Kuala Lumpur City, Malaysia.
The capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is the melting pot of various Malaysian cultures, tradition and history. Starting off as a tin mining outpost in the mid 1800s, Kuala Lumpur quickly grew into Malaysia's busiest city by the time the 20th century ended.
Translated literally, Kuala Lumpur means Muddy Confluence, and, as a city that experienced rapid growth throughout the 1900s, houses a fascinating mix of the best of modern lifestyle and traditional culture. It is not uncommon to find sleek skyscrapers standing tall right opposite charming colonial shophouses, or suited business executives returning to their office just beside a busy makeshift wet market.
Kuala Lumpur also offers an amazing sample of Malaysian food, with cuisine from almost every state represented in the capital city. Kuala Lumpur is also known for a rapid increase of upscale restaurants and café, offering almost every dining experience imaginable.
Among not-to-be-missed places to visit in Kuala Lumpur include the KL Bird Park (a 20-acre park housing over 3,000 birds), the Petronas Twin Towers (the tallest building in the world until recently), Petaling Street (the centre of KL street-culture), DataranMerdeka (Independence Square, a significant historical site)and many more!

Kuala Lumpur has a tale as old as time - this heritage walk will uncover the legends, secrets and transformation of a tin miner's village into the capital of Malaysia:

Kuala Lumpur City Gallery (KLCG) is strategically located right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s heritage enclave – Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square), fronting the 100-metre flagpole where the Union Jack was lowered, and the Malayan flag raised for the very first time. This enclave, protected under the Conservation & Heritage Protection Board, is a must-visit heritage destination. It houses many historical buildings, structures and icons that date back to more than a century.
In the evening the Merdaka Square is beautifully lit up and make it a point to visit this iconic place when you visit Kuala Lumpur.
We loved KLCG for: The iconic I Love KL sculpture, KL Reflection which provides 9 selfie points and the light and sound show. You can easily spend half a day visiting this gallery!

Kuala Lumpur to George Town, Penang | Malaysia Travel VLOG
Hi guys,
in this episode, we took the bus from Kuala Lumpur to George Town, Penang. All I can say is what a nice change of scenery from bustling city chaos to a quaint and charming place. George Town was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, and it's such a gem to explore and get to know. This was just our first night here, and we got to check out one of the oldest bars (established in the 20s) in George Town, try some yummy noodles, and accidentally ran into the Penang International Food Festival! Hope you enjoyed this Malaysia travel vlog, stay tuned for upcoming episodes where we go on street art scavenger hunts and explore the quirky museums of Penang! -Dia

Malaysia 1: Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves, Melaka , Cameron Highlands, Penang,Tioman, Perhentian
Malaysia is a very colorful country with many faces. Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims live peacefully together. The country created beautiful architecture and monuments. Kuala Lumpur is one of my favorite Asian cities. There is so much variety in this country, even in one city like KL. Add to this an amazing rich nature and green islands with beautiful golden sandy beaches in an azure-blue sea and you have a perfect mix, which every tourist can really enjoy.
Kuala Lumpur, An overwhelming city, where the blend of old buildings with modern architecture has been successful. Far from being a westernized Asian city, it has a lot of charm and character. The 451m high Petronas towers are Kuala Lumpur's giant landmark, a breath-taking view from beneath!
Just 15km north of Kuala Lumpur are the huge Batu caves.
The caves are in a towering limestone formation, in which a Hindu shrine has been built.
Just on the day I came there, there was a big celebration because he tallest Murugan statue in the world was inaugurated.
Melaka is a important historic town with its multicultural heritage.
It's a fascinating mix of Dutch, Portuguese, Islamic and Chinese building styles.
Some say you can find here the soul of the nation.
The Cameron Highlands, with its nice and cool temperatures, really is a place to relax, a relief after the buzzing big city. It is famous for its tea plantations.
Georgetown is an example of a marvelous blend of historic buildings,
mosques, Hindu and Chinese-Buddhist temples and Penang add beaches and nature to it.
Pulau Tioman and Pulau Perhentian. These two islands are largely unspoiled.
They are some of the most beautiful islands I have visited in SE Asia.
They have everything you can dream of: beautiful beaches with shadows from the palm trees with aquamarine crystal clear water to snorkel and a lot of beautiful nature.

How Diverse is MALAYSIA?!
HELLO MALAYSIA!
I am beyond excited to be back here for a third visit! Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is a LOT different than I remembered it back in 2014 (when I was here as budget backpacker...) It's bizarre to see how much a city can evolve in just 4 years.
Anyways, the thing I love most about this fascinating country of Malaysia (along with the food) is the extreme DIVERSITY of its citizens. Just walk down any street in K.L., and you'll see all different faces in every different color, with each person uniquely identifying themselves as Malaysian. I say uniquely because no two people in this country have the same blood - it's all mixed (mostly with some combination of ethnic Malay, Chinese, and/or Indian!)
This video will explain a little bit more about Malaysia’s spectacular diversity.
Stay tuned over the next 3 days as I rediscover Kuala Lumpur's lifestyle, sites, cuisine and people -- I can't wait to show you what's next! And THANK YOU to everyone who came to my meet up. That was amazing.
Have you ever been to Malaysia?
