The metro system of the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province of China. It is operated by the state-owned Guangzhou Metro Corporation and was the fourth metro system to be built in mainland China, after those of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.
The earliest efforts to build an underground rapid transit system in Guangzhou date back to 1960. In the two decades that followed, the project was brought into the agenda five times, but ended up abandoned each time due to financial and technical difficulties.[11][12] Preparation of what would lead to today's Guangzhou Metro did not start until the 1980s, and it was not until 1993 that construction of the first line, Line 1, officially began.[12][13] Line 1 opened four years later in 1997 with five stations in operation.[14]
As of December 2017 Guangzhou Metro has 13 lines in operation, namely Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4, Line 5, Line 6, Line 7, Line 8, Line 9, Line 13, Line 14, Guangfo Line, and Zhujiang New Town APM reaching both the urban core and surrounding suburbs. Guangfo Line connects Guangzhou and Foshan and is the first metro line between two cities in the country.[15] Daily service hours start at 6:00 am and end at midnight, and daily ridership averages over 7 million.[16][1][17] Having delivered 2.568 billion rides in 2016 (Guangzhou Metro) is the fourth busiest metro system in the world, after the metro systems of Beijing, Shanghai and Seoul. Guangzhou Metro operates 231 stations,[note 1] including 28 interchange stations, and 390.7 km of lines.
Extensive development of the metro network has been planned for the decade of 2011–2020. With construction started Line 11, Line 18, Line 21 and extensions of Line 8 and Guangfo Line and an extension of Line 7 into Shunde, Foshan. Total operational capacity is scheduled to exceed 600 km by 2020.[18] The Guangzhou Metro is actively constructing connections to neighboring cities. Foshan is already connected via the Guangfo Metro with connections via Line 7 and Foshan Metro Line 2 under construction. Dongguan city is proposing connections with Guangzhou Metro Line 13 and the Dongguan Metro.[19] Neighboring Huizhou city proposed in 2016 that Guangzhou Metro Line 16 be extended into Longmen County, achieving the integration of Huizhou and Guangzhou. In January 2018, Huizhou's mayor Mai Jiaomeng revealed that Huizhou was studying two connections with the Guangzhou Metro with Line 16 heading to Yonghan Town, Longmen County and Line 21 extended to Mount Luofu in Boluo County.[20][21]

China travel vlog guangzhou baiyun international airport (airport)
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (IATA: CAN, ICAO: ZGGG) is the major airport of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, China. Both airport codes were inherited from the former Baiyun Airport, and the IATA code is derived from Guangzhou's historical romanization Canton. Baiyun Airport serves as a hub for China Southern Airlines, FedEx Express, 9 Air, Hainan Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines.
In 2017, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was China's third-busiest and world's 13th-busiest airport by passenger traffic, with 65,806,977 passengers handled. As for cargo traffic, the airport was China's third-busiest and the 19th-busiest worldwide. Baiyun airport was also the third-busiest airport in China in terms of aircraft movements.
The old Baiyun Airport opened in 1932. Due to the expansion of Guangzhou, the airport could not expand to meet passengers needs as buildings surrounded the airport. On August 5, 2004, the new Baiyun airport opened and the old airport was closed.
The new airport is located in Guangzhou's Baiyun District and Huadu District and opened on August 5, 2004 as a replacement for the 72-year-old, identically named former airport, which is now closed. Built at a cost of 19.8 billion yuan, the new airport is 28 kilometres (17 mi) north of downtown Guangzhou and nearly five times larger than its predecessor. Baiyun (白云) means white cloud in Chinese and refers to the Baiyun Mountain (Baiyunshan), near the former airport even though the mountain is much closer to downtown Guangzhou than it is to the new airport. It is also referred to as New Baiyun to distinguish it from the previous airport, but this is not a part of the official name.
Once commissioned, the New Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport overcame most of the problems associated with the old and dilapidated airport including limited space, overcrowding and a lack of room for expansion.[citation needed] Former curfews and restrictions did not apply to the new airport so it could operate 24 hours a day, allowing China Southern Airlines to maximise intercontinental route utilisation with overnight flights. Other airlines also benefit from the removal of previous restrictions.

