ROOT'S COUNTRY MARKET - Horror VHS & Amish Stromboli - Manheim, PA
Join me on a visit to my favorite market, Root's in Manheim, PA. This is one of the biggest markets I've ever been to and it's full of quality vendors offering up excellent produce, sweets and food of all kinds. Open only on Tuesdays, this market attracts big crowds so the earlier you get there the better. There's also a flea market which opens a few hours before the actual market does. Definitely worth the visit!

Amish Country, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Dutch Country
Amish Country, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Dutch Country
Lancaster County is home to the second largest Amish settlement in the world. There are numerous ways there to learn more about the Amish lifestyle. Some of the unique Amish attractions in Lancaster offer a good place to start. You can tour Amish exhibits or homesteads. You can take tours through the back countryside past Amish farms. You can even take an Amish buggy ride and learn about their way of life from inside a carriage driven by an Amishman.
In the Amish Country of Lancaster County, you can get away from the fast-paced urban lifestyle and find a more relaxed, slower-paced atmosphere. That’s one of the reasons this area is such a popular vacation and weekend getaway. The change of pace and slower way of living found along back country roads can be very relaxing. You can even tour local farms while you are there.
Pennsylvania Dutch Country refers to an area of southeastern Pennsylvania, United States that by the American Revolution had a high percentage of Pennsylvania Dutch inhabitants. Geographically the area referred to as Amish/Dutch country centers on the cities of Allentown, Hershey, Lancaster, Reading, and York.

Antique West Troy / Albany, NY Stoneware Elephant Crock
Mark discusses one of the most incredibly-decorated examples of antique American stoneware pottery we have ever handled: a four-gallon jar / crock stamped WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY and bearing the very elaborate cobalt design of a stampeding elephant. It will be sold as part of our upcoming landmark July 18, 2015 auction of American stoneware and redware pottery.

2000th Viewer Special: Historic 1890's Gated OTIS Elevator at Cycle Warehouse: Butler, PA
*UPDATE 2017*: I can actually confirm that this elevator is indeed an Otis from the 1890s! 1895 to be exact! How did I find out? Well I was wondering around up on the second floor of the store and I came across the front wooden gate for the elevator. On that wooden gate I saw that it read Otis Elevator Company in black stenciled bold print! BTW if you do look at the plate with the company's name on the car (like I showed in the video); you can barely make out an O at the very beginning of it before it was worn out. This is actually an amazing discovery that I just found out recently! We indeed got ourselves a 19th century Otis elevator in Butler, PA. A very and I mean VERY rare thing to come across these days [especially if it's still mostly original]! I should actually get a picture of the name for you guys whenever I get the chance to prove it to you guys.
*ORIGNAL VIDEO DISCRPTION*
My channel has over 2000 views so why not do something special for it. Like a video of a antique 1890's freight elevator but not just any elevator; an all original and manually operated pull the rope/cable elevator! I mean this is like the holy grail of elevators! How many times do you get to do this?
A little history about this building. This building first opened up in either the 1880's or 1890's as a Troutman's department store. It was at the time the largest store in Butler, PA as well as the most classy store in the city. Sometimes either in the very late 1940's, 50's, or 60's; the store was renovated. However the first floor remained the same; well expect the flooring was redone as well as new lighting was installed. In 1987 the store closed for good and went out of business. It was also the last department store that remained opened in downtown. Then the building became a mini flea market but then was abandon for a decade. In either 2000 or '01 someone bought the building and turned it into a motorcycle shop. I don't remember what the name of it was. And then it was renamed to Cycle Warehouse as it is currently today.
I would like to thank Bill and the rest of the members of Cycle Warehouse for giving me the opportunity to do this. Anyway I hope you'll enjoy this video of this hidden treasure in Butler, PA.
Oh yeah did I also mention I got to control this elevator as well?
Installed: 1895
