I went to the museum to learn about the history of Alaska, and there was an exhibition of relations between the United States and Russia. Russia dominated Alaska from the 18th century. But when the Crime War broke out, there was a shortage of finances. Russia eventually sells Alaska to the United States. The sale price was a low of $ 7.2 million. Although Alaska has been in the US for 150 years this year, there are still a lot of traces of Russia in Alaska. There is a Russian Orthodox Church in the town of Eckruina near Anchorage. The building of the St. Nikolai church built by logs has been around for 150 years. The bride, a descendant of a Russian immigrant, watched the inside of the church. In the church, there is a virginity and appeal that was used in the 19th century. Alaska Natives lived with their own language and culture. The Russians began to come here from the 18th century, and the Aborigines accepted the Russian Orthodox and came into contact with European civilization. There is a graveyard of Aboriginal people beside the church. But each cemetery has a small house built one by one. It is the custom of the Alaska native to make the 'House of the Soul' for the deceased. Some houses are elaborately built like real people live. Inside there are furniture and decorations. And, in the middle of the night, the soul put a curtain on the window to mean that it would sleep comfortably. Before accepting Orthodox, the Aborigines believed that if a person dies, the soul moves around this house. After a year or so, I return to the ground. That's why they built this house. In front of Alaska's traditional house of soul, there is a Russian Orthodox cross, and the American flag is on it. It seems to symbolize how today's Alaska is made.

So Sarah Palin thinks we're 'Alaska', not 'America'?
Sarah Palin, addressing the Tea Party Convention, goes on a foreign policy rant. When she wants to sing the praises of the desperates' 'beacon of hope', or some such thing, she ends up calling us 'Alaska.' She then becomes aware of the mistake, and her awkwardness follows . . .

The lift at the entrance could see the concert party in full swing in progress. Alaska Native tribes which are scattered in each region, young representatives of every two people are listed as an introduction to his tribe, and was busy serving the traditional performance of each tribe. But there are sculptures on display was found that even by a layman in my eyes quite exceptional. The explanation that ivory seal. (HD 1080p) Alaska, The Gateway to the Klondike
The Klondike is a region of the Yukon in northwest Canada, east of the Alaska border. It lies around the Klondike River, a small river that enters the Yukon from the east at Dawson. The Klondike is famed because of the Klondike Gold Rush, which started in 1896 and ended the following year. Gold has been mined continuously in that area except for a hiatus in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
For this video, I used the theme from the movie Magnificent Seven, performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The score written by Elmer Bernstein has frequently been featured in the media and popular culture. In 1963, the theme was used in a cigarette commercial in the USA. The theme was also included in the James Bond film Moonraker.
I think the music evokes the beauty and magnificence of the wild, wild west. - those images I saw and remember in old classic western movies, and more recently , the breathtaking images I saw and captured during my last tour of Alaska.

Top Secret SR-71 Blackbird pilot Brian Shul - May 5, 2018 - Anchorage, Alaska (4K in Chrome browser)
Retired United States Air Force Major Brian Shul was the featured speaker at the 2018 Great Alaska Aviation Gathering in Anchorage, AK. He was a pilot of the formerly Top Secret SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. The title of his speech was: The Speed of Life: Perseverance and Triumph Over Tragedy.
This is a copy of the text from the aviation gathering's website:
A highly motivating, humorous, and fascinating talk that covers some of Mr. Shul's experiences from lying near death on a jungle floor in Vietnam, to flying the world's fastest jet, the SR-71. He also talks about his present day photography and the books he has authored. Coupled with Mr. Shul's breathtaking slides taken in flight, and his philosophical views on life, this is an unforgettable presentation for all in attendance.
Brian Shul is a Vietnam War-era attack pilot and a retired major in the United States Air Force (USAF). He flew 212 combat missions and was shot down near the end of the war. He was so badly burned that he was given next to no chance to live. Surviving, he returned to full flight status, flying the SR-71 Blackbird. Major Shul completed a 20-year career in the Air Force. He has written four books on aviation and runs a photo studio in California.
Video is available in 4K resolution if you are using the Chrome web browser.
Alaska at War
The Alaska at War film project was an effort to document events of World War II in Alaska. It was funded by the Alaska Legislature through the Alaska Historical Commission and was supported by the Alaska Historical Society and private subscription. The production work was performed by aurora Films, assisted by a citizen's advisory committee. The production Alaska at War was first shown in public on Alaska Day, October 18th 1986.
This collection was deposited in the University of Alaska Anchorage, Archives and Special collections Department by the Alaska Historical Commission in 1987. Additional papers were presented to the archives by the Alaska Air Command Historian's Office in 1989; and by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, in 1990. The University of Alaska Anchorage offered these records to the Alaska State Archives July of 2010. Copyright to the production is retained by the State of Alaska. Funded through the Alaska Humanities Forum and State of Alaska, the series won multiple awards for public service and educational programming. IPTV dissolved in 1988. Videotapes for all finished productions and raw footage were later moved to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), where they became housed with the Alaska Film Archives, a unit of the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections & Archives department in the Rasmuson Library at UAF, shortly after the unit was founded in 1993. The Alaska Film Archives is currently seeking funding to preserve and digitize all of the original full interviews gathered in the making of the Alaska Review series. Copies of finished productions are also held by Alaska State Library Historical Collections in Juneau. For more information, please contact the Alaska Film Archives at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
