MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE ! Je fête mes 30 ans en pleine fôret ❤️ Ce n’était probablement pas ce que j’avais imaginé il y quelques mois mais c’est EXACTEMENT ce qu’il me fallait à ce moment précis. Adirondacks est une région montagneuse au Nord-Est de l’état de New York ⛰Début octobre est la meilleure période pour s’y rendre, le temps est encore clément et surtout : les arbres changent de couleurs ???? C’est époustouflant, c’est magnifique, c’est magique ????????????C’est à faire et à voir au moins une fois dans sa vie. Au programme de la journée : hiking, découverte de Blue Mountain Lake et aboutissement du rêve américain : faire griller des marshmallow.

Nous avons passé un séjour parfait, tout est nickel et propre. Le bungalow est spacieux, il y a un chauffage central en plus du poêle. Du bois gratuit est disponible si l’on veut faire du feu. C’est intime et vous aurez tout le confort nécessaire pour passer un weekend de rêve. John et sa femme sont vraiment à l’écoute et très serviable. L’année prochaine le camp fête ses 100 ans. C’est le moment de prévoir une escapade, non ?

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a United States National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site that straddles the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are a division of the larger Appalachian Mountain chain.
It is the most visited national park in the United States. The border between Tennessee and North Carolina runs northeast to southwest through the centerline of the park. On its route from Maine to Georgia, the Appalachian Trail also passes through the center of the park. The park was chartered by the United States Congress in 1934 and officially dedicated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1940.
It encompasses 522,419 acres (816.28 sq mi; 211,415.47 ha; 2,114.15 km2), making it one of the largest protected areas in the eastern United States. The main park entrances are located along U.S. Highway 441 (Newfound Gap Road) at the towns of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Cherokee, North Carolina. It was the first national park whose land and other costs were paid for in part with federal funds; previous parks were funded wholly with state money or private funds.

rom extreme south-central Pennsylvania the Blue Ridge Mountains run to the south and west, including land that ranges from high peaks (such as the Shenandoahs) to rolling hills like those throughout much of the southwest portion of Virginia. In North Carolina the geologically complex mountain range once again reaches lofty heights, with some individual mountain peaks over 6,000 feet, highest in the eastern United States.
In southern North Carolina this high eastern ridge turns west, and continues to Springer Mountain, in southern Fannin County, Georgia. While the Blue Ridge range does continue to the west it is at this point that both the Benton MacKaye and Appalachian Trail begin their northward trek along the ridges of the Appalachian Mountains. The Benton MacKaye follows the western ridge of the Appalachians while the Appalachian Trail follows the eastern ridge.
The Blue Ridge Range comprises the majority of the Appalachian Mountains. The Appalachians are a loose-knit series of mountain ranges that extend from Maine to Alabama and include portions of New Hampsire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticutt, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. Went for 2 days of skiing with some friends during the Christmas holidays. Even though there wasn't any fresh snowfall, the machined groom snow was pretty good. Nicholas conquered his first double black diamond with surprising ease. Way to go!
