Visit Houston Texas | Virtual Tour 4K
If you are looking to visit Houston, Texas this virtual tour will show you around the downtown and midtown areas. Around downtown Houston is a park called Buffalo Bayou that is a great place to exercise and be active. Most of downtown Houston is a related to the powerful oil industry that dominates much of the Houston economy. From my opinion Houston is a livable city but not much of a tourist city.

Houston (Listeni/ˈhjuːstən/ hyoo-stən) is the most populous city in Texas and the fourth-most populous city in the United States, located in Southeast Texas near the Gulf of Mexico. With a census-estimated 2014 population of 2.239 million within an area of 667 square miles (1,730 km2),it also is the largest city in the Southern United States,[7] as well as the seat of Harris County. It is the principal city of Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land, which is the fifth-most populated metropolitan area in the United States of America.
Houston was founded on August 28, 1836, near the banks of Buffalo Bayou (now known as Allen's Landing) and incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837. The city was named after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas and had commanded and won at the Battle of San Jacinto 25 miles (40 km) east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-20th century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.
Houston's economy has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. It is also leading in health care sectors and building oilfield equipment; only New York City is home to more Fortune 500 headquarters within its city limits. The Port of Houston ranks first in the United States in international waterborne tonnage handled and second in total cargo tonnage handled.Nicknamed the Space City, Houston is a global city, with strengths in business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, sports, technology, education, medicine, and research. The city has a population from various ethnic and religious backgrounds and a large and growing international community. Houston is the most diverse city in Texas and has been described as the most diverse in the United States. It is home to many cultural institutions and exhibits, which attract more than 7 million visitors a year to the Museum District. Houston has an active visual and performing arts scene in the Theater District and offers year-round resident companies in all major performing arts.

Take a bike ride down Houston Buffalo Bayou Park bike trails. Filmed with a GoPRo 7 with Hypersmooth stabilization and TimeWarp timelapse. This is one of my favorite bike trails here in Houston. It provides great views of the Houston skyline along scenic Buffalo Bayou. I filmed the first half in 4k 60fps and sped it up and then the second half with timewarp timelapse.
I use these trails to help train for the MS150 Bike MS charity ride. ITs a ride to help raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and is a 2 day bike ride from Houston to Austin. Houston Bike Tour Part 5: Sesquicentennial Park, Buffalo Bayou & The Big Bubble
In Fall 2014, I took an awesome bike tour around town with Andrew Groocock of the Professional Tour Guide Association of Houston. We checked out some of the best sights of interest along the bike trails between Downtown Houston and the Heights. A few things may have changed, but by and large this is still a great route to take for a leisurely afternoon stroll or even a daily commute from the Heights to Downtown!
In Part 5, Andrew shares some interesting tidbits of information about Buffalo Bayou as we check out Sesquicentennial Park, which was built to commemorate the 150 year anniversary of the founding of both Houston and Texas. We also get to see “The Big Bubble”, an entertaining work of art created by Dean Ruck, in action!

Team Yellowjacket reviews Sesquicentennial Park (Downtown Houston)
We finally made it out to SQ Park - one of the more often mentioned parks when it comes to downtown Houston. Overall, there are plenty of pokestops in the area, and the Buffalo Bayou Walk is a good place to gain travel distance for the egg.
Spawn rate? That's something interesting - when we went there as just the two of us, there was the normal spawn rate. However, when we attended the FB-Community gathering.... the spawn rate went through the roof!
Team Yellowjacket Egg Rating:
Overall Park = 2k egg
Pokestop/Gym = 10k egg
Spawn rate = 5k egg

