20 things to do in Belfast Travel Guide | Top Attractions Travel Video Transcript:
Well hello from Northern Ireland. This week we are traveling around Belfast and we only have three days in the capital so we're going to try and cover as much ground as we possibly can and show you some of the highlights.
The RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, and it was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The Titanic Belfast exhibition, tells the stories of the Titanic's ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912 and it is one of the top attractions in the city.
Right now we're on board the SS Nomadic, the little sister of the Titanic, and we're going to take a full tour of the ship.
The SS Nomadic was a steamship built as a tender to the RMS Titanic. It was her job to ferry passengers, baggage, and supplies to and from the shore.
Next up we are heading inside St George's Market, which we've been told is more than just a farmer's market. Apparently, aside from buying food there you can catch some live shows, go shopping for vintage items, jewelry. So we're going to head inside and see what it is like. And it is only open on the weekends.
Queen's University Belfast is one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom. It also happens to have a really nice campus, so we decided to take a little stroll.
The Botanic Gardens first opened as a private garden in 1828, and for many years the public only had access on Sundays. Today anyone can visit and it's a beautiful place to walk around, especially if you luck out with sunshine.
So if you take a look at my pint over here you might be thinking I'm having Guinness. It does look a lot like Guinness but in fact it is Belfast Black. And I have to say it tastes just as good if not better.
For 360 degree views of Belfast, we recommend going to Victoria Square Shopping Centre, and riding the elevator up to the dome. This will give you a nice bird's eye view of Belfast.
So to wrap things up here in Belfast I'm going to mention three things I really liked about the city.
First off it is highly affordable. One of the best bargains you can get is a day pass for the bus. It's really cheap and it allows you to travel anywhere in the city unlimited usage.
Secondly, this is a very friendly city. Almost anytime we brought out a map we had a local coming up to offer help. And we just found that whenever we took taxi rides or were in restaurants locals really went the extra distance to make us feel welcome here.
And lastly this is a very walk-able city. Most of the attractions are clustered.
And that's it for our quick trip to Belfast! As you can probably see, our visit was fairly short so we didn't get to do it all. If you have any suggestions of other sights and attractions worth checking out around Belfast, feel free to share those in the comments below.
This is part of our Travel in Northern Ireland series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Irish culture, Irish arts, Irish foods, Irish religion, Irish cuisine and Irish people.

Beat School (1961)
Beat School story - Burgess Hill School in Hertfordshire.
Two versions of story exist - print version and neg version - almost exactly the same. See note at end of description.
Narrator states: England has long been famous for its educational establishments, the freedom of choice of schools and for their political and social toleration. But here's a boarding school where youth is not merely allowed but encouraged to have its fling. Shots of children arriving at school. Some arrive on their own motorbikes, others jump out of a van. The kids wear casual clothes - jeans and leather jackets. A couple of the boys are rockers with quiffs and sunglasses, some might be called beatniks. They go into the school building - this is the progressive Burgess Hill School in Hertfordshire.
M/S of teacher sitting at a blackboard with two children beside him drawing on the board. C/U of the teacher and the children. L/S of classroom which has large colourful mural. This is an art class. high angle of girl doing a painting - modern art. This sort of painting may be a little strange but at least she is having fun. An older girl paints. The narrator states that it isn't surprising that the children enjoy art as most come from artistic homes. M/S of pupils working at a circular table. Colourful mural behind them has the names of writers painted upon it (Chaucer, Wilde, Eliot etc.) A dog sits on one of the chairs. C/U of girl in sunglasses taking a cigarette out of her pencil case. One of the rockers lights it up for her. She hands it to the boy sitting next to her who takes a drag. ...besides...smoking calms the nerves.
M/S of another classroom. Headmaster Jimmy (James) East is playing some groovy music on the record player. He has a cat sitting on his desk. The children sit around in his class on the floor. Jimmy changes the record from jazz to Elgar and hands the children sheet music to follow. C/U of young boy lying down listening to the music.
Table manners are discussed over shots of pupils having their dinner. It is very relaxed, some don't even sit at tables, a girl eats a piece of chicken with her hands. The rock chick gives the dog a piece of food. The grounds of the school are shown. Here without danger or worry to anyone the youngsters run and play. Various shots of the children playing on ropes - hanging from a very high rope and swinging from tree to tree. Youngish boy walks along smoking a cigarette and playing a harmonica.
Drama lessons are very popular at the school as self expression is paramount. M/S of three pupils performing in a play using method acting. One of the rockers holds a pistol in his hand. He pretends to be shot and lights a cigarette with shaking hands. Boys riding motorcycles move into shot.
Teenagers... must dance L/S of the kids dressed in beat uniform dancing to the twist - Chubby Checker. Skirts swirl to reveal stockings and suspenders. A few boys ride their bikes around the room through the dancers. Narrator states that when asked about their schooling one of the pupils says that we learn no more than we would at an ordinary school. But there are compensations, like being happy. The narrator ends with the wry comment: Like being happy? Well we wonder.
Note: fab film about a fab school - wish I'd gone there! Good for illustrating rock and roll, beatniks, teenagers, jiving etc. Neg has some different shots to print - Julian cut in some out-take scenes to neg for purposes of making it suitable for cinema screening as part of the MGM Cinema Classics season. Neg is better than print. Magazine story which inspired item available with paperwork.

Visit Ireland Travel Guide & Best things to do in Northern Ireland Travel Food Video Transcript:
So this week we're excited to be exploring Dublin and we're planning to spend an entire week here. This video is going to highlight 25 things to do around the city.
Dublin is where most trips in Ireland begin, so before seeing the rest of the country, Audrey and I spent a whole week getting to know the capital. When the weather cooperated we walked around the city, toured Trinity College, and visited the botanical gardens, and when it poured rain as it often does in this part of the world, we just popped into a pub for some Irish stew and a pint of Guinness. The following video will show you a few of the different things to do in Dublin, Ireland. Enjoy!

Well good morning from Northern Ireland and today is a road-trip day. We're actually leaving Belfast behind and we're going to be driving the Causeway Coastal route and exploring the coast visiting some of the major attractions along there. One of them is Giant's Causeway and from there we'll see what else we find. I know there is a distillery, maybe visit some parks.
It was now time for the main even - Kerry versus Dublin. The final itself was incredible. The rapid action and skill of the players was evident. It's easy to see why Gaelic Football is the most popular sport in Ireland.

Also on show will be the infamous great white shark, a dolphin, seal, octopus, penguin, sting ray and more.
The 200 exhibits also include organs and other body parts displayed using the same plastination technique made famous by artist Damien Hirst - replacing fluids and soluble fats with resins. The process was developed by Dr Gunther von Hagens.

After successfully shipping our van to England from Canada & enjoying our last week in Wales we decided to ferry over to Dublin, Ireland! In this week long van life vlog we explore the city of Dublin (Trinity College, Temple Bar, etc), enjoy the city of Cork and fall in love with the seaside town of Greystones. In Greystones we have the pleasure of meeting our new friends Dave & Steve of the Happy Pear! These two are leaders in the plant based movement in Ireland and across the world and it was a real pleasure getting to live a day in the life of the Happy Pear :). We then cut across the country to check out the Cliffs of Moher and choose the WORST camping spots since living in a van — we almost flooded our tiny house! Have no fear… we manage to call a tow truck in the knick of time. However, our bad luck with Mother Nature continues as we hit the Wild Atlantic Way just in time to be rained on for 3 days straight. Still learning to embrace this crazy weather ;)
