Barcelona city - a sightseeing tour
Barcelona, the capital of the province of Catalonia of Spain, is located at the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, not far from the French border. For clear reason, Barcelona is one of the most visited cities in Europe. Barcelona offers a large and varied entertainment program (besides the famous FC Barcelona). This include the famous La Rambla, the colorful market hall Mercat de la Boqueria, the incredibly diverse city center with its many streets and shops, the Cathedral, the many buildings and parks created by Antoni Gaudí, including the Sagrada Familia and the Parc Guell. A great view of the city can be enjoyed from Tibidabo, the cable car over the old harbor and the Castell Montjuïc. Enjoy the sightseeing tour along the many and beautiful sights.

TRAVEL SPAIN WITH IREM OZEL | BARCELONA TRAVEL GUIDE 2019 | CATALONIA | Episode: 01 | Irem Ozel
Hello Everyone, hope you enjoy my weekly Vlogs.
Inspiring video's about Life style, and Travelling.
Catalonia Square, sometimes referred to as Plaza de Cataluña, is a large square in central Barcelona that is generally considered to be both its city centre and the place where the old city and the 19th century-built Eixample meet. It is especially known for its fountains and statues, its proximity to some of Barcelona's most popular attractions, and the flocks of pigeons that gather in the centre. It is connected by the famous La Rambla street, the most famous touristic street for restaurants and eateries. It stretches for 1.2 kilometres connecting Plaça de Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell. We booked our hotel at this famous lively street La Rambla, that is super crowded during tourist season.

Video about Barcelona
This is a video about Barcelona produced by Spain-holiday.com. Watch our Barcelona travel video and be inspired to visit Barcelona.
History
There are two legends that surround the history of Barcelona; one attributes the founding of the city to the mythological Hercules, 400 years before Rome. The second attributes the founding of the city in the 3rd century BC to the Carthaginian ruler Hamilcar Barca, the father of Hannibal.
The Romans took the town over as a military camp, but at the time the city was eclipsed by its neighbour Tarragona. There are some important Roman ruins that were exposed a few years ago under the Placa del Rei (Kings Plaza).
The city was then invaded and occupied by the Moors and later conquered by the Counts of Barcelona.
During the Franco years the region of Catalonia was extremely suppressed with the Catalan language and Catalonian institutions abolished.
The City
Barcelona is a dynamic, open Mediterranean city. It's the perfect city to relax, stroll around and enjoy its unique way of life.
Barcelona offers so much to the cultural visitor, there is so much to see, something new and interesting awaits around every corner: Gothic architecture, the famous Las Ramblas avenue, Gaudi's Güel Parc and the unfinished La Sagrada
Cathedral, the old Raval quarter, La Ribera and La Barceloneta, a beachside ravel of corridor style streets where you can find some fantastic local
restaurants and bars, away from the typical tourist area.
Getting around Barcelona is easy. You can pretty much walk around the whole city. They also have a daily rent-a-bike system and the Metro is very good and simple to use.