Houston is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas, fourth most populous city in the United States, as well as the sixth most populous in North America, with an estimated 2018 population of 2,325,502.[2] Located in Southeast Texas near Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, it is the seat of Harris County and the principal city of the Greater Houston metropolitan area, which is the fifth most populous metropolitan statistical area in the United States and the second most populous in Texas after the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, with a population of 6,997,384 in 2018.[5]
Comprising a total area of 637.4 square miles (1,651 km2),[6] Houston is the eighth most expansive city in the United States (including consolidated city-counties). It is the largest city in the United States by total area, whose government is not consolidated with that of a county, parish or borough. Though primarily in Harris County, small portions of the city extend into Fort Bend and Montgomery counties, bordering other principal communities of Greater Houston such as Sugar Land and The Woodlands.
The city of Houston was founded by land investors on August 30, 1836,[7] at the confluence of Buffalo Bayou and White Oak Bayou (a point now known as Allen's Landing)[8] and incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837.[9] The city is named after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas and had won Texas' independence from Mexico at the Battle of San Jacinto 25 miles (40 km) east of Allen's Landing.[9] After briefly serving as the capital of the Texas Republic in the late 1830s, Houston grew steadily into a regional trading center for the remainder of the 19th century.[10]
The arrival of the 20th century saw a convergence of economic factors which fueled rapid growth in Houston, including a burgeoning port and railroad industry, the decline of Galveston as Texas' primary port following a devastating 1900 hurricane, the subsequent construction of the Houston Ship Channel, and the Texas oil boom.[10] In the mid-20th century, Houston's economy diversified as it became home to the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.
Houston's economy since the late 19th century has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. Leading in healthcare sectors and building oilfield equipment, Houston has the second most Fortune 500 headquarters of any U.S. municipality within its city limits (after New York City).[11][12] The Port of Houston ranks first in the United States in international waterborne tonnage handled and second in total cargo tonnage handled.[13] Nicknamed the Bayou City Space City”, H-Town, and “the 713”, Houston has become a global city, with strengths in culture, medicine, and research. The city has a population from various ethnic and religious backgrounds and a large and growing international community. Houston is the most diverse metropolitan area in Texas and has been described as the most racially and ethnically diverse major metropolis in the U.S.[14] It is home to many cultural institutions and exhibits, which attract more than 7 million visitors a year to the Museum District. Houston has an active visual and performing arts scene in the Theater District and offers year-round resident companies in all major performing arts.

BikeHouston is making Houston a bike friendly city
On Thursday, October 11, Great Day Houston host Deborah Duncan spoke with Jessica Wiggins and Inge Ford from the nonprofit, BikeHouston.
BikeHouston is on a mission to transform Houston by creating safe bikeways in order to improve the quality of life of all Houstonians. Through partnerships with the City and other organizations, BikeHouston works to expand the mileage and access to high quality bike lanes and trails, to educate all road users, and to enhance enforcement of the laws that save lives.
The organization advocates to ensure that bicyclists’ needs are included in government work from planning to construction to law enforcement.
Their community education programs teach motorists about cyclists’ rights and cyclists about their rights and responsibilities. BikeHosuton also hosts events designed to empower everyone to start riding a bike.
Their next event, The Moonlight Ramble is a historic midnight ride in Houston with contests for best costumes and best lit bike! This year’s Ramble in on October 27th and starts at Saint Arnold Brewing Company. There will be a 10-mile and 20-mile option. Pedego West Houston | Electric Bike Store | Fulshear, Texas
Visit: Our story is not unique for anyone who has ridden a Pedego. We rented Pedego electric bikes while on vacation in Scottsdale Arizona. We had a blast that day, stopping at a local brunch location, exploring the city and taking in the sites. The day flew by and we came back with some major smiles on our faces. After returning home we went to the Pedego site to purchase bikes when we realized there was not a dealer local to us. That got us thinking about how exciting it would be to bring our own location into West Houston. Knowing that this area is growing we knew that we could share the fun with so many awesome people! After learning about the brand and meeting the team it didn’t take us any time to decide that this is what we were going to do. When you visit Pedego West Houston expect to have some fun. You may even meet some of our kiddos because this is a family business. We are passionate about electric bikes, and we put our full hearts into everything we do. We treat our customers like dear friends because that is exactly what you are to us. Please visit us and take a free test ride on a Pedego Electric Bike today. Hello, fun…..

Houston Memorial Park
Memorial Park/Crestwood
Memorial Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. The park covers about 1,466 acres inside the 610 Loop. It was originally designed by landscape architects Hare & Hare of Kansas City, Missouri.
From 1917 to 1923, the land that is now Memorial Park was the site of Camp Logan, a WWI training camp for the U.S. Army. After the war, in early 1924, Will and Mike Hogg purchased 1,503 acres of former Camp Logan land and sold the area to the city at cost. In May 1924, the City of Houston took ownership of the land to be used as a memorial park dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who lost their lives in WWI.

A few things may have changed, but by and large this is still a great route to take for a leisurely afternoon stroll or even a daily commute from the Heights to Downtown!
In Part 3, we start at the corner of Texas and Smith streets and take a look at a stretch of Downtown Houston sometimes referred to as Skid Row due to five of the buildings in the area being built by the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. We then head over to a spot in front of the Chase Tower which is the tallest building all of Texas, where Andrew tells us all about the impressive skyscraper.
