Panama Fruit Feeder Cam at Canopy Lodge | Cornell Lab
Watch LIVE 24/7 with highlights and viewing resources at
The Panama Fruit Feeder Cam is a collaboration between the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the Canopy Family, and explore.org.
*******************************
About the Site
The Panama Fruit Feeder Cam is located on the grounds of the Canopy Lodge in El Valle de Antón, Panama. This site is just over 2,000 ft above sea level in the low mountains of Cerro Gaital, with a mild springtime climate year-round. A small stream called Rio Guayabo runs past the feeders in the background, and the lush landscaping of the Canopy Lodge grounds grade into the forested slopes around them. The feeding table is around 40 feet from the main lodge, and is one of several feeders provisioned throughout the day so that guests to the lodge are greeted to spectacular views of many of the common birds found in this ecosystem.
About the Canopy Lodge
The Canopy Lodge is a full service lodge specializing in nature tourism with a focus on birds. It is about 60 miles west of Panama City in the picturesque village of El Valle de Antón, right in the center of the gigantic crater of an extinct volcano. This is the largest inhabited crater in the Western Hemisphere and second only to the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. It is surrounded by the Cerro Gaital Natural Monument.
Canopy Lodge is one of a series of three ecotourism ventures developed by the Canopy Family. The first, Canopy Tower, involved transforming a former U.S. radar station overlooking the Panama Canal in Soberanía National Park into a unique birding lodge embedded in the canopy of the surrounding forest. Their newest property, Canopy Camp, offers a taste of some of the wildest lowland rainforest in Panama in the Darién region.

A daredevil performed a heart stopping leap off the top of a 105-foot-high bridge.
Brave Dylan Balog clambered on top of the iron girders - the same height as the Tower of London - in Masontown, West Virginia, USA on August 16.
The experienced bridge jumper psyches himself up before throwing one of the stones into the river below.
Having launched his other three rocks to break the surface tension and give himself a landing spot to aim for, Dylan steps out and begins to plummet.
Video shows shocking moment unattended baby almost drowns
An infant nearly drowned when left unattended in a children's swimming pool in Zhaoyuan city, east China’s Shandong Province on Tuesday. Video of the baby struggling, with head submerged for about 72 seconds, has gone viral online.
Surveillance camera footage shows the infant, wearing an inflatable ring, playing in the pool unattended. She then accidentally flipped over, plunging her head beneath the water.
The infant struggled for about 72 seconds until she was spotted by her parents outside the room. Fortunately the girl, less than one year old, was rushed to the local hospital and her life was saved.
The swimming pool was ordered to suspend operations, and an investigation is underway. Netizens criticized swimming pool staff and the little girl's parents.

Dog Thrilled To See Owners At Shelter But They're There To Adopt Different Dog
Zuzu, a two-year-old German Shepard mix, will be taken into the care of an animal rescue group Friday after a video of her went viral. In the video, Zuzu wags her tail and got excited to see her owners, but they wanted a new pup. The family that adopted her complained Zuzu had become depressed after another pet in the family died. She was passed up by her own owners at an animal shelter but is getting a happy ending.
