That'll Never Happen To Me___Blind Blake.wmv
That'll Never Happen To Me___Blind Blake___No Copyright Infringement Intended___Blind Blake (born Arthur Blake, circa 1893, Jacksonville, Florida; died: circa 1933) was an influential blues/ragtime singer and guitarist. He is often called The King of Ragtime Guitar.
Blind Blake recorded about 80 tracks for Paramount Records between 1926 and 1932.[1] He was one of the most accomplished guitarists of his genre with a surprisingly diverse range of material. He is best known for his distinct guitar sound that was comparable in sound and style to a ragtime piano.[2]
Little is known about his life. His birthplace was listed as Jacksonville, Florida by Paramount Records but that is not firmly established.[1] On one recording he slipped into a Geechee dialect, prompting speculation that he was from the Georgia coastal region. Nothing is definitely known of his death and even his name is not certain. According to one source, his real name was Arthur Phelps, although concrete evidence for this claim is lacking.[3] The Phelps name theory was entirely based on a response given by Blind Willie McTell in an interview conducted in 1955 in Atlanta, where Blake has never been reported; nor did McTell ever reside in Chicago. Recent research has discovered that many of Blind Blake's recordings were copyrighted under the name 'Arthur Blake', and in his two-part recording with Papa Charlie Jackson, Papa Charlie and Blind Blake Talk About It, the following dialogue is heard:
Jackson: What is your right name?
Blake: My right name is Arthur Blake![3]
There is only one surviving photograph of him in existence.
His first recordings were made in 1926 and his records sold very well. His first solo record was Early Morning Blues with West Coast Blues on the B-side. Both are considered excellent examples of his ragtime-based guitar style and are prototypes for the burgeoning Piedmont blues. Blake made his last recordings in 1932, the end of his career aided by Paramount's bankruptcy. It is often said that the later recordings have much less sparkle. Stefan Grossman and Gayle Dean Wardlow think its possible that only one side of Blake's last record is actually by him.[4] Champagne Charlie Is My Name does not actually sound like Blake's playing or singing. Allegedly, Blind Blake was drinking heavily in his final years. It is likely that this led to his early death at only 40 years old. The exact circumstances of his death are not known; Reverend Gary Davis said in an interview that he had heard Blake was killed by a streetcar.[5]
His complex and intricate finger picking has inspired Reverend Gary Davis, Jorma Kaukonen, Ry Cooder, Ralph McTell, Leon Redbone and many others. French singer-songwriter Francis Cabrel refers to Blind Blake in the song Cent Ans de Plus on the 1999 album Hors-Saison.

Illusionist Michael Grandinetti Makes The Phillie Phanatic Magically Appear LIVE in Philadelphia
In this large-scale grand illusion, witnessed live by 40,000 people, illusionist Michael Grandinetti makes the 7ft tall, 300lb Phillie Phanatic magically appear in broad daylight in the outfield at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The illusion was performed while completely surrounded by an audience with a 360 degree view of the magic. This is magic on a major scale.
Michael Grandinetti is not your ordinary magician.
With performances on national and international television, in stadiums, arenas, casinos, and theaters around the country, with symphony orchestras, for Fortune 500 companies, and even at The White House, Michael has made a name for himself around the world as an extremely talented and innovative illusionist. Over the past 20 years, Michael has strived to make magic contemporary and to give it a wide, mainstream appeal while taking his magic in new and daring directions. He has been featured on NBC’s “The World’s Most Dangerous Magic II”, CW’s “Masters of Illusion”, “Entertainment Tonight”, “SportsCenter”, New York Today, FOX & Friends, “The Bold and the Beautiful”, Crook & Chase, and The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.
Possessing a true passion for amazing live audiences, Michael has performed at Heinz Hall with Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch and the Pittsburgh Symphony, Grand Central Station in New York City, Navy Pier in Chicago, John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA, the Four Seasons Resort in Lanai, Hawaii, on the red carpet of ESPN's ESPY Awards in Hollywood, and at The White House Easter Celebration. Last year, Michael was honored to be the first illusionist ever invited to perform in America’s Independence Day Parade in Washington DC. During this national celebration of our country, Michael levitated a girl high above one of the floats as it moved down Constitution Avenue, in front of a live audience of 250,000 people.
Michael was also one of the headlining performers in “Masters of Magic”, a large-scale production show which ran nightly for two months at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, in Reno, Nevada, on what is the world's largest indoor stage
Michael's personality and style were introduced to the world when he performed his original creation “The Spike Tower” on the NBC television special “The World’s Most Dangerous Magic II”. While covered with a mixture of gasoline and kerosene and secured by chains, Michael had only sixty seconds to escape before two walls of flaming steel spikes were thrust towards him at over 50mph. Bringing together seven illusionists from around the world, at just 21, Michael was the youngest performer on the show.
In the 2014 CW television series “Masters of Illusion”, hosted by Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Hit The Floor), Michael was featured, in five episodes, with his original grand illusions. Also during the show, special guest Ace Young, star of American Idol and Hair on Broadway, assisted Michael onstage for his “Walking Through Steel” illusion.
In addition, Michael has created and developed custom presentations for Fortune 500 companies and major corporations including Mazda, Hewlett Packard, Grainger, Ernst & Young, The American Marketing Association, Harley-Davidson, Rite Aid, and Bayer.
As a respected Creative Consultant, Michael has taught sleight of hand magic to the actors on the CBS Daytime Drama The Bold and the Beautiful, consulted on a national commercial featuring magic for the United States Treasury, and provided historical information for “Spellbound”, a biographical book on famed illusionist Doug Henning. His original illusion designs have been featured around the world, including stage productions in Japan, Korea, and Italy. Michael was even called about the possibility of making Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, magically appear – before it was built!
Michael Grandinetti is making the ancient art of magic charismatic and contemporary. By blurring the line between illusion and reality in a groundbreaking yet personable way, Michael gives the audience an engaging, entertaining, one of a kind experience they will not forget.

