DUBLIN BIKES - Dublinbikes is a public bicycle rental scheme which has operated in the city of Dublin since 2009. At its launch, the scheme, which is sponsored by JCDecaux, used 450 French-made unisex bicycles with 40 stations.

Renting a bike is one of the easiest and most fun ways to see the city of Dublin. No matter what the weather, Dubliners are pedal pushers. Why? Because you can reach one side of the city to another in under 30 minutes, and Dublin has over 120 miles of cycle tracks -- not to mention the ever expanding Dublin Bikes scheme. With 550 bikes and 44 stations around the city, and plans to increase this to 102 stations, it is one of Europe's most successful bike rental projects.

Dublin Bikes Bicycle rental station beside the canal. Didn't bother getting one yet. Will have to, because getting the bus somewhere at lunch just doesn't work. Look at the pretty rental station compared to the real Dublin Bikes chained up to their poles. Bikes are three speed, dynamo hub, hub brakes, lock in the basket, look nice. Gonna race one soon. Gonna race it hard!
