Beijing Working People's Cultural Palace
Right beside the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. While the Forbidden City itself was super crowded, this palace around the corner was empty. I felt like I had this place to myself, and I had accidentally discovered it. Loved being there alone. Hot as heck though.

Beijing China - Forbidden City in Beijing Imperial Palace of China from Ming to Qing Dinasty
The forbidden city in Beijing (Imperial palace of China from 1406 house of the Ming dinasty and the Qing Dinasty of China) walking to the Tianamen square, very nice traditional area of the modern Beijing city. I'm very impressed about how much the Chinese people respect their monuments, symbols and traditional places.
The Forbidden City (Beijing 1406) was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost five hundred years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government
Beijing in China, a beautiful city of China with more than 20 millions inhabitants, very clean and great organization, everything, signs and indication s in English and Chinese. City is A beautiful, easy and modern city, many young guys with an incredible future potential. I'm understand why they did the 2008 Olympic games.
Beijing offers GREAT FOOD, fresh fruit all the time, excelent small TOMATOES, an incredible DUCK dishes, many plates, very simple and many options for world people.
The Great Wall of China very close (an hour driving) the forbidden city very close in Beijing, the Tianamen square, Mao, teather, Chinese opera,... the easy shopping way, from silk market to luxury Chinese products..
SO, Beijing a city to visit, friendly and beautiful for more info
Beijing means northern capital, in line with the common East Asian tradition whereby capital cities are explicitly named as such. The city has been renamed several times. During the Jin Dynasty, the city was known as Zhongdu (中都) , and then later under the Mongol Yuan Dynasty as Dadu (大都) in Chinese and Daidu to Mongols (also recorded as Cambuluc by Marco Polo). Twice in the city's history, the name was changed from Beijing (Peking) to Beiping (Peiping) (北平 Pinyin: Beiping; Wade-Giles: Pei-p'ing), literally Northern Peace. This occurred first under the Hongwu Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and again in 1928 with the Kuomintang (KMT) government of the Republic of China.
Beijing is divided into 16 urban and suburban districts and two rural counties. Beijing is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. It is also the destination of many international flights arriving in China. Beijing is recognized as the political, educational, and cultural center of the People's Republic of China, while Shanghai and Hong Kong predominate in economic fields. The city hosted the 2008 Olympic Games

CHINA: BEIJING: FORBIDDEN CITY HOSTS SERIES OF MUSIC CONCERTS
Mandarin/Eng/Nat
China's ancient Forbidden City, in the centre of the capital Beijing, plays host this week to a series of concerts bridging east and west.
The Ming-Dynasty-era buildings were once off-limits to all but the Emperor and his court -- but for the first time an international music festival is underway within its walls.
Located within the high red walls of Beijing's Forbidden City, The Imperial Ancestry Temple was begun during the Ming Dynasty over 5-hundred years ago.
China's most sacred imperial palace was a world unto itself when these rooms were built.
Now normally open only to daytime tourists who wander the empty halls and courtyards, the palace has come back to life this week with the opening Monday of the Forbidden City Music Festival.
Both Chinese and foreign musicians are playing a repertoire that reaches across western and eastern traditions.
Festival organisers said they wanted visitors to experience a living palace, not a mere monument.
SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin)
Beijing is an ancient city with a lot of ancient palaces and ancient architecture and I think it's very significant to have such a classical music festival in such an ancient place.
SUPERCAPTION: Zhang Yu, Chinese organiser
The Imperial Ancestry Temple was renamed the Working People's Cultural Palace under communist rule, but still retains its ancient magic.
It was here that Chinese emperors offered sacrifices to their ancestors.
Outside the hall a jade stream-bed winds beneath seven white marble bridges.
The sights here are impressive enough at any time.
SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin)
It touched me deeply. Listening to European classical music in such a Chinese ancient palace I can feel an exchange, a fusion between western and eastern culture. This makes me think a lot.
SUPER CAPTION: Zhang Song Yan, spectator
The programme -- including chamber music, recitals, and both Western and Chinese classical music -- seemed to suit the foreign guests just as well.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
It's the idea, the idea is perfect. Here you can enjoy about the music but also same time you can enjoy the surroundings. The surroundings I think they are more exciting than the music.
SUPERCAPTION: Jorma Kalliomaki, audience
The Festival finishes on Saturday with a concert which incorporates both Chinese and Western music traditions -- aptly named Music Connects People.

