Fire near Bandon Stables
A spark from an earlier house fire resulted in a second fire a couple of hours later in the field just south of the Bandon Beach Riding Stables. Fortunately the horses were moved to safety and no one was hurt. The fire crew was there fast and in full force. One more example of why fire and gorse and high wind is a very bad combination.

Horseback Riding, Oregon Coast, Florence, OR
We went on a horseback ride along the beach and dunes in Florence, OR. It was very very windy but it was a ton of fun too. Make sure you know the weather conditions on the beach before you go so you can dress properly like we did!

This video was produced in 2002. Produced by Maritime New Zealand and NZITO.
Crossing the Bar is without doubt, one of the most dangerous activities in commercial fishing.
In this introduction video, the stories of four incidents are told, and the statistics of ten years-worth of incidents are presented. The skippers discuss the physical and mental impacts upon them. Other skippers join in, to develop the themes and the women talk movingly about how it feels standing on the sideline.
