Studying CHINESE (vlog) in BEIJING
I've been studying Chinese at the Communication University since March '15. Before this I attended private classes. Most of the Chinese I speak, I learnt while working with Chinese people.
I have 4 different classes: Chinese grammar, listening, speaking & reading.
I was reading the book Riding the Iron Rooster, by Train Through China.

You Can Climb A 'Book Mountain' In This Gigantic Library In China
This library is a book lover's dream come true.
The Tianjin Binhai Library, Tianjin, China.
33,700 square meters. Five levels. Enough shelf space for 1.2 million books.
It was completed by Dutch architecture firm MVRDV and local architects from the Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute.
It's nicknamed The Eye.
The angles and curves are meant to stimulate different uses of the space, such as reading, walking, meeting and discussing. Together they form the 'eye' of the building: to see and be seen. - Winy Maas, Co-founder of MVRDV
There's a giant globe in the center of the library. It has an auditorium hidden inside.
The climbable shelving acts as a book mountain.
But there's a catch...
Not all of the books are real.
You can find a lot of books in other reading spaces beyond the main atrium space. There are sections geared for children and education.
The library has become a tourist hot spot since opening in 2017. It begs for the perfect Instagram photo.

Is Tianjin worth visiting? Our weekend trip from Beijing
I have been in Beijing for a long time now and never had the will to visit Tianjin (a 30 minute train ride away).... But, I heard good things about it and finally got tickets! More about Tianjin from Wiki:
Tianjin is a municipality and a coastal metropolis in Northern China on the shore of Bohai Sea, it is one of the nine national central cities in Mainland China, with a total population over 15.6 million. This makes it one of the largest cities in the world.
The walled city of Tianjin was built in 1404. As a treaty port since 1860, Tianjin has been a major seaport and gateway to Beijing. During the Boxer Rebellion the city was the seat of the Tianjin Provisional Government. Under the Qing dynasty and the Republic of China, Tianjin became one of the largest cities in the region. At that time, numerous European-style buildings and mansions were constructed in concessions, many of which are well-preserved today. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Tianjin suffered a depression due to the policy of the central government and Tangshan earthquake, but recovered from 1990s. Nowadays Tianjin is a dual-core city, with its main urban area (including the old city) located along the Hai River, which connects to the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers via the Grand Canal; and Binhai, a New Area urban core located east of the old city, on the coast of the Bohai Gulf. As of the end of 2010, around 285 Fortune 500 companies have set up base in Binhai. Since 2010, Tianjin's Yujiapu Financial District has become known as China's Manhattan.

China is Over : The US Allies deadly strategy to Countering Beijing's in the South China Sea
Japan and the U.S. must take determined actions to counter China’s challenges in the south china sea, but there is much that needs to be done by other players as well. The measures described above may be modest, but they would have implications for the PLA, forcing exertions and costs exceeding China’s operational resources. This could be a strategy for smaller nations to deter a major power.
