Biscayne Bay (Bahía Vizcaína in Spanish) is a lagoon that is approximately 35 miles (56 km) long and up to 8 miles (13 km) wide located on the Atlantic coast of South Florida, United States. It is usually divided for purposes of discussion and analysis into three parts: North Bay, Central Bay, and South Bay. Its area is 428 square miles (1,110 km2). The drainage basin covers 938 square miles (2,430 km2).

Isle of Normandy or Normandy Island or Normandy Isles or Normandy Isle is a neighborhood of North Beach in the city of Miami Beach, Florida, United States. It is located along the eastern shore of Biscayne Bay. After building a chain of movie theaters in Cincinnati, Alsace native Henri Levi (or Levy) moved to Miami Beach in 1922. In 1926 he undertook a 2-year period of 24-hour-a-day dredging to create Normandy Isle from the natural swampy land mass in Biscayne Bay west of 71st street theretofore called Warner-Meade Island. Levy was also instrumental in the construction of the 79th Street Causeway. Most streets on Normandy Isle were named after French cities and architectural landmarks.

Wesley Chapel’s Epperson development opened its Crystal Lagoon in April with a visit by Olympic superstar Michael Phelps. Since then, construction had to be halted on the 7.5 acre pool. Some residents say Epperson’s planned usage fees are an outrage.

Dolphins in Biscayne Bay - Miami, Fl. - LONG VIDEO
It was a friend's birthday, so one of her friends, who owns a charter company - Blue Infinity Charters - hosted on one of his boats. He picked up 10 of us at Shuckers on the the 79th st causeway around 4:30PM . We said we saw some dolphins (a baby included!) moments earlier and he set off towards their direction just south of the bridge at Treasure Island. The next thing we know, the dolphins were surfing our wake for 20 minutes from the 79th Causeway to Sunset Island.
