Exploring Battleship Rock in New Mexico
In this video, I take you on a little hike around Battleship Rock picnic and hiking areas. Now, don't confuse Battleship Rock with Ship Rock. Both are in New Mexico, but they are very different. When my husband said we were going to go to Battleship Rock, I assumed he meant Ship Rock and I was very confused when we were heading in the direction we were. Battleship Rock was formed by volcanic rock and stands about 200 feet tall. It is a beautiful place to hike, fish and picnic.
This area is about 4 miles north of Jemez Springs, New Mexico on Highway 4. There are several picnic benches or you can find a place to sit by one of the two little rivers that meet in the area. Watch out for poison ivy by the river.
Michael did more sitting and I did more hiking this trip as I wanted to share video of the area with you. I hope you enjoy the video. Please subscribe to my channel as I will be bringing you more of my adventures.

Forest fire drains Jemez Springs tourism
The Las Conchas Fire never really got close to Jemez Springs, but it's having a devastating impact on the tourist business there at the normally busy Fourth of July weekend approaches.
