Ends with a flight across the Bay to approx 1500 feet from Island Beach State Park and back, made it a little more than 1.3 miles before returning to Bayville, I didn't want to push it; I didn't loose radio control the whole way.

Microadventures: Double Trouble State Park, Bayville, NJ
New Jersey has a lot to offer in terms of historical preservation & hiking trails, and in spots like the Double Trouble State Park you can find both in one place. This was a nice, low-pressure afternoon trip for our whole family, and we’re happy to have you along for the microadventure!
The Double Trouble Historic District occupies over 200 acres and includes the village and surrounding bogs. The natural environment of cedar forest and rapidly flowing stream provided both raw materials and water power for an extensive lumber industry from the 1700s to the 1900s. As timber was cut, the cleared swampland created bog habitat ideal for growing cranberries. Cranberry culture began at Double Trouble Village in the 1860s. By the 20th century, the Double Trouble Company was one of the largest cranberry operations in the state. With technological advancements and the change from the back breaking “dry” harvest of cranberries by hand to the mechanized “wet” harvest still used today, the large seasonal labor force of migrant workers who lived in the village was no longer needed. Holly Park Inn, Bayville NJ, A Brief History, New Jersey Shore
Bayville NJ doesn't usually find itself on the History Channel. But like most NJ Shore Towns, Bayville holds claim to LOTS of history including many historic businesses, some surviving today in one shape or another. This video / photo slide documentary tells the story of just one, the infamous Holly Park Inn (aka Hotel, Big Stash's, Charley Nobles, PJ's, Windows on the Bay and currently The Cove. But Bayville is also famous for the Royal Pines Hotel (Al Capone era), Al Leiter (famed NY Yankees ball player), Vic's Greenhouse's (closed just a few years ago), Casagrand's General Store (Wawa before we knew what it was), Moore's Farm Market, and a Hotel Resort which was never realized, but to name a few.
