What is the Sicilian Avenue? an interesting thing about this street is the monumental nee-classical or Edwardian style arches that borders the two ends of the street. The street is pedestrian shopping parade, although there aren't actually that many shops in the street. As the street is in a mainly business district of London, the shops/restaurants are mostly mid to high end, but pleasant nevertheless. It's kind of quiet during the weekends.
This charming street called Sicilian Avenue it's probably the most wonderful pedestrian little street in London. It is just off Bloomsbury Sq and is lined with small boutiques & several places to eat & drink. Many eateries have outdoor seating which is perfect on a sunny day. I had spent a lot of time in this museum when I was studying in London. It is a massive depository of everything that the British Empire has ‘gathered’ over the years. In many ways, all museums celebrate the act of collecting, and the act of collecting is, and always will be, facilitated by wealth and power. I often have mixed feelings about historical museums. These sites in which neutrality is maintained. How historians speak of their positions as keepers but not judges. I will not entertain a single perspective that colonisation can be justified. It fuelled (and continues to) so many things that the human race should be ashamed of; slavery, exploitation, wars and most of all, the act of labelling the other as the other. Anyway. I don’t know why I didn’t take off my jacket when I was making this video. I was literally boiling. Sweat has been literally spilt to make this video, aligning with all the blood and tears over centuries as secretly spoken by all the artefacts in this museum.

The British Museum in London Walking Tour
A Walking tour around the British Museum in London focussing on all the major exhibits.
The British Museum is a museum in London dedicated to human history and culture. Its permanent collection, numbering some 8 million works, is among the largest and most comprehensive in existence and originates from all continents, illustrating and documenting the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present.
The British Museum was established in 1753, largely based on the collections of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Sloane. The museum first opened to the public on 15 January 1759 in Montagu House in Bloomsbury, on the site of the current museum building. Its expansion over the following two and a half centuries was largely a result of an expanding British colonial footprint and has resulted in the creation of several branch institutions, the first being the British Museum (Natural History) in South Kensington in 1881. Some objects in the collection, most notably the Elgin Marbles from the Parthenon, are the objects of controversy and of calls for restitution to their countries of origin.
Until 1997, when the British Library (previously centred on the Round Reading Room) moved to a new site, the British Museum housed both a national museum of antiquities and a national library in the same building. The museum is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and as with all other national museums in the United Kingdom it charges no admission fee, except for loan exhibitions. Since 2002 the director of the museum has been Neil MacGregor.

World's Oldest Clothes - Hidden Museums - Bloomsbury Walking Tour - London
Do you want to see the world's oldest garment of clothing? The Tarkhan dress! It's amazing, 5000 years old! In this London walking tour of Bloomsbury around the London University there are many hidden museums and lovely things to see as well as beautiful squares.
Woburn Walk is Regency from about 1822 with Listed buildings.
Tucked away in a corner so not to disturb wealthy residents.
W.B Yeats held meetings here every Monday attended by Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot and John Masefield. Masefield said it was the most interesting sitting room in London!!
Yeats was described by locals as The toff what lived in the buildings
Tavistock Square where Charles Dickens lived and wrote Tale of Two Cities, Hard Times, Little Dorrit, Bleak House. It was his last residence in London.
*Also on July 7th 2005 London bombings killed 13 people.
Gordon Square is a nice serene garden which features in The Mummy returns.
The Petrie Museum is where you will find thousands of Egyptian exhibits and the oldest garment, and just around the corner lies the Grant Museum where you can see a dodo and 67000 exhibits, including other extinct species.
Senate House
Senate House was used by Orwell as the inspiration for the Ministry of Truth (as the propaganda dept was based in there during the War)
UCL also is home to the remains of Jeremy Bentham from the 18th and 19th Century. He was a Social reformer and founder of Utilitarianism.
* Right and wrong is measured by the greatest happiness for the greatest number
Bedford Square
The Russel Family who were the Dukes of Bedford owned a lot of land in Bloomsbury
Many late 18th Century middle class houses remain here and are the most well preserved Georgian Houses in London.
Bloomsbury Square was developed by the Earl of Southampton in the 1660s.
Bedford house occupied north side but was later demolished when it became less fashionable.
In 1694 a 23 year old scot, John Law killed Edward Beau Wilson in a duel but he escaped his cell and became controller of Finances of France under Louis XV
Look out for the houses on the south side by John Nash
The Museum Tavern was probably The Alpha Inn in The Blue Carbuncle as Arthur Conan Doyle drank here and even describes its location. Karl Marx also drank here.
Sicilian Ave was built in 1910 with grade II listed lamp posts with cherubs on them and beautiful buildings.

LONDON WALK | Camden Town incl. Camden Market, Lock and High Street | England
A first-person perspective London walk tour of Camden Town including Camden High Street, Camden Lock and Camden Market.
See all the sights as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of London, featuring Camden High Street, Lock and Market. The tour starts on Camden High Street outside Camden Town Station, then travels up the street to Camden Lock, then along and crossing over the canal, entering into Camden Market, first through Camden Lock Place, then into Horse Tunnel Market, and The Stables Market where the tour concludes.
Sights seen along the tour include the many shops on Camden High Street with amazing 3D shop murals, the Mad Hatter’s tea party, Regent’s Canal, market stalls selling a whole variety of goods (including clothes, jewellery, art, toys), street food and restaurants, shops (including Cyberdog), horse statues - with one covered in stickers, and a statue of Amy Winehouse.
Footage recorded September 2017.
