Annapolis Maryland trip by the water
Annapolis is an amazing place for boating and sailing in Chesapeake Bay. It is one of the most beautiful town to visit during summer weekend. It is even better to visit this town by water.
We could not bring our boat so tried to go on the dingy. As you will see, the whole area is flooded with big boats and there's no space to part. The channels leading to the town is full of boats anchored in the water.
It was fun and hilarious, not a bit scary, although we were stopped by the water cops for speeding at night while going back home :-)
A Day Aboard the Snow Goose

The state of Maryland in 2011 blazed a trail by supporting a new initiative to introduce environmental literacy in all Maryland schools, a trend that is set to go nationwide and has been supported by the No Child Left Inside (NCLI) Coalition.

Man swims 5 hours to save family after boat capsizes off Maryland coast
A Maryland man swam for hours to reach help for his family, including two children, after their boat capsized in a storm off Maryland's Eastern Shore.
John Franklin Riggs climbed rocks along the shoreline in the dark and knocked on the door of the first house he saw after swimming three miles early Wednesday.
He came to the right house, said Angela Byrd, whose dog's barking awakened her. She found 46-year-old Riggs outside, soaking wet and barefoot.
He said, 'I've been swimming since sundown; I need help,' she told the Daily Times.
Byrd called 911 and rescuers were soon on their way to the 16-foot Carolina Skiff that capsized near Deal Island, southwest of Salisbury. Life jackets saved the boaters' lives, Sgt. Brian Albert of the Maryland Natural Resources Police said.
Just not knowing what's going on with them while I was gone. It was getting nasty and blowing harder. And not knowing if we would be able to find them when we got back out there, Riggs told WBOC.com.
A Maryland State Police helicopter hovered above the boat as firefighters from Deal Island, Mount Vernon and Fairmount in Somerset County and Westside in Wicomico County pulled alongside. The U.S. Coast Guard also was on the scene, Albert said.
Deal Island Fire Chief Donald Ford told WBOC.com that Riggs braved. some of the worse tides in the Chesapeake Bay.
It's an amazing story, Ford told the station. The man's a hero. He swam from Haines Point and ended up, when he came to shore, at Hall Point.
Contessa Riggs of Washington said she clung to the boat for five hours with her 3-year-old son, Conrad Drake; her 70-year-old father, a retired commercial waterman also named John Riggs, and his 9-year-old granddaughter, Emily Horn, a fourth-grader visiting from the San Francisco Bay area.
I've never been so happy to see search boats in my life, she said Wednesday by telephone. It took him five hours to swim ashore. He had to stop and grab a crab pot buoy and rest, then swim.
We clinged to the side of the boat and got stung by sea nettles in the dark, she said.
Riggs' 9-year-old niece, Emily, calls Riggs a real hero. She added that the next time the family goes fishing, I'll go if the water is really shallow.

JUMBO HOG BLACK FISH ( TAUTOG ) 1/8/19 Part 2 Great Day To Be Togging On Fishbound
Part 2 of a great Black Fish trip aboard the World Record charter boat Fishbound Charters out of Ocean City MD with Capt. Kane Bounds. There were enough quality tog to go around for everyone aboard! The hits just keep coming! If you enjoyed this video please LIKE, SHARE, & SUBSCRIBE TO THIS CHANNEL !!! This trip can also be titled Vinny's BIG DAY!
For those anglers who have not experienced Tautog fishing, a 10 lb or heavier DOUBLE DIGIT sized specimen is mainly the goal. Considered to be (trophy size) to most tog (aka black fish anglers). In the more Southern states of the tautog's range these fish often grow larger due to warmer waters and a longer growing season, and also less commercial fishing pressure. The States of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, and even Southern NJ, it is more common to occasionally see specimens of 15 lbs or greater. The ultimate goal for most tog anglers is to land a tog of 20 lbs or greater. The present IGFA All Tackle World Record tog is 28 lbs 13 oz and almost 36 inches long caught in Ocean City Maryland aboard the charter boat Fish Bound January of 2015.
These fish are said to exist from as far North as the state of Maine and as far South as North Carolina, and are mainly thought of to be a more cold water/ northern Atlantic coastal species. They are known to be notorious bait thieves, which makes it difficult for many rod & reel anglers to figure out their bite which can be very scratchy and light to very hard. Tog mainly predate upon shell fish and crustaceans like crabs, lobsters, mussels, clams, conch, shrimp, and sand fleas, although they will at times feed on some smaller fin fish species, and other available forage.
Tautog pound for pound are known to be very hard fighters for their size, and because they live in hard bottom structures like wrecks and rock piles, and reefs they often use their homes to their advantage against anglers when hooked, often breaking lines in the hard bottom and causing anglers to snag. Tog are thought of by many to be one of the most challenging and tasty saltwater species to target for all of these reasons. They also happen to be one of the slowest growing species in East Coast Atlantic Ocean waters. There is a large demand and high prices for these fish due to the Asian Live fish market trade that makes them more expensive than 2 lb Maine Lobster most of the year.
Tautog/ Black Fish are one of the larger members of the salt water wrasse family. Scientific name : Tautoga Onitis

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:

SUMMARY
=======
Maryland (US: (listen) MERR-əl-ənd) is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, bordering Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia to its south and west; Pennsylvania to its north; and Delaware to its east. The state's largest city is Baltimore, and its capital is Annapolis. Among its occasional nicknames are Old Line State, the Free State, and the Chesapeake Bay State. It is named after the English queen Henrietta Maria, known in England as Queen Mary.Sixteen of Maryland's twenty-three counties border the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay estuary and its many tributaries, which combined total more than 4,000 miles of shoreline. Although one of the smallest states in the U.S., it features a variety of climates and typographical features that have earned it the moniker of America in Miniature. In a similar vein, Maryland's geography, culture, and history combines elements of the Mid-Atlantic, Northeastern, and South Atlantic regions of the country.
One of the original Thirteen Colonies of Great Britain, Maryland was founded by George Calvert, a Catholic convert who sought to provide a religious haven for Catholics persecuted in England. In 1632, Charles I of England granted Calvert a colonial charter, naming the colony after his wife, Queen Mary. Unlike the Pilgrims and Puritans, who enforced religious conformity in their settlements, Calvert envisioned a colony where people of different religious sects would coexist under the principle of toleration. Accordingly, in 1649 the Maryland General Assembly passed an Act Concerning Religion, which enshrined this principle by penalizing anyone who reproached a fellow Marylander based on religious affiliation. Nevertheless, religious strife was common in the early years, and Catholics remained a minority, albeit in greater numbers than in any other English colony.
Maryland's early settlements and population centers clustered around rivers and other waterways that empty into the Chesapeake Bay. Its economy was heavily plantation based, centered mostly on the cultivation of tobacco. The need for cheap labor led to a rapid expansion of indentured servants, penal labor, and African slaves. In 1760, Maryland's current boundaries took form following the settlement of a long-running border dispute with Pennsylvania. Maryland was an active participant in the events leading up to the American Revolution, and by 1776 its delegates signed the Declaration of Independence. Many of its citizens subsequently played key political and military roles in the war. In 1790, the state ceded land for the establishment of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C.