Your Southern Can Is Mine___Blind Willie McTell.wmv
Blind Willie McTell___No Copyright Infringement Intended___Blind Willie McTell (May 5, 1898 -- August 19, 1959) was an influential African-American blues musician and songwriter who sang and accompanied himself on the guitar. He was a twelve-string finger picking Piedmont and country blues guitarist who recorded 149 songs between 1927 and 1956.___Born William Samuel McTier (or McTear)[1]) in Thomson, Georgia, blind in one eye, McTell had lost his remaining vision by late childhood but became an adept reader of Braille. He showed proficiency in music from an early age and learned to play the six-string guitar as soon as he could. His father left the family when McTell was still young, and when his mother died in the 1920s, he left his hometown and became a wandering busker. He began his recording career in 1927 for Victor Records in Atlanta.[2]
In the years before World War II, he traveled and performed widely, recording for a number of labels under many different names, including Blind Willie McTell (Victor and Decca), Blind Sammie (Columbia), Georgia Bill (Okeh), Hot Shot Willie (Victor), Blind Willie (Vocalion and Bluebird), Barrelhouse Sammie (Atlantic), and Pig & Whistle Red (Regal). The Pig 'n Whistle appellation was a reference to a chain of Atlanta Bar-B-Que restaurants, one of which was located on the south side of East Ponce de Leon between Boulevard and Moreland Avenue. Blind Willie frequently played for tips in the parking lot of this location, which later became the Krispy Kreme. He was also known to play behind the nearby building that later became Ray Lee's Blue Lantern Lounge. His style was singular: a form of country blues bridging the gap between the raw blues of the early part of the 20th century and the more refined east coast Piedmont sound. He took on the less common and more unwieldy 12-string guitar because of its loudness. The style is well documented on John Lomax's 1940 recordings of McTell for the Library of Congress, for which McTell earned ten dollars (the modern equivalent of $154.25).[2]
McTell is unusual, if not unique, among country bluesmen for his ability to play the guitar in both a complex, fingerpicking ragtime style similar to Blind Blake or Blind Boy Fuller (see, for example, his recording of Georgia Rag, a cover of Blake's Wabash Rag) and a heavier bottleneck blues style (Three Women Blues). His playing in both idioms is masterly, fluid, and inventive; based on multiple recordings of the same song (for example, Broke Down Engine), he never played a song the same way twice. His style could almost be called stream of consciousness, as he would vary the bar pattern and sometimes even the rhythm and chord progression from verse to verse. McTell was also an excellent accompanist and recorded many songs with his longtime musical companion, Curley Weaver; their recordings are some of the most outstanding examples of country blues guitar duets. See, for example, It's a Good Little Thing or You Were Born to Die.
In 1934, he married Ruthy Kate Williams (now better known as Kate McTell).[3] She accompanied him on stage and on several recordings before becoming a nurse in 1939. Most of their marriage from 1942 until his death was spent apart, with her living in Fort Gordon near Augusta and him working around Atlanta.
Postwar, he recorded for Atlantic Records and Regal Records in 1949, but these recordings met with less commercial success than his previous works. He continued to perform around Atlanta, but his career was cut short by ill health, predominantly diabetes and alcoholism.
In 1956, an Atlanta record store manager, Edward Rhodes, discovered McTell playing in the street for quarters and enticed him with a bottle of corn liquor into his store, where he captured a few final performances on a tape recorder. These were released posthumously on Prestige/Bluesville Records as Last Session.[4]
McTell died in Milledgeville, Georgia, of a stroke in 1959. He was buried at Jones Grove Church, near Thomson, Georgia, his birthplace. A fan paid to have a gravestone erected on his resting place.
He was inducted into the Blues Foundation's Hall of Fame in 1981,[5] and into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1990.___Birth name William Samuel McTier

THE OBITUARY
Minnie Clara Brady was born in Randolph County, Alabama, on January 4, 1934 to the parentage of the late Eli Brady and Mary (Ross) Wright.
She wed the late David Lewis Higgins who preceded her in death May 6, 2010. Their union gave rise to a devoted daughter, Mary.
She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law: George Broom (Pumpkin), and Josh Watts; and sisters-in-law: Margaret Treadwell, Sidney Henrietta Broom, and Louise Higgins.
Minnie Higgins was a Christian woman who enjoyed working outside in the yards, going for long rides in the car, and loved sweets especially cakes. She will be remembered as a long-time employee at both the Traylor's and Rosser's Nursing Homes, where she enjoyed caring for the elderly and aged. She was a long-time member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Wadley, where she remained a faithful member throughout her adult life.
Her last days were spent in the LaGrange Hospice, LaGrange, Georgia, where she slowly drifted into eternity, ending her 78-year earthly sojourn. Minnie Clara Higgins closed her eyes for the last time, and fell asleep in death on Sunday morning, August 5, 2012.
She leaves to celebrate her life, mourn her departure, and cherish her loving memory: a daughter, Mrs. Mary Treadwell Heard (Quinton) of Roanoke, Alabama; four (4) grandchildren including: a special grandson, Timothy Treadwell of Huntsville, Texas; grandson Montavious Staples and granddaughters, Kaylin Treadwell and Erica Treadwell all of Roanoke, Alabama; a brother-in-law: Robert Higgins of Wadley, Alabama, and sister-in-law, Clemmie Watts of Atlanta, Georgia; special cousins: Edna Blakes of Roanoke, Alabama; William Watts, Sr., and William Watts, Jr., both of Wadley, Alabama; a special friend, Icie Langston of Wadley, Alabama; and finally a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
