Lee Strobel, Mark Mittelberg and William Lane Craig are hosting a seminar being broadcast simultaneously to participating churches around the US the evening of October 14th, 2012 in how to deal with the rise of atheism. They are promising to unpack the central claims made by those who deny God's existence and discuss how we can best answer them. This should be very interesting because atheists don't make any claims other than: Your evidence for god is lacking, therefore I don't believe in it. Not sure how they can answer that since they already tried and failed. At any rate, I think it would be a good idea if atheists attended this event in order to find out what is being said about our position and how these fundamentalist evangelicals are preparing themselves to confront us. Hope you can attend and help get the word out!

Arlo Guthrie returns to Woodstock after 50 years
(15 Aug 2019) Arlo Guthrie sang The Times They Are A-Changin,' a Bob Dylan classic, for reporters as pilgrims dressed in tie-dye converged at the site of the legendary Woodstock concert.
Guthrie is set to perform Thursday (15AUG.2019) evening before an outdoor screening of the concert documentary on the famous field. But he said he also wanted to play at least one song near where he performed on the 1969 stage.
Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is hosting events Thursday (15AUG.2019) through Sunday at the bucolic 1969 concert site, 80 miles (130 kilometers) northwest of New York City.
An estimated 400,000 people showed up for the original festival on upstate New York farmland Aug. 15-18, 1969.

In October 2009 the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park opened as a legacy project of the Hudson Fulton Champlain Quadricentennial. The park provides access to the Hudson River's breathtaking landscape for pedestrians, hikers, joggers, bicyclists, and people with disabilities. The bridge deck stands 212 feet above the river's surface and is 6,768 feet (1.28 miles) long, making it the longest, elevated pedestrian bridge in the world.

The bridge is 212 feet above the Hudson River's surface.
The Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge was built in the late 19th century to link New York and New England to an extensive, nationwide railway network. For decades, it was a major rail corridor for both freight and passengers.
After a fire in 1974, the bridge was abandoned and sat for decades as an orphaned relic. This brand new park was made possible due to the unwavering commitment of the community, who, through a non-profit organization called Walkway Over the Hudson, forged a public private partnership involving the State of New York, the federal government, neighboring municipalities, private corporations and other not for profit groups. The amazing result of this wonderful partnership is a brand new state park, now open for all to enjoy.
New! Ride the glass evelator up to the park or down to the Poughkeepsie waterfront. Along the way, be treated to great views of the surrounding scenery and the structure of the bridge. The elevator is located at Upper Landing Park, a short walk from the Poughkeepsie Train Station. Call (845) 834-3641 to check the operating schedule of the elevator.
