Barcelona Chocolates - Spain Travel Guide
Barcelona takes chocolate very seriously. In the city there are lots of chocolate shops and cafes, like this one. First off, we go where you can have designer chocolate in very creative packing. There are even some great chocolate artisan. Here we have Pope Ratzinger.
If you are really obsessed with chocolates, there is the chocolate museum. Let's take a look inside. This is the cacao tree which is very big. It does not grow here in Spain, it has to be in places where it is very hot. Each piece is covered with pure chocolate and made by local artisans. Like this one for instance, Julio Carretero, which is a very good one. I am Montse Triola showing you Barcelona.

Museu De La Xocolata (Museum of Chocolate) - Barcelona (Spain) (HD)
[Photoshooting of my summer vacation 2010]
Museu de la Xocolata (Catalan for Museum of Chocolate) is a museum in Barcelona, Spain, owned by the Gremi de Pastisseria de Barcelona (the city pastry-makers' guild).
The museum opened in 2000, at Carrer Comerç 36, in El Born, Ciutat Vella, on the ground level of an old barracks.
Many of the displays are chocolate sculptures, including various well-known Barcelona buildings, and illustrations from various stories.
The chocolate museum Museu de la Xocolata shows the history of chocolate in Europe: its origins, how it got to us and how it was traded as an element between myth and reality, between medicine and food or as an aphrodisiac. It also shows the manufacturing of chocolate, from the cocoa bean up to industrial production processes.
The chocolate museum is one of the smaller museums in Barcelona. But none of the other museums will tickle your senses as much as this one. The smell of chocolate is all over the place, teasing your appetite, so the piece of chocolate that you receive at the entrance may not last for long. If you bring your kids with you on your trip to Barcelona, this museum will probably become their favourite.

Cacao Sampaka (Barcelona, Spain)
Once thought to be only a myth, the unique and real-origin La Joya criollo beans from Tabasco, Mexico have never been expressed so clearly as by Cacao Sampaka. This bar is a must-have for all chocolate enthusiasts.
Cacao Sampaka’s inclusion bars are the brainchild of Albert Adrià of elBulli. One bite of the Gin and Tonic bar will exhibit the crunch of ice, the bitterness of quinine, the floral bouquet of citrus, and even a hint of effervescence, all in a milk chocolate bar. It’s pure genius! For classics such as sea salt dark chocolate, or chocolate with hot peppers, Cacao Sampaka bars are definitely our best sellers.
