बटेश्वर - भदावर की काशी Bateshwar, Famous Fairs in India, बटेश्वर मंदिरों का शहर है जो पवित्र यमुना नदी के तट पर बसा हुआ है। इस शहर का नाम वटेश्वरनाथजी के नाम पर पड़ा है जो भगवान शिव के अनेक नामों में से एक है। यह माना जाता है कि भगवान शिव इस तीर्थ शहर के इष्टदेव हैं। पवित्र यमुना नदी के तट पर बसे होने के कारण बटेश्वर में बहुत सारे मंदिर है। असल में, यहाँ एक समय में कुल 101 मंदिर हुआ करते थे जिसमें से 42 मंदिर अभी भी यहाँ मौजूद हैं। इस तीर्थ शहर की असली सुंदरता यहाँ घाटों पर मौजूद मंदिरों की श्रृंखला में है। आज भी, यहाँ के कुछ मंदिरों की छतों पर सुंदर मूल भित्ति-चित्र मौजूद हैं जो कि पारंपरिक वनस्पति रंगों द्वारा बनाए गए थे। इस तीर्थ का वर्णन पुराणिक शास्त्रों में भी किया गया है जैसे कि रामायण, महाभारत, मत्स्या पुराण इत्यादि। इसके अलावा, यह शहर 8वीं सदी से लेकर 17वीं सदी तक कई महान राजाओं का मुख्य राज्य रहा जैसे कि गुर्जर, चंदेला एवं भदावर राजा। आज से लगभग 400 सालों पूर्व राजा बदन सिंह (भदावर वंश) ने बटेश्वर को अपनी राजधानी के रूप में तब्दील कर दिया था।
जैन शास्त्रों में भी बटेश्वर का वर्णन किया गया है। दंतकथा के अनुसार 22वे तीर्थंकर भगवान नेमीनाथजी का जन्म यहीं हुआ था। वर्तमान में यहाँ कई सुंदर जैन मंदिर हैं। बटेश्वर मंदिरों के अलावा यहाँ लगने वाले वार्षिक पशु मेले के लिए भी मशहूर है जो चार शतक से आयोजित किया जा रहा है। यह मेला आज भी उसी स्थान पर आयोजित किया जाता है जहाँ राजा बदन सिंह के समय में होता था। बटेश्वर के मंदिर सुबह के सूरज की रौशनी में यमुना में पड़ते अपने प्रतिबिम्ब से एक मोहक चित्रमाला प्रस्तुत करते है ऐसा आइना तो पास ही स्थित विश्व आश्चर्य ताजमहल के पास भी नहीं है पूरा परिदृश्य बेहद सुन्दर और शांतिपूर्ण है ।

