Batsto - Stories In The Pines
An introductory video to Historic Batsto Village, located within Wharton State Forest. Batsto Village is the site of a former bog iron and glass making industrial center (1766 - 1867) that currently reflects the agricultural and commercial enterprises that existed here during the late 19th century. This Pine Barrens village consists of thirty-three historic buildings and structures including the Batsto Mansion, gristmill, sawmill, general store, workers' homes and post office. Batsto Village in Wharton State Forest began as an Iron Works site along Batsto River in 1766. It became a ghost town. Views of Batsto Mansion, village buildings, iron ore boat, and Batsto River.
Batsto Village: A Journey Into The Past
Come take a step into the past and discover the historic village of Batsto. Located in the heart of the Pinelands, Batsto was founded in 1766 and had a pivotal role in manufacturing supplies for the American Revolutionary War.
Today, the village is vacant and is open to the public to explore. Batsto remains a landmark and a part of the history of New Jersey.

Batsto Village is a historic unincorporated community located on CR 542 within Washington Township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. It is located in Wharton State Forest in the south central Pine Barrens, and a part of the Pinelands National Reserve. It is listed on the New Jersey and National Register of Historic Places, and is administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Parks & Forestry. The name is derived from the Swedish bastu, bathing place.

My Adventure To Batsto Village
We took a trip to Batsto Village in the Wharton State Forest of New Jersey. It's a wonderful place to visit with so many things to see and learn about. So I figured I'd share my adventure with you so you can enjoy it as much as I did!

Batsto - Pleasant Mills Cemetery, Hammonton, NJ
The Pleasant Mills Cemetery is a rather old cemetery which dates back to the mid 1700's. The cemetery is located deep within deserted Batsto Village (since restored), now part of Wharton State Forest.
This is a very large cemetery located to the right of this country church. The area is remote and nothing is around for miles. The cemetery is reputed to be haunted and and the South Jersey Ghost Research actually did a case study here and came away with interesting and spooky data. The large cemetery has 572 interments located here as well including a veterans memorial. Besides the parishioners, the cemetery was also used by the local village people to inter their dead.
Resting in the cemetery is Simon Lucas, one of the church's most colorful trustees, and William and Jesse Richards of the Batsto Iron Family. Also among those buried there are Captain Jack Van Dyke, Revolutionary War privateer, and Master of the brigantine Gypsy Lane. The graves here are mainly from the early to mid 1800's and including many family plots. Although there was heavy ground growth covering the cemetery especially pine needles and fallen leaves, many of the graves were well taken cared for and still quite readable. There was a truncated pyramid burial site as well as a 30-foot high obelisk. This is definitely a unique cemetery and quite unique both in the type of memorials it contains and location.

A Tour Of Batsto Village!!!!!!
This video is about me giving you a tour of Batsto Village. All the old buildings that were used in the revolutionary war and many other things. Ghosts are known to be still lingering on the property. Stayed tuned for the paranormal investigation video!!!!!! Sorry if the video is a little weird I took six different videos because my camera kept stopping so I had to use an app to merge the videos into one but I hope you guys enjoy it!!!!!!

Atsion: A Journey Back in Time
An historic look and tour guide for the town Atsion in Wharton State Forest, in Shamong Twp. NJ. There are tours of the mansion at Atsion during the warmer months that are quite interesting. I produced this with Barbara Solem author of Ghost Towns and other quirky places in the New Jersey pine barrens. Barbara is also a docent for the mansion tours.
Batsto Village
Brought Kiba for a walk at Batsto Village - a historic site which was once populated with hundreds of people living and working in the village. Industrial buildings such as a sawmill and gristmill were built, in addition to a General Store, Blacksmith, and barns for housing wagons, equipment, and animals.
Since Kiba's last video, his rear legs and hips have been weaker. He now wears a new RuffWear harness which has a handle-top and can be used to support his rear legs whenever he needs a little bit of help.
