Charles Marsala, U.S. Senate Candidate, Covers Accomplishments of P.G.T. Beauregard
P.G.T. Beauregard was a Civil Engineer who graduated from West Point, fought in the Mexican American War and led the Louisiana National Guard.
P.G.T. restored the New Orleans Street Car Line, Railroads and Custom House. He fought for school unification in 1873 and wrote the phrase, Equal Rights; One Flag, One Country, One People that is very similar to the phrase included in the pledge of allegiance written in 1887. The PGT Beauregard Equestrian Statue in New Orleans was completed by Alexander Doyle in 1915.