बाह से दस किलोमीटर उत्तर मे यमुना नदी के किनारे बाबा भोले नाथ का प्रसिद्ध स्थान बटेश्वर धाम है। यहां पर हर साल कार्तिक शुक्ल पक्ष दूज से बहुत बडा मेला लगता है, और भगवान शिव के एक सौ एक मन्दिर यमुना नदी के किनारे पर यहां के तत्कालीन राजा महाराज भदावर ने बनवाये थे। बटेश्वर धाम के लिये एक कथा कही जाती है, कि राजा भदावर के और तत्कालीन राजा परमार के यहां उनकी रानियो ने गर्भ धारण किया, और दोनो राजा एक अच्छे मित्र थे, दोनो के बीच समझौता हुआ कि जिसके भी कन्या होगी, वह दूसरे के पुत्र से शादी करेगा, राजा परमार और राजा भदावर दोनो के ही कन्या पैदा हो गई, और राजा भदावर ने परमार को सूचित कर दिया कि उनके पुत्र पैदा हुआ है, उनकी झूठी बात का परमार राजा को पता नही था, वे अपनी कन्या को पालते रहे और राजा भदावर के पुत्र से अपनी कन्या का विवाह करने के लिये बाट जोहते रहे। जब राजा भदावर की कन्या को पता लगा कि उसके पिता ने झूठ बोलकर राजा परमार को उसकी लडकी से शादी का वचन दिया हुआ है, तो वह अपने पिता के वचन को पूरा करने के लिये भगवान शिव की आराधना यहीं बटेश्वर नामक स्थान पर करने लगी। जब राजा परमार की खबरें राजा भदावर के पास आने लगीं कि अब शादी जल्दी की जाये, उधर राजा भदावर की कन्या अपने पिता की लाज रखने के लिये तपस्या करने लगी, और उसकी विनती न सुनी जाने के कारण उसने अपने पिता की लाज को बचाने हेतु यमुना नदी मे आत्महत्या के लिये छलांग लगा दी। भगवान शिव की की गई आराधना का चम्त्कार हुआ, और वह कन्या पुरुष रूप मे इसी स्थान पर उत्पन हुई, राजा भदावर ने उसी कारण से इस स्थान पर एक सौ एक मन्दिरों का निर्माण करवाया, जो आज बटेश्वर नाम से प्रसिद्ध हैं। यहां पर यमुना नदी चार किलोमीटर तक उल्टी धारा के रूप मे बही हैं
बटेश्वर नाथ मंदिर बहुत प्राचीन मंदिर है। बटेश्वर यमुना नदी के तट पर आगरा (उत्तर प्रदेश) से 70 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है। बटेश्वर एक समृद्ध इतिहास के साथ सबसे पुराने गांवों में से एक है। यह भारत में महत्वपूर्ण आध्यात्मिक और सांस्कृतिक केंद्र में से एक है। बटेश्वर स्थल यमुना और शौरीपुर के तट पर स्थित 101 शिव मंदिरों के लिए जाना जाता है। हिंदुओं के भगवान शिव के सम्मान में यमुना नदी तट पर स्थित बटेश्वर धाम की तीर्थयात्रा करते हैं। कुछ मंदिरों की दीवारों और छत में आज भी सुन्दर आकृतियां बनी हुई है। 22वें तीर्थंकर प्रभु नेमिनाथ शौरीपुर में पैदा हुआ थे। इस क्षेत्र के रूप में अच्छी तरह से जैन पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करती है।
यमुना के तट पर एक पंक्ति में 101 मंदिर स्थित हैं जिनको राजा बदन सिंह भदौरिया द्वारा बनाया गया था। राजा बदन सिंह ने यमुना नदी के प्रवाह को जो कभी पश्चिम से पूर्व कि ओर था उसको बदल कर पूर्व से पश्चिम की ओर अर्थात् बटेश्वर की तरफ कर दिया गया था। इन मंदिरों को यमुना नदी के प्रवाह से बचाने के लिए एक बांध का निर्माण भी राजा बदन सिंह भदौरिया द्वारा किया गया था। बटेश्वर नाथ मंदिर का रामायण, महाभारत, और मत्स्य पुराण के पवित्र ग्रंथों में इसके उल्लेख मिलता है।
बटेश्वर मेला
यहां हर साल एक बड़ा पशु मेला अक्टूबर और नवंबर के महीने में (प्रतिवर्ष कार्तिक मास) आयोजित किया जाता है। शिव का एक नाम पशुपति भी है, बटेश्वर का पशुमेला इसे सार्थक करता है। बटेश्वर का पशुओं का मेला पूरे भारत में प्रसिद्ध है तथा इस मेले का आनन्द लेने के लिए देश-विदेश से पर्यटक आते हैं। यहां मेला तीन चरणों मे पूरा होता है, पहले चरण में ऊँट, घोड़े और गधों की बिक्री होती है, दूसरे चरण में गाय आदि अन्य पशुओं की तथा अंतिम चरण में सांस्कृतिक रंगा रंग कार्यक्रम होते हैं। मेला शुरू होने के एक सप्ताह पहले से ही पशु-व्यापारी अपने पशु लेकर यहां पहुँचने लगते हैं। मेले में पशुओं की विभिन्न प्रकार की दौड़ों का आयोजन भी किया जाता है। बटेश्वर के इस छोटे से शहर में अब तक शहर के व्यस्त जीवन से मन की शांति प्रदान करता है जो हिन्दुओं और जैनियों के लिए पर्यटकों के आकर्षण का प्रमुख स्थान है।

The statue of Lord Pratishtha that is the only one in the whole universe. Ten kilometers north of Bah Tehsil of Agra district, the famous pilgrimage of Lord Shiva on the bank of river Yamuna is Betswarvara Dham. In this temple, Shiva is shown in horror eyes and mustache, while the seating of Parvati and Parvati is similar to that of Seth-Sethani. These sculptures are the only one in the world. It is also said that here on the mound, Maharaj Ugrasen had got a brace, which he had stopped in the box and was flushed after birth.
Friends, Bateshwar has become a holy place for grand Shiva temples today. There are 101 temples in a line on the banks of Yamuna, which were built by King Badan Singh Bhadauria. Raja Badan Singh changed the flow of the river Yamuna, which was from east to west, changed it from east to west towards Vituveshwar. To protect these temples from the river Yamuna, a dam was also constructed by King Badan Singh Bhadauria.
This temple contains the statues of the entire Shiva family
Yes Friends In this temple, the statue of the entire Shiva family is established, which is very beautiful and fulfilling desire. In these temples, hours are also offered after wished. Here the bronze hours ranging from 2 kg to 80 kg are hanging.
There is a rare idol (in the photo) of Lord Shiva, Parvati and Ganesh in the Gaurishankar temple. There is also Nandi, the Kartikeya sitting on the peacock on the front wall and the sun statues on the seven horses.
This huge temple dedicated to Shiva has a high domed roof on the walls and its sanctum is equipped with colorful paintings. There is an artistic pavilion in front of the sanctum. This temple has a thousand pillars of lamps which are called Saharsa lamp columns.
In the Manidov temple there are manshore statues of Goddess Mannike of Ala-Udal, which are of stone stone. It seems simple from near, but as soon as they are removed, then there is shivaling and gem fire.