Crazy Massive Crowds Visiting Forbidden City in Beijing China
We were so excited to go see the Forbidden City in Beijing but didn't expect to find thousands, if not millions, of people. Like the say in China, People Mountain, People Sea. We didn't get to see much, but I got a cool necklace with my Chinese zodiac sign. We couldn't go into the main area of the Forbidden city but saw the outside and walked several miles through the crowds.

Forbiden City in Beijing, China
Welcome people from all over the world to visit the Forbidden City in Beijing.
The Palace Museum in Beijing is the royal palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in China. It was formerly known as the Forbidden City. It is located in the center of Beijing's central axis and is the essence of ancient Chinese palace architecture. The Forbidden City in Beijing is centered on the three main halls. It covers an area of 720,000 square meters and has a construction area of about 150,000 square meters. There are more than 70 large and small palaces and more than 9,000 houses. It is one of the largest and most preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
The Forbidden City in Beijing began construction in the Ming Dynasty (1406), and was built on the foundation of the Nanjing Forbidden City. It was completed in the 18th year of Yongle (1420). It is a rectangular city, 961 meters long from north to south, 753 meters wide from east to west, with a wall of 10 meters high on all sides and a moat with a width of 52 meters outside the city. The buildings in the Forbidden City are divided into two parts: the outer dynasty and the inner court. The center of the outer dynasty is the Taihe Temple, the Zhonghe Temple, and the Baohe Temple. They are collectively called the Three Great Halls and are the place where the state holds a grand ceremony.
The Forbidden City in Beijing is known as the world's top five palaces (Beijing Forbidden City, Versailles, France, Buckingham Palace, White House, Russia, Kremlin). It is a national AAAAA tourist attraction, listed as the first batch of nationals in 1961. The key cultural relics protection unit, [4] was listed as a World Cultural Heritage in 1987.

2016 China Trip Day 13 in Forbidden City of Beijing, China
Tiananmen Square is a large city square in the centre of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen (Gate of Heavenly Peace) located to its north, separating it from the Forbidden City. The square contains the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. Mao Zedong proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic of China in the square on October 1, 1949; the anniversary of this event is still observed there. Tiananmen Square is within the top ten largest city squares in the world. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several important events in Chinese history.
The Tiananmen (Chinese: 天安门; literally: Gate of Heavenly Peace) is a famous monument in Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China. It is widely used as a national symbol. First built during the Ming dynasty in 1420, Tiananmen is often referred to as the front entrance to the Forbidden City. However, the Meridian Gate (午门) is the first entrance to the Forbidden City proper, while Tiananmen was the entrance to the Imperial City, within which the Forbidden City was located. Tiananmen is located to the north of Tiananmen Square, separated from the plaza by Chang'an Avenue.
The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty—the years 1420 to 1912. It is located in the centre of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. It served as the home of emperors and their households as well as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government for almost 500 years.

BEIJING, CHINA | Forbidden Palace, Great Wall, Peking Duck & MORE!
Hey guys!!
UHHHHH!!!!!!!!
I'm soooo sorry to leave you hanging for SO long! -_- I made a vow that I need to finish my India trip vlog before uploading any other vlogs, but honestly the amount of footage I have from India is pretty ridiculous...So I decided to skip ahead to my trip to China (this was right after going to India). Americans are awarded a 72 hour visa when in Beijing, so I took advantage of that, along with 2 other travelers from my India tour group and we ventured around some of the most notable sights in Beijing including: Tienanmen Square, The Forbidden Palace, and The Great Wall of China! We finished our evening with a fancy Peking duck dinner! All in all, China was great...don't think I'll go back. I feel like this adventure was MORE than enough!
Tell me what you think!

