General Information
Descended from the African Wild Ass, donkeys have been domesticated for over 5,000 years. Traditionally they are used as a working or pack animal in developing countries. They are from arid and semi-arid areas so can survive on sparse vegetation. Donkeys have a loud call or bray, which can be heard over 3kms away.
Lifespan: Over 30 years
Fun Fact
Donkeys are often referred to in folklore and myth around the world. Christians believe the cross-shaped marking on donkeys' backs and shoulders is a symbol of when the animal carried Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
Keeper Notes
Smokey and Dusty our 2 geldings are best friends and dislike being separate from each other. Their favourite game is tug of war with a deflated football. Both were born in 2005.
General Information
Meerkats belong to the mongoose family. They are highly territorial and social animals that live in groups known as a ‘mob’. In the network of burrows only the alpha male and female breed but the mob help protect the offspring. Meerkats are carnivores eating scorpions, insects, spiders, centipedes, small rodents, reptiles, birds, eggs, tubers and roots. One meerkat will act as a sentry while the mob is foraging, ready to issue a specific call when danger arises.
Lifespan: 15 years in captivity
Fun Fact
Meerkats have their own inbuilt sunglasses! The dark patches of skin and fur that surround their eyes help to reduce the glare from the sun. They also help them to see long distances.
Keeper Notes
Our mob of Meerkats consists of 6 members, 5 boys and 1 female! They are inquisitive creatures and love to investigate new things but they are always on the lookout for danger and often mistake helicopters for birds of prey!

Meet the animals at Battersea Children's Zoo - from meerkats and kune kune pigs, to lemurs and wallabies. Oh, and the playground there is absolutely brilliant! All of this makes up for the terrible train station nearby. And you're just a short hop across the Thames if you fancy an adventure in Chelsea!

LONDON WALK | Battersea Park incl. Fountain, Lake and Peace Pagoda | England
A first-person perspective London walk tour of Battersea Park during a sunny Autumn day.
See all the sights as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of London, featuring Battersea Park. The tour starts on Queen’s Circus at the Rosery Gate entrance to the park, then travels through the park, starting at the Rosery Gardens, then alongside the Boating Lake, next taking a stroll through the Sub Tropical Garden, next to the Bandstand and then the fountains, then to the Rose Garden and back to the Bandstand, along Central Avenue and onto Pear Tree Cafe, next we jump to Carriage Dr North and the London Peace Pagoda, before returning to the fountain in action, across the playing fields to the Old English Garden, before taking a walk by the River Thames, concluding towards the Carriage Dr North exit of the park.
Sights seen along the tour include: Rosary Gardens (01:02:31), Lake (06:15:08), Barbara Hepworth's ‘Single Form' Sculpture (03:55:49), Sub Tropical Garden (08:00:10), Bandstand (11:29:07), Rose Garden (18:00:23), 24th East Surrey Division War Memorial (24:26:10), Pear Tree Cafe (27:28:49), London Peace Pagoda (30:59:21), Fountains (33:41:10), Old English Garden (36:19:16).
Footage recorded October 2017.

London Battersea Park, Virtual Walking Tour
Here is Bettersea Park, one of the best parks in London together with Hyde Park and Holland Park in my opinion.
If you’re looking for a way to escape the noisy city, whilst avoiding the crowds of Hyde Park, there are plenty of other parks and green spaces in London well worth a visit. Down in South West London on the south bank of the River Thames lies one of my favorite parks in London, Battersea Park. It was opened by Queen Victoria in 1858.

LONDON VLOG - BATTERSEA PARK AND BATTERSEA CHILDREN'S ZOO WITH A TODDLER
Day three of our London holiday we spent in Battersea, in the Childrens Zoo, in the various play parks and at a cracking local pub with childrens play area.

Day Out At Battersea Park Zoo
Paul's surprise day out at Battersea Park continues! After an energetic hour of racing on banana bikes, we headed over to Battersea Park Zoo for some down-time with the animals. We hung out in Meerkat Kingdom, Otter Sanctuary, Bird Paradise, Lemur Lookout and visited all the usual-yet-cute animals in Farmyard Corner.
We even found some time for a spot of trampolining! The perfect place to take the children, but also the big kids too!