Chinese Yutong buses 'improving the lives of Cubans'
Every day, millions of Cubans wake up, eat breakfast, and then hop on the bus to get to work or school. And many of those buses were actually made in China by the company Yutong. The first 12 Yutong buses arrived on the island in 2005, and since then, the Chinese company has achieved a significant presence in Cuba, which is the firm's most important overseas market.#BeltandRoad #OBOR

Visiting China? I wrote up some things you should know before going --
Chinese wholesale market/mall w 23 Floors. Yes. It's real. It felt like walking thru Alibaba .com lol... I think a lot of the sellers in here are just wholesalers who take orders from sites like Aliexpress.com, alibaba.com, globalsources.com and other wholesale sites around the world.. bc they are always packing up boxes ...... well everywhere around the outskirts of the city of Guangzhou all you see are people moving boxes around haha..... was this better than just scouting for new product ideas on Alibaba.com? Not sure.. sometimes you can get lucky and find that amazingly cool thing.. but that can happen online too.... nonetheless it was a good experience to try out and see what the wholesale scene it all about.
...then we get a bite of some Chinese food, and end it with a preview of the next video, nightlife at O2 club at Party Pier.. click to watch next!

A day in the Canton fair how to attend china import&export FAIR 2013 canton fair in guangzhou china
A day in the Canton fair China Trade Shows how to attend the china import&export FAIR canton fair in guangzhou china
As the april canton fair approaching,we made this video for the sake of the new commer for the fair wishing the information may offer a helpful guide for the friends from all over the world.
Canton Fair ,ie china import and export fair,is the biggest trade show in China and one of the biggest in the world. The fair draws crowds from all around the world eager to pick up the latest and cheapest new product from China's industrious manufacturers. There is no single Canton Fair. Instead, there is a Spring and Autumn session, with each session directed at different industries and lasting around two weeks. International visitors to the fair have swelled in significant number over the past decade and organizing a visit takes careful preparation. Start your journey below.
Invitation to the Canton Fair
Your first step to a visit is to apply for an invitation from the Canton Fair organizers. Fairs are closed to the public and only open to industry and you will need to register to gain entry. You can register your attendance with the Canton Fair in advance and your badge for entry will then be available for collection on site. This registration should be free and avoid companies who claim to facilitate registration via $50 fees. Alternatively, for the majority of fairs, badges are available on site. You'll simply need to register with your passport and company details -- a business card can be useful. There is usually a small fee for registration on site.
Accommodation in Guangzhou
With up to 500,000 eager wheelers and dealers descending on each session finding accommodation can be a challenge -- at any price. Local hotels regularly yank up their prices to legendary levels for the period of the fair. Unfortunately, there is little you can do about the price, booking early may take some of the bite out of the price but is practically essential if you can actually want to secure a room. Bar the most luxurious rooms, everything is booked up months in advance so remember to book ahead. The Convention Centre is not downtown Guangzhou although many of the better hotels, particularly chain hotels and three and four stars, will run frequent shuttle buses to and from the fair complex.
Chinese Visa
Once you're received your invitation you can then apply for a visa at your local Chinese Embassy. Alternatively, you can also apply through the China Travel Service office in Hong Kong. Most visas are single entry which means you can only enter China once, usually for 30 days. If you're planning to be in town for a while and want to pay a visit to nearby Hong Kong, you might want to consider applying for a double entry visa. This will let you cross the Chinese border twice.
How to Get to Guangzhou
Although Guangzhou has an airport, the number of international flights is limited and most people visiting the Canton Fair arrive into Hong Kong instead. It's simple to reach Guangzhou from Hong Kong with regular trains between the two cities taking just over two hours. There are also a limited number of flight connections between Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
How to Get to the Canton Fair
With just a handful of exceptions, the Canton Fair has been wholly moved to the Canton Fair Complex on Pazhou Island. It's located just on the outskirts of the city center and can be reached by Metro Line 2 (blue), although most of the better hotels will run complimentary shuttle buses.
What to See in Guangzhou
The fair is likely to eat up much of your time but with 10 million residents and much of the country's money, Guangzhou is one of China's most modern and exciting metropolises and is well worth exploring. The city is held in high regard for its culinary skills and trying some Cantonese cuisine should be top of your must do list. The Dim Sum here and in Hong Kong is unrivaled. If you want to wash your food down with a little sightseeing, the colonial architecture of Shamian Island is a particular highlight and there are also several temples and markets well worth seeing.

Both the old & new XiZi-Otis Traction Elevators in Beijing, China
Filmed on July 29, 2015 (Asian time): The first elevator was completely vandalized & worn out! I definitely like the second one better than the first one. It's a bit faster and more clean. This whole building has also been seen better days as well too. Lastly, the name has been blanked out 'cause this is a very private apartment building.

Tokyo Tower shines red for Chinese New Year for the first time
The iconic Tokyo Tower was lit up in Chinese red to celebrate the Spring Festival on Monday evening. It's the first time the Tokyo Tower was lit up to mark a major Chinese festival. More than 500 children from both China and Japan set off over 1,000 balloons at the ceremony. Traditional activities, such as a lantern show and a lion dance performance, brought a festive atmosphere to the Japanese capital. #TokyoTower #ChineseNewYear
