiday Train Garden, Baltimore, MD, US - Part 1

Over 2,000 visitors to last years garden were delighted to see model trains and streetcars travel along the track to pass by animated carnival rides, Santa workshop, and a miniature Highlandtown with storefronts representing landmarks like Hoehns Bakery, Stellas Bridal Fashions, National Lumber and Hardware and the Frank Zappa statue.

Ma & Pa RR Stations in Maryland (with classic pix)
NOTE: I uploaded this just as YT joined Google+. For some reason it's not allowing me to answer comments! But a big Thanx to all those viewing...and commenting! Hopefully YT can fix their mess!!
Here are all remaining Ma & Pa RR stations south of the Mason-Dixon!
I had to catch the first of them, Homeland, on the fly! It's a private home and I doubt the residents would be big on me setting up a tripod and photographing away (though, I would figure, they'd expect it to a certain extent)!
Then, like it or not, we view two stations shown in a previous vid (Glen Arm and Hydes). This way my viewers don't have to go to another vid to view them!
Then on to Vale Station, which is unfortunately in decrepid state! Here some realigning of the main was done, moving it further from the station! I included a photo showing both alignments. The Vale freight station also still exists and is used now as a home.
Wet then check out one section of the Ma & Pa Trail in the Bel Air area. The Bel Air station is gone, but again I threw in a couple classic pix!
The last remaining station, going north, is Forest Hill-fortunately still there, and being upkept! It now serves as a hobby shop, but was a lawyer's office for a while in the 1980s. And the sign disallowing commuter parking for a RR no longer operating is still there!
These are all the MD stations that are left unfortunately! The next ones are in Pennsylvania, and will be featured in a later vid. However, you can view one now! The Muddy Creek Forks PA station:

BSM Car #4533, All Aboard! a 1904 Brill Streetcar
Here is video from the Baltimore Streetcar Museum, as the weekend passengers are welcomed on board Streetcar # 4533. Streetcar # 4533 is a United Railway and Electric Company model, built by J.G. Brill in 1904. Many families line up to take an educational spin around the BSM tracks. Open Sundays all year round, the BSM is the place to be if you want to take a ride down Nostalgia Road. The BSM is a blast for kids also, as you will see, because they are under the tutelage of Baltimore's finest Conductors, skilled in the transportation of passengers through Streetcar History.

Here are the last four trolley lines to operate in New York City: #35 The Church Avenue Line, #68 The Coney Avenue Line, #50 The MacDonald Avenue Line, all in Brooklyn shown operating with the famous PCC (President’s Conference Car). The last line is the Queensborough Bridge Railway, covered in fascinating detail from Queens Plaza on Long Island to the underground terminal in New York City. The film features some of the last trips in 1956 and transportation of car 1001 to the Shore Line Trolley Museum in Connecticut.
Lightship Chesapeake, Baltimore Maryland
The Lightship Chesapeake was built in 1930. It marked several locations in both the Chesapeake and Delaware bays, even being armed with cannons and converted to a military vessel during WWII, the Chesapeake served faithfully until being decommissioned in 1970. It is now part of the Baltimore maritime museum.