Lyrically, Dnt Stop is a storyteller with a penchant for clever punchlines and heavy self reflection. Musically, his sound pays homage to the old school while being squarely rooted in the present. As an artist, I just want to try and tell the truth to people in a way that inspires movement. I really like the Homeboy Sandman's and the Lupe Fiasco's and what they bring, but I also just heard Future's new album, and I like that too.

The Palace Museum Beijing Forbidden City
This summer we visited Beijing and went to see the palace museum Beijing or forbidden city and it was AMAZING!
The Palace Museum Beijing must have so many great stories to tell and you could spend days exploring all the different areas.
You HAVE to buy tickets in advance and online, they only allow 70,000 people in per day and the crowds are BIG so be ready, and be ready to do a LOT of walking!
The forbidden city Beijing is the world's largest collection of well-preserved medieval wooden structures.
Apart from the magnitude of the complex, the detail of the architecture is also astounding, every detail reflects features of traditional Chinese architecture and rich Chinese culture.
From 1420 to 1644, the Forbidden City was the seat of the Ming dynasty. In April 1644, it was captured by rebel forces led by Li Zicheng, who proclaimed himself emperor of the Shun dynasty. He soon fled before the combined armies of former Ming general Wu Sangui and Manchu forces, setting fire to parts of the Forbidden City in the process.
By October, the Manchus had achieved supremacy in northern China, and a ceremony was held at the Forbidden City to proclaim the young Shunzhi Emperor as ruler of all China under the Qing dynasty. The Qing rulers changed the names on some of the principal buildings, to emphasise Harmony rather than Supremacy, made the name plates bilingual (Chinese and Manchu), and introduced Shamanist elements to the palace, and was renamed the palace museum after the cultural revolution.

Inside the Oldest Hutong District in Beijing, CHINA
When I came to Beijing, I was curious about how and where Chinese people lived in the past? Not only I decided to stay in one of Beijing's hutongs but also took the pedicab around the intricately twisted lanes to admire the old courtyards and experience the life of ancient Beijing. After decades of decay, hutong life is getting harder. In the last 20 years, Beijing has doubled in size to 20 million residents. The newcomers in the capital need homes jobs and conveniences that traditional hung life just can't supply but experts say that rapid urbanisation should still preserve the past.
In the same way that Forbidden City is the symbol of China's royal family; the winding hutongs in Beijing represent the way of life of the common people. Some may even say that the real culture of Beijing is the culture of the hutong and courtyards. In Beijing, hutongs are alleys formed by lines of 'siheyuan'. In Chinese, 'Si' means 'Four' which refers to four sides: east, west, north and south where 'He' refers to surroundings, meaning the four sides circle into a square. Due to its special layout, it is compared to a box with a garden in the centre. There is only one gate leading to a hutong, so when the gate is closed it is easy to lose touch with the outside world. In such an environment, family members can fully enjoy the tranquillity and share the happiness of a peaceful family union. On the other hand, many neighbourhoods were formed by joining one siheyuan to another to form a hutong and then joining one hutong to another making it easy for local people to keep in touch with their neighbours. Once you enter any of the lanes, you can feel deep and warm relationships among people.
Hutong is a Mongolian word meaning water well. In the past, Beijing was composed of hundreds of courtyards around the Forbidden City, and these lanes stretched out in all four directions, connecting the different kinds of courtyards in the city. Since the mid-20th century, the number of Beijing's hutongs has dropped dramatically as they were demolished to make way for new roads and buildings. More recently, some hutongs have been designated as protected areas in an attempt to preserve this aspect of Chinese cultural history. The data can further explain the severe reality. According to research, Beijing had 3,050 hutongs in 1949, 2,250 in 1990 and only a little over 1,300 in 2004. Together with the Forbidden City, it is regarded as a symbol of old Beijing. However, with more and more being destroyed day by day, the old city is disappearing.