Bateshwar is a village in Agra District, on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India. Bateshwar is in between Agra and Etawah and is 5 km from Bah. It is an important spiritual and cultural centre for Hindus and Jains. It is known for the 101 Shiv Temple Complex. An annual religious and animal fair is also organised in the village ground area.

Bateshwar complex, spread in 10 hectares of land in ravines of Chambal near Morena District of Madhya Pradesh comprises of nearly 200 Hindu Temples. The shrines of Bateshwar temple-complex are dedicated mostly to Shiva and a few to Vishnu. The temples are made of sandstone and belong to the 8-10th century CE. They were built during the reign of Gurjara-Pratihara Dynasty, 300 years before Khajuraho temples were built.
This complex was long forgotten and badly damaged with time. Shri K.K. Muhammed, then superintendent, Bhopal circle of Archaeological Survey of India took the responsibility of restoring it to its original glory in 2005. He had to take help of dacoits of Chambal to restore these temples and later faced heat of mining mafia. This video takes you through his journey of restoring the complex and the challenges he faced.

BATESHWAR GROUP OF TEMPLES बटेश्वर, भारत के सबसे पुराने मंदिरों की रहस्यमयी यात्रा - सातवीं से आठवीं शताब्दी के दौर में गुर्र्जर और प्रतिहार राजाओं द्वारा बनाए गए लाघ्बघ 200 मंदिरों का समूह 13वीं सदी में किसी अनजान कारण से पूरी तरह से नष्ट होकर ढह गए थे . 2005 में भारतीय पुरातात्विक सर्वेक्षण विभाग के अधिकार के के मोहम्मद ने अपनी टीम की सहायता से यहाँ की पुनर्स्थापना शुरू की और अपनी मेहनत के दम पर खंडहर बन गए इन मंदिरों को दुबार ज़िंदा कर के आज इसे फिर से खूबसूरत मंदिर समूह का रूप दे दिया है. अभी भी यहाँ काम शुरू है और भविष्य में ये जगह दुनिया में सबसे प्राचीन और खूबसूरत मंदिर समूह समूहों में शामिल होकर पर्यटन का बड़ा केंद्र बन कर सामने आएगी .!

Shauripur is being named after Sauri of the Yadu dynasty. Shauripur is the land of Chyavan and birth kalyanas of Bhagawan Neminatha. It the book ‘Vividh Kalap’ written by one of the Acharyas of the 14th century there is a mention of the renovation and the installation of the idol of Bhagawan Neminatha. Many Jain Ascetics have attained salvation from this place. Apart from the idol of Bhagawan Neminatha at the Digambara Jain temple we can find the idols of Bhagawan Munisuvrata, Chandraprabha, Mahavira, Adinatha and Vimalanatha in the padmasana and the idols of Bhagawan Bahubali and Neminatha in the Kayotsarga. We can also find an idol of Kshetrapala at this temple. Apart from the Old Jain Digambar temple, The Baruamath Digambar Jain temple can also be found
Shauripur Siddh Kshetra
Baruva Matha: It is the most ancient temple of Shouripur, which is constructed on a platform. The quite magnificent Black stone’s Khadgasana idol of principal deity Bhagwan Neminath was reverenced in Veer Nirvan Samvat 2480. This idol is 8 feet high. There is a spire made of stone above the idol and behind idol there is an artistic halo is present carved in stone. On the feet base (Charan Peeth) the two lions are constructed facing each other and in between these two there is an image of Conch shell.
In Yadav Jains, there is a tradition of lightening of ‘Diya’ on Kartik Shukla 14 here whenever there is death of any Yadav Jain takes place. Among Vaishnav Yadav Vanshi’s this ‘Diya’ is lighted in Bateshwar on waters of Yamuna River.
Shankha Dhwaj Mandir: This temple is constructed on the second story. There are 4 altars present in the sanctum of this temple. In central altar idol of principal deity Bhagwan Neminath are installed. There are two idols of 11th – 12th century installed in this temple and the idols of Bhagwan Parshvanath, Bhagwan Chandraprabhu & Bhagwan Vimalnath reverenced in V.S. 1357 (I. S. 1300) are collectively installed in the second altar of this temple. Many other artistic ancient idols are also installed here.
Panch Mathi: On the left hand side of Shankha Dhwaj Mandir the ancient Tonks & spires (umbrellas) are constructed in one ground which is surrounded by walls from all sides. This place is called as Panch Mathi. The foot images of Muni ‘Yama’ & Muni ‘Dhanya’ are installed here

The name Bateshwar is derived from the main Bateshwarnath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (Bateshwarnath Mahadev). As per the mythology and legends, here under a marvelous Banyan tree (Bat in Sanskrit), lived a Shiv devotional eremite, who raised a shrine to Shiva that came to be known as Bat-Ishwar; the banyan lord.
