Things to do in Berlin : 3 Day Travel Guide
Berlin is one of the most fascinating and unique cities to visit in all of Europe. From Imperial monuments to tragic WW2 and Cold War sites to booming art and counter-culture scene Berlin is packed with things to do.
In this video, we share how we spent our time in Berlin. Our trip to Berlin was 6 days due to a conference we attended. Because we were not visiting sites the entire time we estimate that to do all the activities in our video you will need about 3-4 days.
Included in this video are the Brandenburg Gate, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Reichstag Building, Victory Column, Berlin Wall Memorial, and East Side gallery.
Some places for food and drinks in this video include Prater Biergarten and Cafe am Neun See (another beer garden), Jones Ice Cream, Curry 36 (for the famous currywurst dish), and Klunkerkranich rooftop bar.
We had an amazing time in Berlin and if you are interested in 19th and 20th-century history, or alternative arts and lifestyle than Berlin is a city you will have a great time in.

Today we go on a tour of Kreuzberg, a Berlin neighbourhood home to a lot of artists, musicians, and creatives. Kreuzberg is the heart of many alternative music scenes, and is the epicentre of the edgy and celebrated Berlin street art culture.
Kottbusser Tor – known to locals as Kotti – has the vibrancy of a city where everyone comes together to have a drink and experience a great night out. At the same time, other parts of Kreuzberg are more laid back, like the canal at Paul Linke Ufer, or one of the many large parks such as Görlitzer Park, where you can enjoy specialty coffee, take a nice walk, or just lie about with a good book. The beauty of Kreuzberg is that it brings all of these diverse lifestyles together.

Free Walking Tour - Berlin GERMANY
Took the free walking tour in Berlin during the first weekend of May. It was very busy and we had to wait about 25 minutes for the tour to finally take us in.
It's reccomended you book the free walking tour ahead of time. The meeting point is Paris Platz (sp) or Paris Square next to the Starbucks. You'll see the people with the red jackets or red umbrellas. Can't remember their tour company name.
It's about a 2-3 hour walking tour and covers several miles. Make sure to dress appropriately and wear good shoes.
Tipping is recommended. We figured if they charge about 15 euro for a 6 hour tour, we gave 5 euro tip for 2 hours. I don't know if that was ultimately fair, still trying to figure out the euro/usd conversion.

Being a nightlife mekka for people all around the world and one of the top destinations for young Europeans looking for a free life with interesting job opportunities, this city has one core feature that you won’t find anywhere else in europe: It’s diversity.
Wandering around one of the many hip neighbourhoods, chances are you will get to hear english more often than german,
experience food options that are as versatile as could be and find racism widely absent.

Berlin's alternative tour
This video is a gold mine of Berlin's counterculture. I am still in awe and SO SO happy that we decided on going on this alternative tour when we were in Germany. In general, Germany's history is focused on the Holocaust WWII period. But things happened afterwards too! You had the rise and demise of the Berlin Wall, and you had the deindustrialization of Berlin which enabled people to move into empty factories and create a fusion of culture, art, music, and ideas. Richie and I agree that having visited this part of Berlin spoiled us for life, our expectations of public art and expression in general has been set extremely high because of Berlin, thank you Berlin.

Kreuzberg Berlin around Kottbusser tor is diverse cultural life, its experimental alternative lifestyles, a home to some of Berlin’s best nightclubs today.
Once West Berlin’s poorest area, Kreuzberg became a hotspot for counterculture after the Berlin Wall came down, and now boasts countless museums and galleries, as well as many of the city’s trendiest cafés and restaurants. There is the large Turkish community in Kreuzberg.
